Congrats on Team Blue Chonorla! How exciting!
After those 36hrs, are you and baby ok 2b? I really do hope so x
We don't want to find out on our scan - hoping baby cooperates! but I am going to ask the sonographer to write down what baby is on a card and seal it in an envelope. My sister is very ill and without a transplant the docs don't give her past Feb so if it came to it, at least this way I could let her know if she is having a niece or nephew. Do you think the sonographer would do this?
Getting quite excited for our scan now... only 2 sleeps to go!!
Haha, as my birthday is in early December, we have a house rule that Christmas (and associated decorations) only start thereafter.
Thank you, I'll try some more pillows and after it took me an hour and a half to get home tonight, I've already emailed my manager to arrange a meeting; cannot be doing that every day!
Hope we've all had a good day otherwise,

) had hers written in an envelope as she wanted to know and her OH didn't - she hasn't peeked yet AFAIK
. if you explain I'm sure they'll be accomodating. Just to warn you that I know some places don't want to say - in some cases because they're worried you'll pick the gender and abort if it's not the one you were after (I think this depends a lot on the ethnic makeup of the area though) and in others I think they're worried you'll sue if they tell you wrong and you decorate the nursery and buy all gender specific stuff.

Oh am sorry to hear about your sister Saffagal - that is really sad. I can understand your reasoning too. You do have to sign a disclaimer before they tell you, but am guessing that is more to do with the fact that they may get it wrong? But you could explain the circumstances - I can't see much difference between them telling you or writing it down?
I don't usually put the tree up this early its usually around the first week of December. But I have that much to do -DH had Sunday off (he usually works 7 days a week with OT) so that I could sort the childrens bedrooms out before "Santa" comes. And we were up and down the loft all day so got the decs out. Then they were annoying me because they were everywhere and I kept tripping over them plus I have bought a new tree and some new decs and they were doing my head in!! So I made the decision to put them up as soon as 2 littlest were in bed.:) Unfortunately I have gone a little over the top and my eldest says it looks like Santas grotto :rotfl:
I have gone for the old traditional theme (No tinsel - I HATE tinsel) but my new tree does look like a real one (it was expensive...) but its too large for our living room really and its covering half of our very large TV :rotfl: We have 2 large 4 seater sofas and its pointless sitting on one of them, bar the end seat cos you have to strain your neck to see the screen...:rotfl: Never mind it looks pretty(Kids loved it when they got up, so it was worth it!!)
Hope you get the commute sorted out too. You can buy special pregnancy/body pillows too which are longer than an average pillow - they are quite good. Have a look on the internet and Ebay. Think they are quite handy for afterwards, especially if you are breastfeeding.
Hope everyone else is well and has worked out where we are again.............. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
I didnt sign a disclaimer and we found out?
A friend of mine had it written on a piece of paper for her. They wrote what they thought the odds were too. The said 85% sure it was a girl, and it was right,0 -
All of our (4) local hospitals ask you to sign a disclaimer before they tell you. Maybe its different areas? My cousin who lives 180 miles away also signed one before she they told her. its to say that you agreed for them to tell you and you understand that it may not be 100% accurate.0

Good morning all. I'm sorry I've not had chance to read back properly yet. I've been so busy and on a couple of occassions I couldn't find the thread - it's been on a trip! Lol. Hope everyone is doing well and all grotty symptoms are settling down.
AFM I'm unfortunately having to deal with a rather stressful and ongoing situation at work. The management are basically getting us to do twice as much work for the same money and when I had to go for an emergency scan the other week I was docked £100 from my wages for taking the morning off, which would have just been two hours paid work! (and before you ask, no, I am NOT that well paid, I don't know where that amount came from). I have been asked to go and see the manager or write an email with all my concerns but to be honest I have been getting so stressed and worked up about it I don't think I will even bother. I am just not wanting to put myself under too much stress.
Thankfully, at the moment, my bump is fine. I have my next appointment on Friday at 17 weeks. My next scan (as long as things stay ok) is on Christmas eve!
Thank you all, once again, for your good wishes. I will try and read back in more detail later.
Love to all. XXXXXXX0
