Oh not long now then, i would love to have a scan again, the 20weeks is so detailed and i was listening so carefully incase she said something was wrong that i would love to do it over again but just watch baby wriggling around. Its lovely to see how much they've grown.
Re the classes we have been booked into parent craft ones in April. I didn't know what the nct ones are and not sure if we have them in ni. Tbh ill be happy enough to go to any class as long as they show me how to bathe a baby and change a nappy !Mum of 2 :j0 -

We didn't get told these things. I remember at hospital they had bathing tutorials! You could volunteer your baby to be the one to bathed! I also had the midwife show my how to put a nappy on when DD was bornvery embarrassing but I was very clueless!
We had 4 antenatal classes. One was on pain relief and intervention (she showed us forceps and ventous equipment), one was generally focussed on the hospital and how things work, when to phone, when to come in, car parking, what to pack. Can't remember what the other two were on. Obviously the ones I mentioned were more memorable and useful than the others
My scan is not for ages, 25th Feb I think. I'm not even 14 weeks yet. My next appointment is the 16 week one in about 2 weeks.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
I asked the MW and she said (in our area anyway) the parentcraft classes are just as good as the NCT ones. I don't see the need to do NCT as well seen as we'd have to pay for them - if we had plenty of spare cash and plenty of spare time I might consider it, but we both work long hours and don't have many spare pennies kicking about so we'll just stick with the good old NHS
We are booked in at the end of May, which I thought might be cutting it fine, but ho hum. Hopefully baby won't be early and we'll finish them all
I have had loads of experience with my sister's two little ones so I think I would be fine without the classes, but you never know, they might tell me something new...

Speaking of bathing - is anyone thinking of going for a Tummy Tub? I have heard loads of good things about them and they've been recommended to me by several mums. They look so cute too! Aaaawwwww! A little squidgy baby sitting in a little see-through tub! Too cute!0 -
Should I be insulted by this?
I went to the NHS antenatal classes and they were great. I might be too tight to pay, but don't think I'm a chav!
I made an excellent group of friends who I am still friends with 2 years on at the NHS First time mums parent classes which were held when our babies were about 4 weeks old. Best thing I ever did.
No! Not at all - it does much depend on the area that you live in - if you knew where my NHS classes were being held - you wouldn't go either!:)0 -
Hi everyone,
Hope you don't mind if I join you! I'm currently 15+1 with our 3rd, our youngest turned 7 last month so I'm starting all over again. I've also been diagnosed with gestational diabetes this time, its no fun at all - I have to test my blood sugar 7 times a day and then inject insulin 4 times a day on top of that (I'm like a tea bag!)
Our girls got all excited yesterday, I spent the day with a bump but when I woke up this morning it was gone!!! They are not impressed!!Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0 -
Oh wow girlzmum a fellow norn ironer! Are yo going to the royal or ulster? Im for the ulster, although they wouldn't tell me babys sex last week at 20wk scan. That's great that your girls are excited, i have days too when bump disappears but currently sporting a shelf under my b00bs.lol welcome and congrats xMum of 2 :j0

LOL - hello!!! I'm going to RVH, both of the girls were born there as well (although I actually work in the Ulster - ante natal appointments could have been so easy but I'm in North Belfast so I wasn't even offered Ulster)
Youngest keeps looking at me and is clearly not impressed it hasn't sprung back today. Mind you jeans are too tight now and I'm not big enough for maternity clothes - have given into leggings today.Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0 -

We just use the bath with number one too, get to relax together and don't have to cart a full bath (or bucket) round the house slopping water everywhere. Depending on your birth you might not be able to, or feel like doing that in the early days0
