    I've been Money Tipped!
Pippa80 - well done for keeping up exercise! I try to get a 20 min walk about at lunch from work everyday. Doesn't sound much, but does make my belly get tight, so think its doing something. Swimming I've found enjoyable, but does feel alot more strenuous than it used to... I guess I'm just not as streamlined as I used to be!
MrsJ - great to see you graduate to here.
I've been lucky with mat clothes as my sister gave me a big box to work through. Sounds like a nice find with the jeans.
Helen - glad MW appt went well.12 weeks seems ages away, but maybe gives you a bit more time to think through birth options. My SIL had c-section on her second, and wasn't too phased. I think it sounds worse than the reality sometimes... especially if it's going to be safer you should consider it? Haven't got my appt until 25+2, so a week or so yet.x

Hope your wife's Dr's appointment goes well today, SplanK, and you can get some proper answers.

What pregnancy vitamins are people taking? I've been taking Boots Pregnancy Support, but they regularly make me feel sick even though I make sure not to take them on an empty stomach. This morning they actually made me throw up :( so I think I'll try something else.

I'm still in my normal jeans at 17+4, but have ordered some maternity ones and some jersey trousers in the Next sale. I also need to get my maternity stuff from last time out of the loft to see what still fits.

  • I have been taking the Pregnacare vits, the one's with the separate fish oil supplement.

OH bought me a load of them last year, so am ploughing through those. They don't half make your wee yellow though!

I should be back at work today but DS has chicken pox so I have to stay home. OH is going to do tomorrow and Wednesday and then we are praying it is over by the weekend as it's DS's 2nd birthday next Monday and we have family coming down at the weekend for a birthday lunch.

Neither OH or I can afford to take too much more time off work at the moment, so it's a real bug*er.

Ah well, best to get it out of the way early I guess...

BigBird - I was taking Pregnacare and when that pack ran out I bought the Tesco version (same thing but cheaper I think!). I take them in the evening so I have a full stomach after eating, but it's not too long before I go to bed so I don't notice any side effects.

I was taking pregnacare but they made me bloated and nauseous so have changed to boots pregnancy support - they seem much better for my stomach!

Foxes were mating in our backyard last night so I had hardly any sleep and my nausea is back today. Hopefully a good night's sleep tonight and I'll be back to my happy second trimester ways!

My wife is taking pregnacare. She was given some by the mid wife but does not contain even a fraction of what's in others. We decided she would continue on the shop bought ones.

She has been getting lots of heartburn issues recently in the evening so I wonder if these vit tabs could increase the symptoms...!?

Will keep you posted about tonight's dr meeting.
  • Morning All,

Early lunch for me as baby is starving!!!!

I'm taking Pregnacare too, seem to be ok with them, no side effects or anything.

Had a horrendous nights non-sleep last night. Up 6 times weeing, incredibly frustrating. Have tried to put a slant on it of " this is just the baby prepping me for what it will be like in the early days!!"

Baby seems to be sitting on my bladder constantly :( will have a chat with MW on Friday and get her to reassure me its not a bladder/water infection (coupled with the other pains in my tummy etc)

Hubby trying to get me to do a pregnancy yoga class. Am just not sure. I'm having probs with my coccyx so it may help that, but then again after being sat on my bum all day, to then sit for 90 mins in a yoga class could make it worse. Also, its a lot of money to fork out when we're paying for a set of ante-natal classes beginning next month too. I'm not sure if I can be bothered to go to work on a mon and then go out again at 8pm ??? He's trying to wrap me in cotton wool a little bit too much, took me swimming the other week (which I've never liked!) and I know he's just trying to help and encourage me, I dont "do" exercise and found it really boring and quite tight across my chest n bump so didnt last longer than 20 mins. Feel bad as i'm lucky he's caring about me, but its just not me.

There, rant over!!!! I do love him really ;)

Hope all ok and you've had a nice weekend?

    Lou x
But I want a golden goose daddy and I want it right NOW!!!!!

Just want a house - I don't usually 'do' exercise and haven't done any so far (I'm 17 weeks) but tonight am going to brave a local exercise class designed for pregnant women... I'm terrified!! I'm so unfit but would like to try and do a little something. Will report back on how it goes..

A lot of people rave about pregnancy yoga - but you have to do what's right for you! It's lovely that your husband is encouraging you and trying to look after you, but at the same time I can understand you wanting to do what you feel comfortable with.

Has anybody else done any pregnancy exercise stuff yet? Would be interested to hear - I am trying to walk a lot more now I'm not feeling so sick; we did a nice long beach walk on Saturday. A friend has lent me a pregnancy Pilates DVD too which I might try and get started on this week. I am not a fan of exercise at all but I always feel better when I've done something. Classes tend to be easiest for me as there is somebody motivating me and telling me what to do... put me on a treadmill and I just get bored after about a minute and step off!

SplanK - good luck with your wifes appointment today. I've been taking pregnacare (on a full stomach otherwise it makes me feel queasy even when not pregnant), but ive only noticed more heartburn when I eat too late at night. Gaviscon really helps though..

just want a house - try a pregnancy dvd, since classes are so expensive. Apart from a bit of walking localy havent really done any exercises but I do notice that my backache eases when Ive been more active (but not tooo active!)
We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic. ;)

So turn up at the docs sit down, explainsituation to him and....
...he know zilch about PAPP-A! He has nevereven heard of it before, and has not come across with it even with his 9 month pregnantwife! He has referred the wife to somebody at the antenatal clinic who isexpecting the wife's call.

So far, even more digging (even asking peoplewho we know are training to become a doc/mid wife) either don’t know about itor state that it’s *so* new that nobody really understands the meaning behind it. Itseems most places don’t test for it or are testing for it but keeping quiet tobuild up statistical data to assist in research to review later. It also appears thatthese people that are in in training have been advised not to even mention it!

Me, I’m quite relaxed about it now. Google sessions show that nearly all peoplewho have posted about it had a good outcome, but 1 or 2 had bad outcomes buteven these may not have been detected/predicted by this screening test and nobodyseems to have mentioned it on here so shows just how new and ‘unknown’ it is! So why the doc decided to tell the wife allthis horrid way rather than saying “we have tested for this, it has come outlow but we are not quite sure what it fully means just yet. We will however increase the monitoring as aprecaution”.
The wife however, although calmer than she was but it’sstill upset her and will be something that’s constant in the back of her mind until little one is born.
