Thanks for the replies everyone, I think I will just need to set some ground rules before baby is born and let family know.

Good luck to everyone with upcoming scans!

I will be leaving you lot and joining the next thread soon as I am almost 24 weeks now, I know I don't post as often as I should but I always read along and just wanted to say thank you for all the great advice :-)

Oh, also I forgot to ask, does anyone know when you are supposed to start counting kicks from? They still seem pretty irratic at the moment

Don't bother.. so long as you feel them a couple of times a day it is fine.

  • Rum - Just wanted to say that I had the same problem at my 12 week dating scan. Everything started fine, we could see the baby and hubby spotted the heart beat etc. Then just as the lady was taking all the measurements she said 'oh here we go, it's going to wriggle' and sure enough she was right.

Baby did a complete flip and was curled over on its tummy. I had to lay on my side, turn over, lay on my other side, then wiggle my bum. I ended up doing this cycle 5 times before baby turned back round.

I can just imagine the same happening in 4 weeks time for my 20 week scan.

On another note have had a much better day than yesterday. Resorted back to having my ginger biscuit in the morning before doing anything else and that kept the sickness away.

Thank goodness it did as got a last minute invite from a friend to meet up for breaky at 10am, so enjoyed a nice catch up with a few friends and then bought the 1st ever baby item, an outfit that says 'my daddy rocks' (perfect as my hubby is into heavy metal & has 2 guitars so thought it was very fitting)

    Hi Ladies

I'm graduating from the less than 12 weeks thread. Am 13 + 3 today. I am after some advice/reassurance actually.

Had scan on Thursday and little wriggler seemed well. The sonographer said she was happy with what she had seen. The NT measurement was 1.6mm and then I had my bloods done for the combined Down's test.

The lady doing the bloods was lovely and said all being well I would recieve a letter in the post in a couple of weeks giving me the risk factor. If there was a problem i.e. high risk then I would be called in the next few working days.

My mobile rang this evening at 7pm whilst we were eating and it was a blocked number, I said to OH "oh probably a PPI thing" and left it, not immediately thinking of the blood results. Now I am worrying it was the hospital calling about the results!!!! No message was left. Would they call that late in the day do you think with results??

Thanks ladies and sorry for such a long, selfish post for my first on this thread :o just a bit panicky!!

    xx

Welcome hopelass! I don't think they'd phone so late in the evening so I wouldn't worry about it. My letter came through really quickly too so hopefully you'll get yours soon
  • Hi Hopelass.

Just got out my notes to give you a rough idea. I had my scan & bloods taken on the 15th March. The little bit of paper with all the info on that is printed is stamped the 20th March.

My NT measurement was 1.2mm and that = low chance and my letter that came with the results said no further action needed. This letter was dated the 27th March from my midwife and I got it all a few days in the post after, so it was roughly 2 weeks later.

Thanks ladies hopefully its just me being neurotic again! Will keep my phone on me in work tomorrow though just in case. I'm just trying to convince myself that they wouldn't be phoning so late in the day....... one thing I am quickly learning about being pg is that there is always something to worry about!!

    Hugs xx

Hi ladies, just coming over from the other thread, am now 13 weeks. Was wondering if anyone has had any weird cramp/stitch like feelings? It feels quite different from the ligament pain of early pregnancy and I used to just get it occasionally when I went for a run but now it's happening during the day. Bit random but thought I'd ask! Hope everyone is feeling well and has happy wriggling beans :)
