Oooh just wanted to pop in and say I LOVED my exercise class last night! Very gentle and I definitely didn't break a sweat but I did feel like I'd done lots of stretching a bit of light cardio. It's run by a midwife who is lovely and very chatty, and it was a very small group - so you basically get a free midwife consultation at the same time as the exercise class!
I'm glad that you had a fab time. How did you find out about it? I'd love to go to one myself.0 -
Yes, at the minute, when I am hungry I have to eat ASAP because I will feel very sick very quickly if I don't. This happens too many times a day despite me constantly having a snack at hand.
I have dizziness as well - esp when I move too quickly or get too hot. They say that our blood pressure drops when we hit the second trimester.
I mentioned everything to my midwife this morning (I'm 19+1) and she told me that everything is normal. I also heard my little un's heart beat for the first time as well which was lovely. I'm having my scan this afternoon and, with any luck, we will find out whether it is a pink one or a blue one!
I also got my MAT B1 (I think that is it correct name) so I can start planing my mat leave and OMP properly. It's making everything more real now!
Thanks, that's a bit of a relief. Not sure how I'm going to cope with that and work though, it can be a very active job and I'm often the only experienced adult with other's children.0 -
I went back to work last Thursday (I'm PT btw) and it is really hard for me to eat when at work. This term has been much harder than last and it has only just started - boo!
I work with children as well and I have been having to pop a sugary sweet in my mouth on the sly to keep me going until playtime. One of the kids noticed and asked if it was a cough sweet so I lied and said that it was - eek!0 -

I just googled 'pregnancy exercise class' in my local area - might be worth asking midwife if she can recommend any, or calling the local leisure centre (the class is not run by the leisure centre, but it was held there).0 -
Hi folks,
I haven't been on the forum for ages, but some of you might remember me from the less than 12 weeks thread. I'm 14+3 today.
I just thought I'd pop on here quickly to say that maternitypillow.co.uk have the Dreamgenii pillow on offer at the moment. I am already having trouble sleeping and have heard this can be helpful and can also be used for breastfeeding later on so I thought it would be worth a try. It's normally £46 and have seen it at about £40ish on Amazon, but Maternity Pillow have it for £36 and free delivery right now - not for long though! I think you can get them cheaper on ebay sometimes, but I'm not sure how I feel about buying a used pillow - you can wash the cover and the pillow though.
Anyway, I thought I'd just post in case anyone else was thinking of getting one0 -
thanks for that lovecake - wish they'd done this 1 week earlier, i just received my pillow last thurs!
it is a nice pillow, you have to have it in the right position though, and sometimes it does make me feel a bit 'trapped' but most of the time its quite good! Just a tip, use it the other way round so you get the end of the 'appendage' bit between your legs as used the right way round it can feel a bit thin between the legs..sorry if this isnt too clear! but a good buyWe got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

mogwai - I agree, it's a good pillow, but I totally agree with sometimes feeling a bit 'trapped'!! I got it for £40 in mothercare the other week- not very MSE I know but DH persuaded me by saying it was worth it for a good night's sleep! I actually think a normal long 'sausage' pillow would do the job just as well and I think you can pick them up a bit cheaper.
So far a good investment as I've been sleeping much better!0 -
Sorry I was too late for you both! Thanks for the advice about the positioning mogwai!0

Well I have had my scan and I know it's gender *big grin*. There is a problem with my placenta though and have to be monitored .0
-
Oooh Snozberry, are you prepare to share the flavour?
We didn't find out, and it's a good talking point when people ask about it!
What's up with the placenta? Is it blocking the "exit" that was what they seemed to make a point of looking for at my scan, but said was ok.
Had a poo day in work today, glad to be home. Thinking of going to bed.x0
