20 week bump. It's hard to tell if I look pregnant or not as I've always had a bit of a tum.

  • Thought I'd say hi as I am 15+5 today.

Didn't post much on the other thread as in a weird kinda way didn't wanna mention too much about being pregnant incase at my 12 week scan something was wrong.

I still worry that stuff can go wrong, especially as cannot feel any movements yet. My only comfort is at night time I can see a little bump if I lay flat on my back.

I was very over weight (8 stone), lost it all and kept it off for a year before trying for our 1st baby so my tummy isn't perfect which = no neat bump yet.

Feel fat and frumpy in my ordinary clothes, though got some maternity bands from asda to wear over my ordinary jeans as still get into as in my legs just cannot do the zip or button up anymore.

Trying to enjoy my pregnancy as know loosing the weight has made me a lot healthier but hard to see the scales go up and up. See my midwife next Thurs so hopefully she says everything is going well.

Looking forward to my 20 week scan on the 8th May though, hubby wants to find out what we're having, I'm not too sure though. Hubby is convinced its a boy because we can't think of any names, where as girls names we've had no problems with.

Hi just lurking from the other thread. I lost 4 stone over about 18 months and have already put 1.5-2 stone back on and I'm not even 12 weeks yet . I'm not getting weighed again...

nice to know bump buddy :) I think I also overeat knowing that if I'm hungry I get nauseaus. I'm still doing about 8 exercise classes a week too! I'll chat to my midwife at my 16 week appointment about it. It was so hard to get the weight off, it's horrible to see it go back on again. However people tend to guess that I'm pregnant and showing rather than eating too many pies! which is nice :) It's also hard to gage what I'm eating as I used to eat much less to lose weight so even eating 'normally' would feel like a lot.

I'm a bit obsessed with my weight, it took me 3 years to get the 8 stone off. It took me awhile last year to relax and enjoy being slimmer (size 26 to a 12) but nearly every week since finding out I was pregnant I have still got on my home scales and recorded my weight.

I'm finding it really difficult to just relax and enjoy and get my head around that weight gain HAS to happen, it has a purpose this time. I'm sure once a 'bump' is obvious to the outside world I will feel loads better about it.

Might have to wear some maternity clothes I think. I was very lucky and picked up a bag of clothes for free off freecycle. If anyone hasn't used that before I recommend it, what I got is fab, loads of jeans, tops and a summer dressing gown. All really good brands and quality, none of it was horrible, it had all been freshly washed and everything.

    Hi everyone,

Welcome to the new joiners of the thread.

I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and feeling quite big now. Big bump but I've only gained 3 pounds according to the scales which is nice. Keep getting comments off people about how I don't need maternity clothes yet... Well since my own clothes don't fit them I do! Why do so many people have opinions once you get pregnant?!

Scan in just under 2 weeks, very excited :) Will try and post a bump picture later.

On another note we have noticed the governments new scheme to help people buy new build houses, so we might be moving to a new house before baby due as our current house is tiny with one bedroom. I'll be thrilled if I get to decorate a nursery!
