Sparkles and Nikkiann - hope both your scans go well tomorrow! (remember those choccie bars before hand to get baby uber-hyper!:))
I have just this minute signed up to a 5 session course with the NCT - anyone else doing/done this? I was a bit concerned that the NHS ones would be a bit chavvy or full of teenage mums....0 -
Hi ladies, can I join you?
Pregnant with #2, #1's just about to turn 1!! Had a scan last friday and have just gone 12 weeks, they couldn't get the nuchal measurement because my little person is a wriggler so have offered me the Quad test at around 16 weeks, has anyone else had this?
Hope you and your bubs are all well!!0 -
Dida I did NCT with my last pregnancy, and it really was the best money I have spent.
It's certainly not cheap, but the friends I made through it were invaluable through my maternity leave, and are all still good friends.
I'm not doing it again for obvious reasons, but I think for a first pregnancy it is a good thing to do.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Thanks for the reassurance ladies, am quite anxious this evening so chocolate and cuppa tea then a bath for me...
I wish I had time to do NCT classes, it's a bit of a poor area where our local NHS ones are and they've already said all the first time mums are "quite a bit younger" than me...I'm 25!0 -

You will start to feel your baby kick and prod you soon. It's just flutters and bubbles to begin with and a weird sloshing movement. Sometimes I don't feel him kick but I know that he is moving because my bladder starts to feel uncomfortable or I feel bubbles like you do when your tummy starts to growl.
I need to ring up about parenting classes. They have had my contact details for a while now but no one has rung me back. I have to go because I am clueless and I don't have my mum around to help me. I'm dreading going because all of the ladies who I have bumped into at the centre are *a lot* younger than me.
Also, for those of you who have given your MATB1 form to your HR. Has anyone heard back from them? What do we do now that they have it? Just sit and wait?0 -
My HR got in contact with a recorded delivery letter after about 10 days. Processing when my maternity leave will start, when I will have to return to work.
After 2-3 weeks get in touch with them and chase it up.
For all with MATB1 make sure you take a copy before it is sent off!

Thanks! I photocopied it and kept a copy of the letter that I sent them. They have had mine for just over a week and I am fretting. I fret too easily these days!0 -

OMG! I would be seen as their Grandma then at 38!!!:eek:
I am having to travel 6 miles to go to my nearest NCT class - but they are all in the evening and also one on a Sunday afternoon so I can still schedule it in with work. I am hoping to meet some more "OAPs" like me rather than ones who could be my daughters!!!!:D0 -
Best of luck with the scans tomorrow sparkles and nikkilann
Hope everyone is well and welcome sittingonastar0 -
Morning all..good luck with scans today sparkles and nikki...
This might be useful for anyone who hasn't bought a maternity pillow yet, saw loads of genii pillows in tkmaxx, with covers for £26..! Annoyed I didn't see this before myself as already have one..also fitness balls (think they are the same thing as maternity balls) for £9.99..worth a peek
I'm 23 weeks today, only 1 week left til 24 weeks, or V-day as I'v seen it called on other forums..
Oh and welcome sittingonastar...my beanie was a bit of a wriggler too but they managed to freeze a couple of frames to get the measurement..I think I remember reading that the quad test is almost as accurate as the combined..We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.
