Has anyone seen the medela swing breast pump for cheaper than £95?? NCT have it on sale and am just wondering whether to buy it since I was planning on getting one anyway and I know they dont go on sale much!
Also, when washing new baby clothes - do we need to use special baby washing liquid or will normal persil etc do??
I think I am quite lucky as I havent really had constipation yet, though I do take pregnacare most days..hope it doesnt kick in later, though I was advised to pack lactulose type medicine in my hospital bag for first post baby poo!We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

Hmmm, I'll ask at my 16 week appointment then.
In my folder it says if you've had a baby before you get an appt at 16, 28, 34, 36,38,41 weeks. So you don't get 25, 31 and 40 week appointments for second or more baby.
It says you get the Mat B1 issued at the 25 week appointment! And mentions nothing for those not having the 25 week appt.
No GP visits here I don't think. Didn't have any last time.
You know it really does depend on where you live. I haven't had my medical exemption form yet others have been given them from the getgo yet my midwife will issue the MAT B1 certificate at 20 weeks. In fact, when I rang HR the lady I spoke with was carrying on as though it was the norm for them to be issued at 20 weeks. It also seems daft to be given them at 25 weeks when most employers want to see them at least 15 weeks before you are due to give birth.0 -
Jeez, I can't believe that next week is my final week on this thread until I graduate to the next one. It only seems like five minutes since I made my first post.
My baby bouncer has arrived but I wasn't pleased to discover that the shoddy Yodel delivery driver saw fit to lob it over our 6ft garden gate onto a paved patio in the pouring rain. I was fuming!!!! Preggo hormones and being cross isn't a good combination!

The baby bouncer was a bargain wasn't it! Blimey you see them hurl stuff over the garden gates on Youtube and it always makes me horrified!
I have just ordered a maxi cosi car seat - got the OH to sign up to Amazon Family for an extra tenner off and used some vouchers we'd got given for Xmas so it cost us a tenner! Just don't want to pay £140 for the family isofix base though.....so putting it off hoping it drops a bit in price! If anyone sees one less than this - please let me know!
I'm starting to buy quite a bit of stuff hoping to spread out the cost a bit as it all costs a fortune - and neither family has offered to buy us anything yet! Just really 3 expensive-ish things left now - the pram, the isofix base and a wardrobe!

I have seen them do that as well and never in a million years thought that it would happen to me. The ratbags!!!
I have been buying things in bits and bats as well. The only expensive things that we need to buy now are the travel system and I want a baby monitor which films baby sleeping. They are expensive but I want peace of mind when he is sleeping.0 -

Persil Non-Bio is fine or any non-bio - as I think Biological washing stuff can cause itching. I have the Ameda Lactaline breast pump after reading the reviews on Amazon - and it was only £50!0 -

Another question...
Can't be bothered to get up and double check, but I'm pretty sure my midwife appts this time are 16 weeks then 28 weeks. I thought you needed the MAT B1 form by 25 weeks. I recall getting it at my 25 week appt last time. How does that work this time?
I got my MATB1 after 20 week scan at hospital. HTH.x0 -

Fybogel and Lactulose are quite gentle so you won't be caught short. I think lactulose just gave me loads of wind though! So didn't like taking it when I was working!! I will just make sure I don't forget to ask at the 16 week appt, otherwise I'll have the hassle of phoning and sorting it out.
Do other areas at least have less appts if it's not your first baby? Just interested...Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Thanks giz, ill bare that in mind. Might get some fybrogel tomorrow. I've been caught out twice with the runs as well in the past few months, it goes from one extreme to the other! I had to leave work early and tell them i wasn't feeling great, didn't think i would make it home! Only live 3 miles away thankfully.lolMum of 2 :j0
