You should see the size of me! I am enormous though I get big early on every time and it slows down about 6-7 months.

  • Ihatedida I'm so glad you like it and it's proving useful for people, it was doing my head in trawling thru the grabbits for anything baby related! We sound quite similar, cleanse and polish is the only thing i've ever used muslin for!Got a lot to learn!
I(and my crazy-excited mam) have got a bought a few babygrows and have been buying in newborn and 0-3 so a good mix i reckon, I wonder if there's any point buying a couple of tiny baby just in case? My Mam reckons there's no chance i will have a tiny baby with my fella being quite tall and broad! :-( I read somewhere last wk that women who have taken pregnacare throughout their pregnancies have been having bigger babies-this has kinda put me off!
I also got a cute set of babygrows from sainsbusrys last week while i was down south as we don't have one anywhere near here-they are multi-coloured with letters all over.
Bump-wise, still nothing too obvious for me at 19 wks,my belly has not gotten much bigger but has changed shape, it's rounder and much harder but not really an obvious bump, especially with my clothes on.

    .

Our fellas sound quite similar too!:D Gulp at the Pregnacare thing (combined with the tall fella thing!) - despite the fact that I was sure it made my nausea worse - I have been taking it religiously since week 4!!!! Guess we're tallking quite a few stitches then!:eek:
  • Evening ladies - I'm graduating up to this thread from the under 12 week one.
A bit about me, I'm 39 - been married for 15 years and already have 2 kids age 13 & 2. Bump was unplanned but we are delighted and is due 11th Aug just before my 40th birthday.

1st child was 7lb 4.5oz, 2nd was 9lb, hoping we don't have another 1lb 9oz jump for this baby though OH is 6'4 and neither of us are of small build.

Had nuchal scan today and all is well, been put on low dose aspirin to try to ward against high BP/pre-eclampsia. Consultant check-up in 3 weeks due to my age.

Looking forward to settling in with you all. x

Enjoy New York. We went in April for our honeymoon for just a shy under 2 weeks.

Its hard going, esp if you walk everywhere like we did (you get to see much more this way, we were walking on average 15mile a day!). I agree with the comments that once you go, you never want to leave!
  • Thanks splank, looking forward to.it but apprehensive about the long flight and all the walking! Ive been before, but hubby hasnt. We booked it 4days before we found out about the baby. Can you recommend any nice places to eat? We are staying within 5mins of times sq so fairly central.

We stayed a few blocks from Time Square - the novalty soon wore off with it being uber busy (although morning was a good time to go if you just want to sit around and people watch, not full of tourists at that time!!), however as it was our first time, it was handy being in the middle with good access to most metro stations.

We found that TGI Fridays on time square nice and reasonable! We had a few of our evening meals there.

For pizza, then you have to take a trip across the bridge to Brooklyn to Gramaldi's! It was well worth the wait

There were a few other places we went to but I forget their name, I shall see if I can dig them out for you.

As for the flight, prob best have a natter with your midwife, but usualy all should be ok. Our flight was 1hr to Dublin from Manc, then ~6hrs to NY, keep hydrated and have a good wonder around every now and then!

I wouldn't get too wound up about partner's size dictating how big your baby is going to be. DH is about average size and DS was 9lb 4oz. My 2 brothers are both over 6 foot and their wives had much smaller babies than I did.

We also have some friends who are both below average height and she recently had a 9lb 13oz baby

Welcome to the thread, in_shock :)

Enjoy New York, minimuffin. I went about 10 years ago and would love to go back sometime.
