Hi all, daughter is now 21 weeks, she had her scan last week and all is going well (she didn't want to know the sex, oooh i love surprises, but her partner was upset coz he really wanted to know).
Does anyone know anything about the MAT1B form, my daughter is beginning to panic, as she thought she would be given it when she went for her scan, but they said she would get it at her next midwife appointment when she will be 25 weeks, her panic is because she has been told her employer needs it at least 15 weeks before her due date..... I've been on the direct gov site and from what i've read on there it seems it is needed 21 days before the due date. So now i am really confused, any help or advice about this form will be very much appreciated.
Good luck to all of you with upcoming scans, it's all sooo exciting
Hello, I asked my midwife for it last week when I was 19 weeks but she postdated to my 20th week. Congratulations btw0 -
As far as I know you have to give them notice of your intention to go on Mat. leave at least 15 weeks before, but I don't think you need to have your form handed in that early. I'll ask my HR guy and get back to you! Has she told them her due date and that she intends to take Mat. leave? Maybe put in writing just to be on the safe side...0

I guess that it is different for everyone but when I telephoned my HR the other week I was told to include the MAT 1B form with my letter at least 15 weeks from due date0 -
Absolutely gutted - had to turn back after travelling 20 miles on sheet ice to get to my scan. The area was totally grid-locked all around the ring roads and there was at least a 2 hour wait to get on and off the hospital car park because all of the major roads were gridlocked. Blinking snow!
So still know nothing! Bit upset as the waiting for the 20 week scan seems to be ages - and thanks to the weather, I will now have to rearrange
At least I am safely home - I know others who are still stuck in the gridlock - shocking when we have only had 2-3 inches.0 -

Yep thats right. I handed in my letter of maternity leave at 18 weeks and said on it I would hand in the form M1 in due course. HR then wrote back saying thank you and just to hand in my form when I have received it. They obviously know that forms aren't always received very quickly from midwives.0 -
Thanks for all the quick replies, i'll ask her to speak to her midwife to ask about the matb1 form, and then hopefully they might give her an extra/ earlier appointment with the midwife.
The firm she works for is a small family run business, with only 2 employees who aren't family (1 being my daughter) I know she has told them when she intends to start her maternity leave and her due date and as far as i know they are happy with that, but they keep asking for this matb1 form
Thanks again for your help, i will pass on the info to my daughter0 -

Hello all - I hope this isn't a stupid question, but I'm 13+0 with my 1st and have been lucky to have very few symptoms so far. However today I've been feeling rough - had tenderness in 1 boob and then started with bad diarrhoea this pm. No bleeding, but bad cramps - though gut cramps, not period ones iyswim. I don't know if I've eaten something that's disagreeing with me, or if it's norovirus or what. Will call the docs in the morning if it's no better but just wondered if anyone else has been sick when it's unrelated to your pregnancy?0

My midwife wouldn't give me a MATB1 until 25 weeks. I explained this to my employer (who was insisting I had everything in by 25 weeks) They accepted my maternity leave notice letter and put a note on it saying that my MATB1 would follow as soon as I was able to get it. I just handed it in after the 25 week appointment and everything has gone ok with my maternity leave.0 -

Being gross but ... I had the trots over Christmas and, in late November, I had the winter vomiting bug. My baby is developing well as I have been to the midwife and had a scan since then. Your doctor should put your mind at ease.0
