Anyone else been unable to sleep around the 18 week mark? I'm tired, I go to bed and yet I'm wide awake from 1am onwards. It's exhausting me!

I have the opposite problem - I can't stop sleeping! I go to bed about 10-10.30pm at the latest and sleep through til about 7.45! And I still feel like if I didn't have to go to work I could sleep for another couple of hrs! Hopefully it is just a phase for you and it will pass. Maybe try some relaxation type stuff before bed. Hot bath, warm milk, no TV or phone/laptop just before/in bed, read a book etc...

Welcome baleb! Exciting stuff! How are you feeling? I was so ill until about 16ish weeks! Hope that's not the case with you. :)

    Welcome baleb!

It's ffffFriday! Nearly the weekend, am so ready for it! I've marked on my calendar the number of working days left until maternity leave starts... once today is done only 62 to go :D

Hope everybody is feeling well today - any nice weekend plans? I am off to a spa tomorrow with a friend, such a treat, cannot wait!!

thanks for the welcome lovecake. I was feeling really nauseous for since about 7 weeks but thankfully wasn't actually sick at all an in the last week or two it has got a lot better so hopefully that was it for me.

I had such painful boobs though and they were so bad I literally couldn't sleep at night but fingers crossed they have been behaving recently too!

it must be awful to feel sick for te whole time, are you feeling better now? xx

Speaking of costumes... a friend of mine gave me her old maternity swimsuit, it's fine, just a black one from Next and she didn't wear it much. So, trying to be :money: I thought I'd just wear that to the spa, or, if I could get away with it, my bikini... Tried on my bikini last night..... My boobs look MASSIVE (no complaints, never had a cleavage before!) and my belly is just too big and bulbous to be showing off!! So I tried on the swimsuit, and it is fine, but just looks so 'functional' and makes my boobs look all flat and weird!!

Oh well, at least I saved myself £26 or whatever I was thinking of spending on a nice maternity tankini (secretly wishing I had spent that money, of course). And I suppose I'll spend most of the day swanning around in a white dressing gown anyway.... :D

I also just have to share this.. (not sure why?)... I seem to be getting quite huge now, and a bit uncomfortable - trying not to complain as I'm so excited to be pregnant! Anyway, turning over in bed is a bit of an effort, and I couldn't get comfortable last night... and when I tried to turn over DH started making that beeping noise like a big lorry makes when it's reversing!!!!!!!

Wasn't impressed, but I did laugh!

Just got back from my recall scan and everything is fine - phew! He behaved perfectly and showed them exactly what they needed to see (well he did need some gentle coaching first - had to lay on my side at one point!)

mrsj28 - oh yes! I am finding it hard to shift position in bed as well. Can be verrry hard to make myself comfy at times.

    Haha! That is so funny!:rotfl:

I have issues as well with my fat belly - my legs have to turn me and I keep hearing OH sighing when I do! (I do take the pillows as well so I think I wake him up every time - but then he needs to share the experience too is my thinking!!!:D).

My newly ordered baby bouncer and baby gym (both Amazon bargains) arrived today and on the advice from here, I bought some first size sleep suits from Asda too! Anyone else bought anything "exciting"?!
  • ooh Mrsj have a lovely spa day! How nice! After weeks of moaning about not showing at all, i have really popped out this week! (20wks today) and am feelin a lot bigger, still with my clothes on it's not that noticable but in my pjs or less i look big! We have taken a few bump shots over the months but i got bored cos there wasn't much change but we took one yesterday and it's a bit difference from 15 wks!But I stil lhaven't gained much weight, despite my constant eating!! Baby's been moving quite a lot lately which I am getting used to now.
Looking forward to omy scan on Tues!! :-)
Ihatedida which bouncer and gym did you go for? Think I'm going to just get this moses basket
http://direct.asda.com/Kinder-Valley-Tiny-Ted-Moses-Basket/002669998,default,pd.html everyone says they aren't in them long and this is nice and neutral! And I have seen white rocking stands in argos for £20 so going with one of them too. My brothers went to baby shops and supermarkets yesterday looking at baby stuff and deciding what they can get us!would love to have been a fly on the wall!:)
