lazywife - I missed Brie too! Other than that I'm not that bothered about the things I'm not allowed to eat. I did have a tiny half glass of champagne on Christmas Day, but then after a couple of sips I decided I didn't want it - it tasted funny and it didn't feel right to be drinking!
Mostly I'm still just eating toast and fruit, although this week things have definitely improved and I've eaten some 'proper' dinners as well!0 -
me again
My Next maternity jeans just arrived and they are perfect! I am usually a size 8, am 5'3" and have been looking for ages for something which was a good fit, and these are perfect - so if anybody of a similar size is looking, try Next
They even cover up my muffin top which normal jeans didn't... I think I might just wear these forever...0 -

Does anyone have to have anti-D injection?
Yes - me!Just found out today that I am A Rhesus negative (whatever that may be!). Just read that the injections are a bit uncomfortable as they are gloopy! Great!
Went for my MW appointment - what a joke! I was sat out in the corridoor where everyone could hear everything that was being said to me - all that they took was my urine sample and my blood pressure - both ok apparently.
No one asked how I was or about any problems I was having (I wanted to have a chat about my migraines and the numbness in my leg but that didn't happen). It was a "free for all" basically - apparently as they had doubled up appointments from last week - so several of us all had the same time!
Well to be honest, I wish I hadn't bothered going as I was quite upset to have been treated like I was on a cattle grid out in a corridoor (I think it was my hormones but I just burst in to tears as soon as I got home!). Was a complete waste OH coming with me - he stayed in the waiting room (he could hear everything anyway along with the whole waiting room!).
I cannot believe they aren't even going to listen to the heart beat until I am 23 weeks:eek: - thank goodness I have my own doppler.
There is no way that I am going to keep bothering going to appointments like this - it was a complete waste of my time and did more harm than good in upsetting me.
Hope everyone elses goes ok - at least I have the 2nd scan (elsewhere!) to look forward to in a couple of weeks!:T
Oh....and I am still eating Brie....I guessed as it never caused me issues before....I would keep eating it! (bet I get a dodgy batch now!!!!) - I cannot stay away from deep fried camembert and cranberry either - oops!
Welcome and congrats NikkiAnn!
Oh god sorry - just realised that my posts have waffled on a bit recently - I promise I will shut up for a bit!!!0 -
IHateDida - sorry to hear your midwife appointment was so rubbish
As you say, good thing you have your own doppler and have heard the heartbeat - I would be going out of my mind if I hadn't heard it at the 16 week appointment! I hope the next appointment will be more positive for you - is there somebody you can speak to so that you can give some feedback about this appointment? I think there is somebody called the 'supervisor of midwives' you can usually talk to.
I'm dribbling now thinking about deep fried camembert...mmmm.....0 -

Thankyou - I think I will see how the next one goes (once they call me and reschedule me an appointment as I specifically asked for an afternoon one but only on getting home I see they have put me in an 11am slot!). I could possibly understand it if I'd had a baby before and knew the "ropes" etc... But she just handed me a "Anti D Prophylaxis" leaflet and basically that was it - thank goodness for Google!0 -
IHateDida - God, how awful! Can you not make an appointment to see your doctor because you really need to have all of your questions answered.0

Oh no IHateDida - that sounds terrible
I had my 16 week appointment today as well. I didn't get to hear the heartbeat eitherBut hopefully I will at the 20 week appointment...
Something very strange happened this afternoon though. My GP phoned to tell me I needed to make an appointment for a pneumonia jab. I thought that was a bit weird as I only knew about needing the flu jab (had already at the GP) and the whooping cough jab a bit later on. I looked it up on the NHS website and it says pregnant women should not have the pneumonia jab! I phoned the antenatal clinic to confirm and they said definitely not! They must be phoning all pregnant women on their books and booking them for jabs that they shouldn’t have!!!
