mogwai - we decided not to find out the sex and keep it as a surprise! did see lots of lovely wriggling though, and it waved at one point!

I'm definitely up for doing hypnobirthing, the courses are quite expensive though - has anybody done it before and not actually done a £££ course, just read the books and listened to the CDs? My sister in law says she has a book on it she'll lend to me.
  • Congrats on your scan MrsJ :)

I listened to a hypnobirthing CD someone leant me, and was really into the idea of it, however I have to be honest..once labour kicked in and the pain started, it all went out of the window and I was wanting DRUGS asap!!!!

I also have to say the pregnancy yoga I did helped me more with breathing/relaxing techniques than the h.birthing did.

How am I going to get to heaven?,

noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!:eek: my boobs look like someone elses because of the colour change, cant get used to it..

mrsj - you can do home courses as well which are a lot cheaper than the classes. Ive ordered the mongan method book and cd, got a used one from amazon, the mongan method seems to be quite popular and it seems all methods have something to recommend them.

    Congrats on your scan mrsj!

I also have really bad skin, which is a reminder from when I got bad skin about 10 years ago. Urgh! Definitely looking forward to it clearing up.

I haven't done any classes, but have been swimming quite a bit (though not so much while everything was covered in snow and I didn't want to drive!).

Eew re nipples staying like this

Morning. Thanks for the reassurance ladies. I’m glad I’m not the only one with bad skin at the moment (though I’m sorry others are suffering too).

I didn’t make it to the pregnancy pilates class last night as my silly train was delayed. I was so annoyed as I’d psyched myself up, and was a bit miserable when I got home. I think I'll try and go swimming later in the week instead.

I’ve not even thought about what sort of labour I want. What exactly is hypnobirthing?

Has anyone booked themselves onto ante-natal classes? The nhs one I've been offered is only a one day thing, so I’m considering doing NCT. To be honest I’m mostly interested in the social side, but if I learn something at the same time then it’s a bonus!

Glad your scan went well Mrsj :) It's so lovely that you're going for a surprise on the gender. We did that with DS and it was lovely to still have that one little thing to look forward to finding out on the day.

I tried hypnobirthing last time and had some CDs, but to be honest I fell asleep every time I listened to them beforehand! I also had a CD of just the music to listen to during the birth and I did have that on, which I found very relaxing. I didn't do any of the visualising though.

I would definitely recommend a water birth if anyone's thinking about it. I was surprised at just how much it eased the pain and am hoping there will be a pool free this time as well.

Areolas - yep, mine never went back to "normal" after DS. You'll get used to them though.

As for skin, mine has actually got better :o I don't often get spots, but it's usually quite greasy and it's a lot better at them moment. My hands and lips are really dry though. And sorry if TMI, but my piles are quite nasty today :( This bit of pregnancy I really don't like!

We're not bothering with ante-natal classes this time as it's only a couple of years since we had DS and I doubt things have changed much. We did NCT ones last time and I have to say that the group of friends we made from them were the best bit :)

Hi all :hello: Thought I would show my face here - 14+3 today :)

Already got a part hard tummy which I expected as its not long since I had my little man - although I'm too chunky to look pregnant yet :D

BTW, my Areolas are the same...but you grow to like 'em!

Mogwai, you get used to them. Once baby arrives your entire body is different but you get used to it. I can't even remember what mine was like before!.. Thinner.. I remember that much.. lol.. I kept 3 stone of the 5.5 I put on with DD3 so I feel a bit hippolike. I am glad I managed to lose all the weight from the last 2 though I was just short of 14 stone after the last one arrived so being back to 11 was an achievement... I am staying well clear of scales again now lol
