At my 12 week scan baby was dancing all over the place so be good to see that again especially as I haven't felt any movements yetNew first time mummy to a gorgeous little boy!
:j0 -
My scan is Tuesday too, an early one so I'll remember the chocolate bar trick. I haven't felt proper movements either NikkiAnn, just flutters. So will feel a lot more relaxed after the scan.0

@giz, I found H&m can be a bit hit and miss it depends on the store. One store close to me has loads of work stuff and the other not so much. My work is quite formal e.g suits or just a jacket so I am glad most of my jackets are still okay, my boobs have gone up two cup sizes so I had to get some new suit dresses. I just went up a size for the moment as its only the chest that was causing a problem.
I am looking forward to telling them as at least I won't have the pressure of finding something to wear everyday!
Congrats ihatedida on the scan, i am back with my consultant in a couple of weeks and he will scan again as standard, hoping everything is progressing as it should be.
Hope everyone is well0 -
Yeah been in there and it just seemed scruffy for my needs...although I wasn't looking for tops, just skirts/trousers.
H&M online is just rubbish for maternity at the moment. In fact most websites are.
I got my skirts from jojo bebe and happy with them, bit big, but reckon they'll fit in a month.
No. I got the Emmas diary one from Boots/Argos. How do you get the bounty one? Last time I got given it by midwife. They were always worth it last time - get small sample pots of sudocrem/bepathen, samples of wipes/nappies, vouchers off, think there might have been some washing powder samples in one too. I like a freebie
MV I'm sure your scan was this week...did I miss it?
I got a leaflet in the pack I got the first time I saw my midwife and I just filled it out and took it to boots. it was quite good actually, free samples off washing powder, decaf coffee and a hooded baby towel. I also got a couple of romper suits from boots while I was in there, some of their stuff is half price at the moment. I can't wait to know what we at having, will make it so much easier to buy clothes!
hope everyone is well an enjoying the weekend :-) x0 -
Hi girlies, nice to see some names I recognise!
I am 13 weeks tomorrow and had my scan last Thursday confirming everything was as it should be, im happy and relieved.
So can I pick your collective brains about maternity bras please?
I refused to buy anything until after the scan but have been out bra shopping twice now trying in vain to find a comfy non wired bra. I got measured properly and have gone up to an E cup. I usually wear underwired but as that's not recommended I tried on everything I could find in my size without wires and none of them felt comfyI settled for one from mothercare but having worn it now for a few hours its not very comfortable at all. None of the ones I tried had much support most had no padding and looked like I was smuggling peanuts!
I need a good comfy but supportive bra that has a little padding to prevent nippleage showing but suitable for a big busted girl. Any suggestions gratefully received. If at first you dont succeed, try, try again0 -
Go to debenhams.. mothercare bras are horribly unsupportive as are M&S ones. Debenhams do a much better range .. buy one and the go online and check out figleaves... oh.. and ignore whatever size mothercare measured you as it is wrong, it always is. After Eden, Freya, hotmilk all do lovely pretty (some padded!) nursing/maternity bras which fit nicely, have lots of support and look nice too. You could always buy a selection from figleaves send back what you don't like and exchange for the ones you do.
Emma Jane give you cone boobs, and are very old fashioned but offer lots of support.
If you are planning on breastfeeding you may as well get nursing rather than maternity bras.
You don't have to get 'maternity' bras just ordinary non-wired will do.. and probably be cheaper.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Thankyou very much pigpen, that is super helpful I hadn't thought of debenhams! Iooked in m&s but tried on the size that mothercare told me I was so its, quite, possible I was trying the wrong size all along. If at first you dont succeed, try, try again0

Next week will be our last week in here as the wife will be 23w on Tuesday (although why is this group up to 24 weeks instead of 28??)
So far so good, wife seems to be blooming now and is having less problematic pregnancy symptoms. Baby is becoming more and more active all the time, although I have still not felt him kick yet.
Had a bit of a spending spree - oops! So far bought a cotbed (second hand Mamas and Papas Murano unit), car sear with ISOFIX base (Maxi Cosi pebble), and a pram with car seat adapter (Babystyle Oyster). Just need to buy a matress for the cotbed and thats all the big stuff bought!0 -
I got one bra from mothercare which fit really well and picked one up yesterday from H&M. I don't need to get measured as I know how to do that from working in Debenhams a few years ago, I've had to go up a band size and a cup size now!
20 weeks today0 -

Your wife is one day behind me!:)
I have been on a similar spending spree too - trying to spread out the cost a bit - I was relunctant to buy anything quite so soon but my goodness things are expensive so am picking up things as I see them!
Picked up 2nd hand cotbed yesterday - its in superb condition for £21! Bought ISOfix family base for maxi cosi cabriofix seat - got 10% off at Halfords but still a whopping £126!!!! (although it will last until baby is 4 thankfully as it can be used on a group 1 seat - and they are selling on Ebay for £80ish), a Baby Bjorn limited edition carrier (rather funky design!) and just won an auction for a changing table also!:T
No pram yet though - still too far confused about what one is best to buy!
What have the rest of you bought???0
