Glad to hear you can relax a little more now:)

Starting to get worried about my maternity pay now as apparently it isn't going to be straight forward to sort out and I may only get SMP even though I thought I'd get occupational maternity pay too. Isn't helping me to relax!

Oh no thats not good. Has your employer changed the goal posts or something?

I went back to work on Friday and felt horrific by the end of it. Had to phone in sick yesterday. Still feel terrible :(.

Slept for the majority of yesterday then couldn't sleep last night due to OH's snoring!!! 3am I finally dunted him hard enough to shut him up.

Its complicated and they're trying to wriggle out of it by saying that I don't fulfilll the requirements. I do and I think they know this, but I'm waiting for them to say a definite no before I get outside advice. Need it sorting ASAP as I could technically start my mat leave in June and I'll be about £12k worse off overall if they don't pay me! It's just too much for me to accept and I've worked there for 4 years so I should definitely qualify.

After 4 years you should definitely qualify! They should sort it out soon. Do they have a maternity policy? You could quote it at them maybe?

Time to get your contract and employee handbook out and check the policy. After 26 weeks you should qualify, so 4 years is over and above that!

Do you have a union? If so speak with them. Get your employers response in regards to your OMP in writing and preferably witnessed/on headed paper etc.

Oh yeah, they have one and according to it I qualify. It's slightly more complicated than this but too complicated to go into, however I imagine I am entitled to the pay but I'm going to have a fight on my hands. There's no way I can survive on SMP for 9 months as I earn more than DH and I've worked too hard to get ripped off. Just wish I could focus on enjoying my pregnancy more rather than this sort of stuff. *sigh*
  • Hope everyone has had a good day. I had a yucky day..

Started off lovely, enjoyed my fruit/fibre cereal with some added strawberries on top and a handful of dried apple and apricots at 9am.

Sat down at 10am with a cup of tea ready to skype my family back in Australia. One sip of tea and it made me bring back up all my breakfast

It's the 1st time I have been sick since my 12 week scan (16 weeks tomorrow). I had morning sickness nearly every day since finding out I was pregnant and the only thing that kept it at bay was a ginger biscuit when I woke up before actually getting ready for work.

But I haven't needed the ginger biscuit for the last mth so thought the sickness was gone...

I then finished on skype about 11.30am and had managed to keep down my second attempt at a cup of tea that I had at 11am. Felt hungry so decided to have a cereal bar before having lunch as was having a jacket potato.

That wasn't a good idea as that came back up as well. So gave in and had a ginger biscuit and then a slice of dried toast. Set me up for the rest of the day feeling yucky and very tired.

Unreal how you feel so good one minute and then horrible the next. Ended up having a pj day today.

Hi all, welcome to all the new posters, good to see a few names from the 12 week thread!

I've had a very stressful weekend, I'm almost glad it's over! Busy day at work yesterday, come home and have a nice bath to chill out. Then DH interrupts to say the dog has cut his paw on his walk, and can I help clean him/the floor up. In the middle of doing that, MIL phones to say her and FIL are coming to visit us Sunday (there goes mine and DH nice quiet Sunday, only day off we have had together this week). The dog was fine this morning, bleeding stopped and quite happy to give us a paw, thankfully.

So in-laws came and I faced a million and one questions - what can they buy for us (we have been asked this on a daily basis since DH told them my parents have offered to buy the pram), when am I going on maternity leave (I'm only 16 weeks!), they are convinced we know the sex of the baby and aren't letting on, simply because me and DH refer to baby as 'he' in conversation as it sounds better than 'it'...I could go on, but am sure you get the idea lol!

Oh, and MIL has invited herself to come to ours at Christmas, and to come and visit us for our anniversary in a few week time..told her she was more than welcome, as we're going away for the weekend, ha ha! Christmas, goodness, it's only April for crying out loud!

On the plus side, once we took inlaws back to the bus station this afternoon, we went looking at car seats in Halfords and Mothercare...think we are going to get a Recaro Young Profi Plus, DH is a bit of a car enthusiast, and says if it's good enough for F1, then it's good enough for our baby, bless him!

ETA - I know the Tesco baby event is on just now, but is there likely to be another one before September? Don't know whether to stock up now or wait until nearer the time! Or when the Asda ones take place?
