Hi,
Thanks for the welcome!
ChOnorla I hope your HG settles down. For a period of about 8 weeks I was sick about 12 to 16 times a day and lost the best part of a stOne in that time. Worst thing was no energy to look after DD and guilt that went with it. My consultant has told me that it could come back in the third tri nester, let's hope not!
Re the NHS pay it is not maternity but just normal wages being paid, but not classed as maternity just really a staff benefit, although if I don't return after maternity leave I'll have to pay it back. Wish the job centre were more helpful on the phone, I'm just impatient' lol.Lloyds loan £7045.16/£0.00 Lloyds CC £896.99/£649.25, barclaycard £2792.20/£4582.93, OD £1500, Next £210.43/£734.21, OD £300, Virgin CC £3135/£1108.53, Starting total,£15829.78, running total, £8874.92 paid off to date, £2303/6811.76/6654.86

missty25 - I had HG for the full 40 weeks with baby 1 and 2, nothing with number 3. This is baby number 4 and am hoping this does not do the same!! I had no idea it could come back in the 3rd trimester??? I have never heard that. But mine has never stopped so would make very little difference to me. I am 22 weeks today so over half way there now - have managed it before so will manage it again!! Fingers crossed it does not pay you another surprise visit either
I am still sick 5-6 times a day but that is a vast improvement on the 30-40 times when I was at my worst . And I have managed to keep out of hospital for a few weeks now, so progress is being made....I know that feeling of guilt though re looking after other children. But hopefully that has passed for us both now
I am really not sure about the MA if you are being "paid" then? Who told you that would not be counted? Have you tried asking on the benefits board? Or maybe speaking to Citizens advice or a Benefits advice centre/Welfare rights? Have you a HR department? I know the Job centre aren't great, so know how annoying it must be for you. Will let you know if I think of anyone else who may be able to help.
helen4891- I gave up work at the end of August so am just in the time frame to be able to claim Maternity Allowance. My Dh works long hours so will be nice to have the extra for a while. He has had to work a lot more since I gave up work. So means he will be able to have a little more time with baby when he arrives, as we couldn't afford paternity leave this time.
Off to bed now ladies - hope you all sleep well! xxx0 -
Hello all,
I've just graduated from the other thread - am now 13+3 and had our scan last week. To be honest I'm still feeling quite ill and was sick over the weekend - really hoping that the early symptoms end soon!
On the other hand, it's wonderful that it's out in the open now (well mostly, some people left to tell)
Misty - not too much that i can add on the maternity allowance issue alongside extra pay from your employer - could be worth speaking to your HR dept?
Looking forward to chatting with you all and seeing fellow graduates of the first thread here!0 -

Hello:hello: - I'm joining mogwai and pippa80 from the 12 week thread - I am 14 weeks today, a bit old (late 30s - eek:eek:), first baby, clueless and I haven't told many people yet (no family or work knows
- keeping hush a while longer).
I have been going numb in my right thigh - I did a search on this and it appears that it could be the baby lying on a nerve. It does go away after about an hour or when I sit down - so I am assuming its that. I was really worried it was DVT or something until I googled it - and that has eased some of my worries. Its only been over the past few days. Anyone else get/had this?0 -
Mine just said 'low risk'- I was looking forward to the number!0

Hello ladies, I spoke too soon about feeling normal again! Felt queasy all day again
And my poor tum is sore.
My OH and I have been speaking about the blood test for downs and we have decided not to go ahead with it. Our baby will be loved and well looked after regardless what happens. We don't want to spend the next few months fretting about something we don't need to fret about.
My bump is quite noticeable at the mo and, according to the ladies I work with, it is going to be a boy haha. Apparently, boys show on the front. They might have a little sweepstake going on behind my back for all I know lol.0
