You can have the whooping cough jab anytime between 28 weeks and 34 weeks it makes your arm a bit dead but I had my flu jab at the same time (one in each arm) so it might of been that one!0

I hope I can move over to this thread next week, the 12+ one seems to be being vacated at a fast rate!
Seeing obstetrician this morning, not sure what it will involve, but have read that often they will listen to the heartbeat.
That will be both amazing and terrifying as I haven't had my 12 week scan yet and I am really nervous.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
@minimuffin thanks for the welcome. I a feeling okay, quite rundown and have an outbreak of cold sores
@mv good luck this AM xxxx0 -
In my paperwork it says whooping cough jab at 34 weeks.. I'm not having it.. if I didn't catch it from DD or DGS last year I doubt I'm going to.
I'll see if I can find the NHS article for u. U might want to reconsider having it.

hey guys, hope you all had good weekends. did anyone else feel a bit deflated around 14 weeks? at about 9-10 weeks my belly felt huge but now it feels a bit smaller. not sure if it was bloating making it big before. i did have quite bad constipation and wind in the first tri that seems to be much better now.
also, did everyone get to hear the heartbeat at their 16 week midwife appointments? I'm not sure whether I need to bring the hubby along or not xx0 -
Hope all goes well today MV and dippy
Hi to the new graduates from the less than 12 week thread :wave:
Probably just your bloating that's gone down, baleb, it's quite common to get smaller before you start to get REALLY big. And seems to depend on area as to whether the MW will listen for a heartbeat at 16 weeks, though I think most do.
I have now started my daily jabs of anti-coagulants. First one last night, which was a bit nervewracking as it's a while since I've had to stick a needle in myself, but I survived. Good thing too as I'm going to be doing this for the next 5 months or so *sigh*. Oh and the monthly blood tests to make sure my blood isn't getting too thin. And the whooping cough jab... Pretty soon I'm going to look like a human pincushion!
And we now have loads of baby stuff as SIL has given back the stuff she borrowed from us last year. It's all starting to feel very real now.You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Morning everyone. Welcome to all the graduates who've joined recently. I hope you're having an uneventful symptom-free pregnancy so far.
Good luck minimuffin, dippydooda, Metranil Vavin and anyone else with scans or appointments coming up this week. I've just passed the half way mark and had my anomaly scan yesterday. All the measurements were within the normal range, which was a huge relief. It sounds silly, but my baby was too well behaved and cooperative, so it was all over so quickly and I felt like I didn't really get to see them! I'll have to wait to see if the Bounty gender predictor is correct as I didn't find out what we're having. The sonographer didn't even mention it, so I'd suggest if you want to find out you say so at the start.
Baleb, I think a lot of people's symptoms reduce as they hit the 2nd trimester, and the lack of bloating could well be the reason you don't feel so big now. I heard the heartbeat at the 16 week appointment, but I think some places wait until further along. Maybe give your midwife a call and ask what they normally do?
This may be a silly question, but is the whooping cough and anti-d injection part of the 28 appointment, or is it something that needs to be arranged separately in the same week? Thanks.0
