helen - how do you arrange an appt with a birth choice person - is it through your midwife? I'd love to hear more about the different options from a professional (midwife appts dont leave much time for discussing that sort of thing)
We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic. ;)

Evening all :-). Welcome to all the new ladies! Lovely to have you join us.

Its my birthday today, so had the day off work - Yay! DH has really spoilt me this birthday, not sure if its because he had to go into work or because of Pip. Either way, he's made me feel very special and cherished and will be making dinner later, a surprise!

Pip's movements are getting much stronger now. DH almost made me cry the other evening when he had his hand on my bump and Pip was kicking away... DH send that's our baby there.

I have a meeting with my manager tomorrow to discuss my maternity leave. This is making it all so much more real!

  • Whoop woop got my scan tomorrow, roll on 2.30.

I was hoping my heartburn would stay away longer, but no, it's back. It always happens around lunch and dinner and at this time at night before I've eaten. I was in morrisons and said it must be 12 to my husband and it was!!

    Happy birthday saffagal

    Thanks jt100 for your reply.

Chornola, I really was in two minds about having A c section, As I love doing everything after baby are born. I love just getting on with it and not having to worry about ne thing. But the more and more I keep thinking about things, I'd rather have a baby heathly then me maybe hurting him/her of delivery, just in case something does happen, and then I would feel so guilty not having baby this way. Does that make sense??

Has any ne started buying baby bits yet?? I haven't I don't seem to have any interest in buying ne thing at the moment?

Pippa80: an 18 month waiting list for nursery??! Omg! I had better get my skates on. I have spoken to some colleagues about which nurseries they use and nothing else.

I am now 15 weeks and two days and my bump is uber sore today. It's just occasional stabbing pains because things are stretching. I do have to be more careful when I stand up or shift position. No one tells you just how painful pregnancy can be! lol

Thats scared me although I don't think its that long here thankfully - the midwife just laughed when I asked her whether I should be looking now for a nursery place at my last booking. I am taking a full year off though - and will settle for a childminder if no nursery (possibly quite likely anyway as the local nursery doesn't start until 8am - I am at work way before then!).

Happy Birthday Saffagal! Glad to hear you're being spolit!:T

I don't know whether I am making this up or not - but I have been feeling flutterings for around 2 weeks now - only occasionally and it only feels like slight flutters. I didn't think you felt anything until later on - might be wind brewing though.....!

Bigbird (I still feel rude calling you that!) - I am more knackered now that 1st trimester - didn't really feel tired at all when i was supposed to - maybe its our age (I am 38 too and not particularly a "small bird"!!!:D). Still keep going numb in my leg also - going to speak to midwife next Tues I think when I have time - I can't spend the next 25 weeks continually sitting down!

Anyone hating the weather - rubbish driving conditions here - makes me worry a bit if I crash/slip as I commute quite far by car every day. I just want some warmer weather (snow is ok when i am off work though!). Wishing everyone safe journeys for the rest of the week.

Oh my goodness! I don't post for one day and come back and the thread has been taken over.....by pregnant ladies!!!!!! Where have you all come from ??? :rotfl: xxxxxxxxxx

Big welcome to any newbies I have not said hello to and lovely to see so many graduated from the 12 week thread!!!! Exciting xxxx

helen4891 - That is a difficult decision to make definitely. You and I both know that labour does not always go how we would like it and sometimes we have to do just do what is necessary. My personal opinion is that, do what is best for you and baby, as all that matters at the end of the day is that you are both ok :) I have had friends who have had c-sections and they have been up and about quicker than some people I know who have given birth naturally, so it is not to say that you will be able to do any less than having a natural birth.

Good luck with your scan today!!!! And hope you don't have a shy baby so at least you will get a picture :rotfl: And an update please when you get home :D

As for buying things, have not given it a thought yet!!! I have had a couple of items given to me but that is it, I think I have been so busy with Christmas, assignments and then going on holiday next Monday! I will probably start getting bits when I hit the 30+ week mark and am only getting the very basics anyway.

IHateDida - It could possibly be baby, if you are feeling butterflies and a sort of bubbly feeling low down - it could well be baby having a wriggle!!!!! Everyone feels different things at different times. As I am on baby number 4, I also agree that it could be wind......:rotfl:

Glad you had a nice birthday Saffagal!!

Pippa80 - Goodness 18 month waiting list - that is scary!!! We have a shortage of nursery spaces round here but I have never had to go on a waiting list. When I went back after my last 2 children (They were 1 and 2 at the time) I nearly had to put them in different nurseries a mile apart, but thankfully there was a cancellation at one and I managed to get them in together. It was the same nursery my eldest DS had attended 14 years ago, so it worked out well. They will also just take them at any time round here, there are no set intake dates either. Lots of planning needed down south!!!

missty25 - I agree with the just applying and see what happens - that shouldn't be long now anyway? I can send mine off from 23rd December. But as I won't be seeing MW till beginning of January it will be later anyway!!! Seriously, I have seen the MW once and I am 23 weeks - without the big belly and sickness I could easily forget I was pregnant!!! Seems they have :p

BigBird - I think blooming is subjective. I don't ever remember feeling "great" in any of my pregnancies At 5 ft 3 and with 9 1/2 to 10 lb babies, I go for the round, rosy weeble look :rotfl: I have a number of people telling me I am blooming now and looking really well - but can't agree that's how I feel somehow!!!

Am off to the library now DH is home - got an assignment due on Monday and lets say I am in need of a miracle :D

Hope you are all well and looking after yourselves and baby bumps xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ooooh Helen, how did the scan go. Did they get the sex right? If so are you allowed to tell us now.

Hope everyone is feeling well today, 20 wk scan tomorrow, hope all is ok. Had a bit of a wobble yesterday as my bump is quite hard generally, but yesterday just felt like a big flabby tummy, couldn't seem to feel anything harder in there, but back to firmness again today, so I think baby is still there!
    We'll see tomorrow?
Quick question, full bladder for 20wk scan or am I ok just regularly hydrated (always drink quite a bit so never dehydrated generally)?
