Happy new year all! Not read back but just to report that I tried my new doppler which arrived yesterday..didn't take long for DH to find the heartbeat and at one point we heard both my and the babys heartbeat together..it was sooo nice to be able to hear the heartbeat!
I havent heard anything about my 16 week midwife appt though and im 17 weeks already!?
Hope everyone one else is well, hols over tomorrow
My doppler put my mind at ease too - have you heard some weird shuffling and I'm sure I can hear snorting type noises? Makes me smile when I hear it as you try and imagine what on earth is going on in there!
My 2nd MW appointment was arranged at my 7 week one - I would just give them a call and check you haven't been missed but it might be different depending on health authorities.
Too late to record my bump's progress from a teeny stage. I am waiting for the questions/comments suggesting I am further gone than 4 months (I'm not even 4 months yet!) - bump is quite high up too from bottom of boobs so very noticeable as well - its just kind of ballooned in the past 2 weeks:eek: (hope it doesn't continue at this rate otherwise I won't be able to move in a couple of months!).
Sorted out all my clothes at the weekend and packed away all my pre-pregnancy jeans/skirts/trousers into bin liners - and currently all I am left with is 1 pair of maternity jeans and around 6 pairs of leggings.
I think I need to buy some more clothes that will fit me!0 -
I got my second Bounty pack a while ago but I didn't know about a pack from Emma's Diary. I will look into it now.
.
In the emma's diary one I got:
a small bottle of cocoa butter stretch mark cream
a teeny tube of baby nappy cream
a small bottle of baby oil
4 aldi nappies
a sample pack of aldi baby wipes
a full sized pack of johnsons baby wipes
a small bottle of baby bath
2 samples of breast pads:D
and the usual leaflets etc... Might sign up the OH to get another pack as its one per registered user!0 -

haha now that is a fabulous idea!! wow the contents are much nicer than the second Bounty pack. I have the coupon now - I downloaded all of them but I'm just going to pick the first one up for now.0 -
I had to book the 16 week midwife myself mogwai, as it's a clinic, so it's worth checking with your GP surgery in the morning.
I think it's bumpbooth - it's an iphone app0 -
Hi everyone, Happy New Year! Hope everyone's ok. I had the norovirus over christmas!:-( was really worried about the baby as I just couldn't eat properly for about 3 days!! Ihave my 16 wk MW app on monday but cos I'm in wales I know it's to have my downs blood test. Also been told to take a urine sample every time I go. Taking my OH with me for the first time as he was a bit disappointed i heard the heartbeat last time. Looking forward to hearing it again, feel kind of paranoid that i haven't been putting on weight-actually weigh less than pre-pregnancy weight and I can't see any signs of a bump and I'm 15 + 3 now!0

Morning all.
Know some names from the <12 wk thread.
We had our 12 week scan on NYE and I am VERY pleased to report all is well. Having another scan end of Jan due to problems last time, but I can finally breathe a sigh of relief for now!0 -

Mog, you need to arrange all your MV appointments. The only things that will get sent out to you are scans. My suggestion would either be to phone her direct or contact the centre she is based at as they may have a universal diary.
I can't believe no-one told you that! Some people are so unhelpful.14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -
Thanks lilymay, sparkles and ihatedida - I just called and made the appt, I gave them a bit of a bollocking for not letting me know to book the appt as they made my first midwife appt for me but didnt let me know about doing future appt myself. She also made a heart and lung appt for me with the dr - I didn't know about this either!? Grr really don't like my drs, I wouldnt be surprised if they rearrange these appts too..
Ihatedida - I did hear lots of swooshing sounds I think that is supposed to be the rush of blood? And other weird sounds, I feel like Im listening for whale sounds or something in there, lol
Just starting to research baby bits and bobs now, we are not buying anything til way after our 20 week scan, but I want family to be able to buy their bits in the sales so i need to choose stuff soon! Finding the different pram styles quite confusing, I havent pushed a pram in 20 years (my sisters pram and I was only little then myself!) so no idea what a pram should feel like. Going to go try some out soon but in the meantime Im checking out which reports on baby essentials..We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

Wel Happy New Year everyone!
Hope you all had good Christmasses (apart from being struck with noroviris, poor you dippy). We "hosted" for my sister's family (4 of them) and mum and dad, so found it a little tiring, but over all very pleasant. Did anyone miss certain foods? I normally love brie and cranberry, but couldn't have. Also had a well cooked bit of roast beef, looking longingly at the lovely medium pinky beef that the others got.
New year staying upto midnight was a bit of a challenge to (had to have a little afternoon nap).
Great tip on the Emma's diary freebies, going to look into that.
23 weeks now, so progressing nicely. Still feeling quite well, embracing my bulging bump (seems to have got a bit flabbier over the festive period though.... whoops!)
Does anyone have to have anti-D injection? I've got mw appt in 2 weeks, then I have to have blood samples for "haemoglobin and antibodies" 2 weeks after that, then anti-d injection the week after that. It's cos I'm O neg, but OH not neg.
Keep well ladies.x0 -
Hi everybody  Hope everybody has had a nice Christmas and New Year! Happy New Year
Haven't been posting much but have been reading along - really helpful to read other people's experiences so far, and also from people who have been through pregnancy before.
It's so weird how different PCTs do things so differently - with my MW appointments she gives me a new date at each appointment so I've always got something booked in.
Thanks for the tips on the Emma's diary pack, I've just downloaded the voucher. I picked up the Bounty pack from Boots a couple of weeks ago, I love getting freebies!!
I'm 16 +2 now, and my bump seems to be getting very big already! Have ordered some maternity stuff from the Next sale, cannot wait to get the jeans and really hope they fit, have found it difficult trying to find some nice ones. I'm definitely starting to feel a bit better, still got the nausea but only being sick a couple of times a week instead of a couple of times a day! The worst thing at the moment (sorry, this is gross..) is I have so much saliva all the time and it makes me wretch if I swallow it! Does anybody else get this? Any tips?? I find boiled sweets really help but my teeth will all fall out soon I'm sure!
I was interested in the chat about using reusable nappies - I am really keen to give them a try, seems like there is so much choice I don't know where to start! I might start a thread about it a bit later in the pregnancy as I'd like to hear other people's experiences and opinions!
Anyway, back at work today (and back on the computer, so I'll probably post a lot more!!).0
