thank you savagehk , and your so lucky with no heartburn!
...well, none is a bit of an exaggeration but I've been self medicating with very dilute antacid when needed rather than gaviscon - I tend to get a bit of acid at the back of my throat occasionally and I think the antacid in small doses just de-acidifies that bit of my throat. And avoiding things that trigger acid in my stomach (which is a strange collection of foods!).
  • Morning All,

Well, I'm 19 weeks today :j I'm chuffed to bits!

Got my 20wk scan on 7th Dec, both of us really looking forward to that. Not going to find out, luckily both of us want to wait until the birth before we find out.

Got really bad back and coxyx(sp) all the time, but all par for the course. Getting little tummy cramps and belly tightenings but they go off after a couple of mins so am not too worried.

Hope everyone else is feeling good today?/

    Lou x
But I want a golden goose daddy and I want it right NOW!!!!!

    Yes Verucca dear. :rotfl:

    Evening all :)

Thank you all, it's not a new diagnosis - it's been 6 long years but we're all given crosses to carry, (we mostly don't know what the next person is carrying) and it's how we carry them that matters - a positive mental attitude can help to maintain quality of life. I'll see what the sonographer says in the morning and if she'll write and seal it for me, thank you x

Just want a house, YAY on reaching 19 weeks!!! And your scan is almost here too :)

claretsgirl, glad that you're doing ok. I think your manager needs to see the legislation around paid time off for attending maternity appointments - which I'm sure includes emergency appointments! Do you have an HR department that you could meet with to support you?

I'm very excited to be seeing Pip again tomorrow; it felt likes AGES when I first received the scan date yet... tomorrow!! I veer between being very excited and being frankly terrified. Luckily DH has been able to get time off tomorrow to come with me and our appt is at 9 so not too long to wait!

Having a very frustrating time with staffing at work with sickness and cover and today one of the more senior staff we work alongside (different organisation, same building and purpose) was incredibly rude to me, in front of two colleagues and a patient's relative so am working on the best way forward with the situation as I'm not prepared to be spoken to/treated like that.
On the positive side, I get to go in late tomorrow (after the hospital) and then am not in till late Monday morning after seeing the mw... 4 whole days off!!!

Hope everyone else has had a good day
    Saf xx

Evening all :) Hope we've all had a good day?

My scan went well this morning; Pip is measuring well and all is looking good. The sonographer was lovely and in addition to some pictures that she printed off for us, she printed one off for my sister and wrote down Pip's sex and sealed it in an envelope for us.

We've the rest of the week booked off work - YAY!!
    Enjoy your evening ladies,
    Saf x
  • Very quick reply, very happy ur scan went well today, laptops broke so on phone, but hate writing on here xx
  • Good evening all. Balls! I just wrote a long reply to have it disappear on me.
Helen4891, sounds like all is well. Hope the heartburn settles down. I have to say its something I've never suffered with so don't really know what it's like but I will sympathise.
Saffagal, pleased your scan went well. Hope you're taking it easier now. Sorry to hear about your sister, it must be difficult for you. As for my work, well it's the HR department that have done this. That said, I don't even think my line manager has told them I'm pregnant even though I told him seven weeks ago! The manager is going to look into it but she's on holiday at the moment. I don't hold out much hope, this job has been a bit of a let down.
Chonorla, congrats on team blue. I'm looking forward to finding out this time. I wasn't allowed with my last two.
2ba3c, I hope everything is ok for you now.
Just want a house, Good luck with your scan, hope your back improves and your twinges settle down.

Just a quick question. When did everyone start to feel any movement? I'm waiting for anytime now. I'm almost seventeen weeks. I was just told it can be quite early when it's not your first.
    Love to all. XXX
  • Morning it's soo cold today!!

Can't believe I was up at 2 this morning with the worst heartburn ever, that's a first time to be woke up with it!
I had it really bad with ds2 as well, I had it in labour just before pushing. And my son came out with loads and loads of hair.

Chonorla what sex are your other children??

Saffagal hope things improve for u with work!

    Xx

I think mine was only just before my 20 week scan - the first was odd, it was almost as if there was gas, but it was just one 'bubble', completely in the wrong place, and if it had been gas I'd have had to dash to the loo!!
I do/did have an anterior placenta though so that can make it harder to feel baby as you tend to feel them more at the front than the back. Once it started though hubby could feel them almost immediately as well, he got kicked in the back a few days later in bed ;)

Hiya! I'm 23 weeks and I started feeling her at about 19 weeks, I was unsure if it was kicks or not at that point. I'm now at the stage of being woken up with kicks in the middle of the night. I find that lying down flat (as flat as you can) and having something sugary or freezing cold (or both :) ) helps. Don't worry though, I think it all depends on your size and baby's position and some people don't feel it at all!

by the way im not a stranger I promise! I've been on this thread for ages but we normally post on the fb group so apologies for anyone who I haven't said hellp to! :)
    Saving money like a trouper...
  • I've been feeling this baby move from about 12 weeks, only because it was so low down , and this is 3rd baby so may make a difference, when I had my scan at 13 weeks for my cvs test, I had to pull my nickers down at the top lol, just want I wanted to do!
I've been feeling proper kicks for a good few weeks now I'm nearly 19 weeks and my husband has felt baby move as well.
Everyone feels baby move at different times I'm sure it will not be long..
