    I've been Money Tipped!
Hey girlies, hope you've had a good week. A big hello to daisyboo.
Saffagal, sounds like your consultant is on the ball. Flexible enough to fit in with your work and yet managing your BP... good call.

Chonorla & Helen sounds like you both might be in for quick labours!

Not much going on with me, got my 16 week appt on Wednesday, don't know if MW will maybe listen to heartbeat then? Would be nice as still fairly symptom free and not a bump that's much different from simply a belly yet! Down's test came back as low risk 1 in 410000 (!) but I have to say I know to take it a little bit lightly as nephew was born with Down's & his tests came back low risk (not sure on actual figures though).

Fighting jet lag tomorrow (come back from 8 hr time difference in Vegas) and back to work Monday ... boooo.

Mine didn't but I think if you ask they might oblige as I'm sure they always have the machine with them for those who are further along.

Hallo all, hope we've all had a good weekend :)

    Welcome daisyboo!
Hope that the jetlag isn't too bad and work isn't too much of a struggle for you tomorrow, lazywife. Mw might listen in, it seems to vary very much across the UK - mine did listen, and my 16wk appt I had at 15+3. I certainly found it very reassuring!

Afm, we've had a busy weekend; out Fri and Sat nights with my inlaws; Brian May's Born Free show on Friday and Swan Lake last night. I did find last night more tiring though as we'd been round theirs since 3ish for one of the niece's 2nd birthday parties... it was a lovely party and good to see the sister and brother inlaws again but I do find it exhausting when the older nephew and nieces are there too as they're so loud. So today I have basically vegged out on the sofa!

  • hello, feels like i havent been on here for ages!
    how is everyone?

im feeling very light kicks now so happy about that .
had my 16 week appointment on friday , and midwife listen for heartbeat , really glad she did as ive been getting paranoid since cvs test, even though ive been feeling little kicks its nice to know im not imaging it!
im suppose to have my birth choice appointment tomrow but im going to have to cancel it , as i cant get bck to pick my son up from school in time, but i dont mind as it kinda spreads my appointment out more. next time im see in the midwife is 4 jan at 24 weeks, thats seems such a long time away! got my 20wk scan on 12 dec, my husband wants to find out the sex of baby and i didnt and know i really dont know if i do or dont ? i really dont know !!

ne one else got heartburn yet??
im craving now, sweets but not chocolate, ive never had cravings before..
  • Hello ladies!!! Hope you are all well!!!

Spoke too soon with the sickness - came back with a vengeance on thursday and friday and ended back in hospital. They have upped my medication and am just able to eat again now - still struggling with fluid though. That will teach me to open my mouth ....:o. Looks like its here to stay again.

helen4891 - yes have the heartburn from hell . Even if I haven't eaten recently and just bend down it sets it off! Though should be thankful I am not sick everytime I bend down like I used to be pre tablets :rotfl:
Its a killer at night too - am propping myself up with a couple of pillows on my side - that seems to help a bit.

I am craving apples and cereal - two foods I never eat when I am not pregnant, and have gone right off chocolate - which I could have lived off pre-pregnancy! Funny things these hormones! I only had cravings with my first - tomato soup and bacon sandwiches - I am vegetarian

We are struggling with whether to find out the sex of the baby too - my scan is two weeks tomorrow. I never found out with the first and second but did with my third - so am completely undecided! I already have a mixture (2 boys and 1 girl) so its not going to be anything different for us!!! I didn't want to know but then hubby kept saying shall we?? So now I don't know either!!!

Saffagal - Think a rest is in order! I get tired much easier now - used to be able to function with a few hours sleep but now I am not a nice person if I don't get a decent amounts sleep!!! No chance of vegging with 3 kids to look after but do make sure I get an earliesh night when possible - am off now!
Glad it went ok with the Consultant and she was so understanding re the monitoring.

lazywife - they may or may not listen for baby - I have had MW's listen at 8 weeks and then this time not till 16 weeks. My Consultant said it was too early at 17 weeks but when I said the MW had already heard the heartbeat he had a try. He took much longer to find it and said he doesn't usually try till after 20 weeks.

On a more positive note - I was given a brand new steriliser, a wrap style baby sling (never used one before and not sure how on earth I will manage to get baby in it - we spent this afternoon trying to get my daughters Baby Annabel in it while I had it on - god help my poor baby when its here...) and a Mothercare Urban Detour 3 wheeler All terrain pram today off Freecycle. Buggy has had all the covers and the two extra cosy toes put through the wash and it looks like new!!! Well worth the box of Quality Street I took them :T
I am not buying anything until my 20 week scan and then I will start getting a few bits together. Just the basics and none of the bits you never actually need or use...Have learnt now its my 3rd baby :rotfl:

Hope everyone is doing well and looking after themselves xxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • chornola, wow for freecycle , ive never been on there! maybe i should have a look!!
sorry about your sickness coming back, sounds horrible thank god ive only had about 5 mornings of being sick.

im not buying ne thing till after xmas and then, im only buying what i really need, as the amount of stuff you do buy and never use with your first is crazy, i didnt go that mad with my second as i keep everything, but as i didnt plan on having ne more children ive got rid of everything and got to start again now!!
the only thing i have looked at so far is a buggy, was in mothercare, as they have clarks at the back of the shop and my husband loved one buggy, turned the price over and it was £999 ( OMG) but the funny thing is he said he would buy it, but i really could not justify spending that much money on a one.

ne way better phone and cancel my appointment now, as ive just remembered, take care xx
  • Good Afternoon Everyone,

    Can I please join? 1st baby due 23rd April 2013 :j
Have so far had scans (11 & 13wks), downs test (low risk 1 in 3700) and appt with consultant due to my dad's diabetes.

Booked in tomorrow with MW for routine appt but am driving myself senseless that something is going to go wrong  Had a fairly normal pregnancy so far, nausea, sickness, big weight loss and now eating normally and have that "is she pregnant or just fat" look going on!!!!

Think I'm going to have to buy a doppler to console myself with each night. Worries are about the cord getting tangled around baby and strangling it, and having a missed m/c.

I just dont FEEL pregnant at the minute :(

I love reading the pg threads though as there's always someone else going through the same thoughts as me, i'm just a big worrier and I need to stop!

    Lou :)
But I want a golden goose daddy and I want it right NOW!!!!!

    Yes Verucca dear. :rotfl:
