What happens at the 16 week midwife appt? Got mine next wed, i know they check heartbeat but do they check urine and bp?

I have mine tomorrow (and am going to take urine sample as MW told me to at 7 week appointment). Will let you know what else goes on - going to take OH but not too sure about this really as he's not very good at things like this....!
  • Oh thanks ihatedida, let us know how you get on. My hubby won't be coming to mine next week, we heard the hb at the scan and he would need to use annual leave which he hasn't got much left so i don't mind going on My own. Must print off the emmas diary voucher too!

Hi ladies, at my 16wk appt, mw checked BP, urine, heartbeat and felt where my uterus was though didn't take a formal measurement of it. She also checked that I had a date for the 20wk scan.
It was also an opportunity to ask any questions that you have.
  • Just seen your post about work ihatedida, have you got much of a bump? When are you telling them?

I have my midwife on the 8th, really hoping that I get to hear the heartbeat again. Good luck everyone with yours.

I have quite a bump looking back on my pictures, there's a bump app that you can take a picture every day or every few days and it makes a sideshow animation of you growing, pretty amazing!

I have a MW appointment tomorrow and I am dreading work next week - leg still keeps going numb after I stand for more than 10 mins - and work still don't know that I am pg!

Have you all got your 2nd Bounty packs? I also signed up to Emma's Diary and got another pack from them - its better than the Bounty pack and you can get it from Argos as well as Boots! (better freebies!)

I got my second Bounty pack a while ago but I didn't know about a pack from Emma's Diary. I will look into it now.

Good luck for tomorrow! :) When are you telling work. I told mine ages ago but it is very obvious now. My bump is growing more and more each day. I can't wear normal clothes anymore. I keep reminding myself that it is nine months on and nine months off but I did buy a maternity swimming suit (the unprettiest thing that I have ever owned) which arrived the other day.

Errr....yes - bump has progressed quite a bit over the past 2 weeks - in fact my OH calls me huge - I reckon I look about 6 months - eek (we have a door to our house that is in 2 bits - I now have to open both bits to get in:D!!!). I disguised it before with lose tops and scarves (I have about 10 scarves purchased especially!). I'm telling them next week when I will be 18 weeks!

Has everyone else told work yet?
  • Sparkles whats is the app called? I have an android phone but couldn't find anything. Would like to take pics of bumps progress. I told my work after scan at 11 weeks, but have yet to have a formal meeting with management. The scarves are a good idea, im desperate to look pg lol Those 2 part doors are a nuisance, we had one when we bought our house and I hated it, the stupid thing would never open with the key, needless to say its been replaced!

One of my apps allows you to record pictures of your growing bump and it is called 'babybump'. I have the free one but there is one that you can pay for. I have an iphone though.
