Good luck today SplanK. Let us know how you get on.

My scan is this Friday - that's come around so fast! It seemed forever away when it was booked in after my 12 week one. I'm quite excited about finding out the flavour, so I hope baby co-operates.

Just got back and pleased to report back that according to the guy doing the ultra sound that all looked normal and that we are having a little boy (kinda good job since I have started to call bump “him”!!)

Seems as though, for my side of the family at least, boys seem to be sticky! I am 1 of 3, my brother is expecting a boy, we are, and my cousin had a boylast year!

Shame they could not get a clear picture for us this time around, but main thing is, according to the scan, baby is growing as expected and no issues detected which has really settled the wife (for now anyway). She had some upset through the week as we got closer to the scan, hormones don’t help, but she is a natural worrier anyway!

Most people know, or have at least guessed from some cryptic messages we have been giving out, but it wasnt public knowlage. Think that will change today!

Splank - great to hear your scan went well, and it sounds like your little boy with have lots of playmates in the family!

BB - I agree, the second scan has come round really quickly for me (mine is on Monday).

Feeling the baby move quite a bit now which I absolutely love!

    Yay SplanK! Exciting!

I have started to feel tiny movements over the last week which is nice! I'm only 16+3, but my bump has properly popped out and am looking obviously pregnant.

My sickness has finally started to ease this week - I am so releived!! :j Although I have started to get a bit of heartburn and also pain in my hips and back at night so I think it is just a trade off for other symptoms.

I must have turned onto my back in my sleep last night and woke up with a dead left arm which was strange. I did wonder whether there would me much effect from sleeping on your back, but clearly there is! Lol! :rotfl:

Got another midwife appointment next week - will they take blood again? I hope not :(

I didn't have any blood taken at my 16 week appointment, just took a urine sample with me and had blood pressure taken, and listened to the baby's heartbeat which was lovely :)

I was 19 weeks then (why can't they all be at the same time??) and that is what happened to me as well :)

Bigbird have received the bump bands today thanks!!! Am wearing them now, they are a little loose but according to someone who is 2 months ahead of me Im due for an expansion soon (feeling a lot of stretch in the area too)

Congrats Splank on your scan, and a little boy! Ive become convinced that ours is a boy since everyone keeps telling us so, but we'll see tomorrow hopefully at our scan.

I did cave yesterday and buy a gorgeous little baby dress from John Lewis yesterday, white with sparkles - soooo cute! Ive told my sister its for her baby though secretly I just want to keep it and snuggle it every so often :)

Good luck for everyone who has a scan this week!

Ive been feeling baby kick for almost 3 weeks now, he/she is really active and I seem to feel it all day and night too :rotfl:

Also, finally had my 16 week scan (at 20 weeks!) and was told that it was too early to listen for the heartbeat as it might take a while to find - I wasn't too bothered as we have a doppler and it takes DH less than a min to find the baby, but if anyone elses midwife says this I would insist on giving the doppler a go as we've been using a standard doppler for weeks without any problems..

Lastly (!) I got my Tara Lee pregnancy dvds (3-set) so once Ive given it a go will let you guys know how I liked the dvd..
We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic. ;)

  • I got to hear heartbeat at 16 week app (even though I was only 15+2) but midwife did say she wouldn't be worried if she couldn't have found it as it was still a bit early.
My 20 week scan isn't for another three weeks though (will be 21+2) so it feels like ages away and I still haven't popped.

My friend showed me pictures of her at 19 and 21 weeks with her first though and she went from barely there to huge so I know it can take a while...

Congrats on team blue, SplanK :) And how lovely that your little man will have lots of cousins around his age to make mud pies with :D

Glad the bump bands arrived OK, Mogwai! That's a shame your MW didn't listen for the heartbeat. Mine said it may take a while to find at my 16 week appointment, but still had a go (and found it straight away!)

My bump has really popped in the last week or 2 and I definitely look pregnant now. With DS it was ages before I popped though. A lot depends on your build and how strong your tummy muscles are. I can only just fasten my coat over my bump now though, which is a bit of a pain as I was hoping not to have to buy a maternity coat. I'll just have to stretch my normal coat as far as it'll go and hope the weather improves soon!

I've had pain in my left hip for the last few days. It seems to be easing now, so I'm hoping it's not going to turn out to be SPD as I believe that can be horrible.
