Thankyou! Goodness....I don't feel very healthy with a numb leg most of the time - the blood supply doesn't seem to be that great in the right leg region!:p
health of the baby.. once pregnant you are totally unimportant you are just a vessel.. so long as the baby is healthy you have to shut up and put up!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Just one more sleep till the scan
Enjoy your scan tomorrow pippa80 - apparently I have been told that if you eat something sugary beforehand your baby is more active! I had chocolate before mine and it looked like it was raving with its arms!!!!:D (very comical!). Let us know how you get on!0 -
I hope your scan goes well today pippa.
Only one more sleep til mine now! I must remember to take something sweet to eat beforehand. At my 12 week scan, my bladder wasn't full enough so I was sent off to have a cup of tea. I had a biscuit tooand little 'un was bouncing around all over the place when we went back in so it must have had an effect.

So pleased all is well!
And good luck today Pippa, and BB tomorrow! - let's see if Bounty is right again :rotfl:
I like the tip about having something sugary first, must remember that on Monday. My scan is at 08.10 so I'm going to have to drink a couple of pints of water at 07.10
Have just talked to my boss about maternity leave and confirmed my last working day, am very excited!! It's a while to go yet, but it's so nice to have a date in the diary. I'd really hoped to have a holiday before then but my boss has refused my holiday requestAnyway, I'm stopping at 34 weeks so hopefully I'll still be ok to have a holiday with DH then, one last little holiday just the two of us.

Congratulations mogwai on your baby boy! My goodness - Bounty is a genuis!:D
Lovecake - I am also rhesus negative - but I haven't had a card:( I've also read that if you just planning on one baby you don't have to have the anti-d injections or something like that. I don't really understand it all as it was the horrible midwife who told me and all she did was shove a leaflet about it in my hand and then send me packing!!!!
Whats the difference between a anterior placenta and a posteria one - I am the latter according to my notes. Is one better than the other???!! Do I have a special one LOL!!!!:D
It is in case there is any crossover of blood between you and baby when you deliver - it is to stop you developing antibodies. (If a negative lady has a positive baby this can happen) If you aren't planning on having another baby then it doesn't matter if you develop antibodies or not because there won't be another baby for them to attack. I'm not sure if I will have another baby but I will get it anyway just in case...You also need to have it if you have any bleeding or if you misscarry. I have had it before, in my backside, :rotfl:and it really isn't that sore! So you need to have one at 28 weeks and then one when you deliver - although I think they test the baby to see if it is negative too and if it is then you won't need it, you only need it after delivery if it is a positive baby. I hope that makes some sense! :rotfl:Anterior is on the front and posterior is on the back. Posterior is better for blood supply, feeling movements and overall healthiness.
I was told that it makes no difference whatsoever with regards to blood supply and health of baby...
With regards to movements, I have heard that it can take longer for you to feel movements, but I have been feeling the baby since 16 weeks so I think it differs from person to person...
I wouldn't worry about where your placenta is IHateDida - we only need to worry if it is blocking the exit! :rotfl:0 -
Congrats Mogwai on your scan and having a wee baby boy in there! How exciting!0

The artery which supplies the uterus is apparently at the back this is one of the reasons you aren't meant to lie on your back during pregnancy.
Having had both it does make a difference re movements but not massively .. some babies are just lazy and don't move, they tend to more than make up for it once they arrive by being very very demanding!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
mrsj28 - That's annoying of your boss, are you returning to work before your annual leave year finishes? You should have lots of time at 34 weeks, and you'll be able to get so much ready together then.
I have a week's leave in April that I cannot wait for as we're going away but that's from this year's holiday allowance, as boss panicked when I said how many hours holiday I had left between now and end of March so agreed to let me carry the week over and take a few hours per week rather than take nearly a month off!
Haven't sorted my maternity leave with work yet, just have a general idea what I'd like to take so far0
