Oh my goodness helen!!! What a choice! Can they tell from the tests they did what sex the baby is then?
We have decided we are going to find out at my 20 week scan - just over a week and a half away! For practical reasons really - I have the blankets from my last DS and DD and am trying to clear out so want to know what to keep. Same with a few other bits that are still lying around. We do not have a very big house and its going to be squeezed to the limit with another one in it already! So any space is a bonus for us!!!
Let us know what you decide!!! Those lovely babygros you brought will suit either anyway........xxxxxxx0 -
Oh Helen, what a choice. Had you planned on finding out, if so then go with the chromosome test, like you said it's 100%. If you're not sure, give yourself another 3 weeks thinking time and see what happens at the scan. We're not going to find out, but if we were, I think that I'd just find out from the chromosome test.
Had my 16 wk appt today. Went well, although some leucocytes in urine, could be a water infection, or normal for me, mw wasn't bothered, but had to do another sample to send off from the doctors.
Got to listen to heartbeat. Was lovel and reassuring, DH was tehre too, so nice for him.

Saffagal - No think I had best not even mentioning when I am having a good or bad day regarding the sickness - I seem to jinx myself :rotfl::rotfl: I will just grin and bear it and will let you know when it has disappeared completely!!!
helen4891 - have you decided what you are going to do.......sorry am so impatient0 -
Good evening ladies. Do you mind if I join you? I'm due 11th May.
Just having a worrying time at the moment. I've been experiencing quite a bit of pain and when I wipe (sorry if tmi) It's a bit pink. I contacted my midwife this afternoon and she has made me an appointment at the EPU for the morning and given me a number to ring if it gets worse in the mean time. I'm just so worried. All I can do is wait. I had some bleeding early on and luckily all was found to be ok, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed now. X0 -
hi, i havent decided yet!! i just cant. never thought i would find this hard lol, im goin to sleep on it and decide tomorow or not!
my husband would be soo pleased if i found out and he wants to know, but they will not tell him , only me.. lol
welcome claretsgirl , hope everything is ok. chill out and take it easy for a few days if you can.. fingers crossed for you though.x0 -
helen4891 - bargaining tool there with your husband :rotfl: It was my husband that wanted to find to find out too, I was not bothered either way. I am not sure I would not be able to though, knowing the answer was just a phone call away!!!!!
Hello claretsgirl and welcome
I have bled all the way through this pregnancy (have had haemotomas) - last spotting like you are describing was on Monday and I am nearly 19 weeks. So try and stay positive, sometimes these things have a reason and sometimes no explanation.
After 14 weeks around here EPU will not see you, and Labour ward will not see you till you are 24 weeks. In those middle 10 weeks I have had to go to my doctor and get admitted to hospital that way!! You are in a bit of a No Mans Land round here!!!
Have my fingers crossed for you and am sure you will be fine xxxxxxxx0 -
Evening all
helen, Lovely having the written confirmation that all is well! But having that temptation put in front of you! We've decided not to find out at our scan, but I don't know if I could stick to that decision given that they could tell me with absolute certainty. I guess though you can take your time and think about it as it will remain in your records if you chose to ring up at a later date. Do let us know what you decide, we're a nosy bunch
chonorla, hehe we'll say no more on the subject but will be wishing you well. I think if Pip wasn't our first it would make sense (and appeal to my need to be planned and organised) to know but the only difference it will make as our first is whether or not my sister-in-law passes her little one's wardrobe onto us or not (yes if a girl)- that can wait till Pip has arrived!
lazywife, so glad that your appt went well today and that you got to listen in - it is amazing isn't it, hearing baby for the first timelovely too that your DH was able to be with you and hear it too; made it so much more real for mine when he got to hear the hb.
claretsgirl, Welcome! (and Congratulations!) Is this your first? I can appreciate how worried you must be at the moment, and waiting is horrid when you feel that there is nothing you can doOn the positive side, your mw managed to get you an appt tomorrow morning so it won't be too long before you hopefully get some answers. There can be so many reasons, as I'm sure some of the more experienced ladies will share. I've had odd twinges and pains over the past few weeks, but put them down to growing pains really as my body stretches, adjusts and loosens up to accommodate baby. If it wasn't for the comments from more experienced ladies, on this and other forums, I think I'd have been in a right state some days. Will keep fingers crossed for you too xx
AFM, have a day off tomorrow - YAY!!! So happy not to have my commute tomorrow, the traffic has been so much worse than usual the past couple of weeksI'm really hoping its not a new normal for the winter. As we're away at the weekend I've a few errands to run and then have an afternoon of resting planned; feet up and a good book
Have a good evening all,
Saf xx0 -
Just dropping in to say thank you so much for the wam welcome and kind words. It means so much.
Just had an email from my supervisor at work saying she hopes all is ok but she lost what would have been her second, so knows what it's like! - not sure how I'm meant to feel about that.
Just waiting now. I have to go on my own as OH is away. :-(0 -
clarestgirl hope everything is ok today, thinking of you xx
umm last night, i told me husband about the letter coming through and he was begging me about finding out the sex of baby, so i thought..... Whats in it for me!!! lol

then i said no. he keep asking what i wanted, but i dont know !!!! what do i want. i did say what is my limit on a pram etc.
hope everyone is feeling great today, one more day closer to having our babys in our arms xxx0
