Lol Ellie; our service is 90% woman and just a couple of guys - literally. Anything "womanly" and the guys become scarce! Quite funny really
Wow, how did you manage to keep it to yourself that long?

Hope we're all ok today? Had my November "office" day today and wasn't too bad but best of all don't have that responsibility again till December :)

Is anyone else suffering with short term memory loss? I'm usually a very structured and organised person but since being pregnant I can't seem to manage simple things like remembering to take something out to defrost for dinner.

anyway... tomorrow is my day off - YAY and then it's the weekend!

hi saffagal, Yes my memory is in bits, when i first found out i was pregnant i parked in asda and forgot to put the hand brake on and got out my car and some man said your car rolling and i was like umm, !!!! oh yer jump in and pulled brake up.
and then the next time i parked in the same car space in asda and did my shopping was about an hour got back to the car, hunted everywhere for my keys couldnt find them ne where, spent about 10 min looking , turn around and i left them in the ignition
so i do not parked in that space any more.

but other than that , if someone tells me something ive forgotten with in about 15 mins, ive always had a bad memory but this is just a joke now.

Hello ladies - hope you are all well and had a good half term! Well those with kids anyway!

helen4891 - I did that a couple of weeks ago when going to the doctors but there was no one around and I had locked the car! I felt the car moving behind me as I was walking off  Not sure I can blame the pregnancy though - its something I could have done at anytime :rotfl:

I saw my Consultant today so am feeling a little bit more relaxed now. We discussed my anaphylaxia and asthma and he has also stated a homebirth is out of the question - which is fine by me. I was not allowed one last time so had got it in my head I would be in hospital for this one too.

I will not have to see him again till 32 weeks when they will start monitoring the size of my baby due to previous large babies - and in true style I am already measuring 4cm over. He just laughed and said no surprise there :o

As for the fast labours - I am to go to the hospital if I have any twinges - however small! And however many times I think I may be in labour! Other than that I can only be as prepared as possible but he said the chances of it being slower than the last one are slim  They will look into the induction when they see me at 32 weeks.

I had my Downs Syndrome blood test on tuesday and am just waiting for the results. MW said I would hear within the week if I was High risk, but if I do not hear anything I am to presume they have no concerns.

Once I get these results I can start enjoying this pregnancy :) I have heard babys heartbeat twice now and have been feeling it flutter and wriggle for about 4 weeks now, so that is assuring. Just wish this blinking sickness would go now ........

Hope everyone has a nice weekend planned - we are off to Farm Park for a birthday party on Saturday - my 14 year old ds is thrilled with that idea......:rotfl:

    Hallo ladies,

I had a great half term (mainly due to the reduced traffic on my commute during the school hols!), hope that everyone else did too.

So how has everyone's weekend been? Hope you all enjoyed Farm Park chonorla!
We had a family wedding so it was lovely to get everyone together and spend time with them all, though was a little different not having a drink with them... actually was rather amusing as the night went on!

Not looking forward to back to work this week, though it is a short week kind of - have a consultant appt on Wed at lunch time so taking a CPD day as my manager agrees it would be ridiculous me coming in on Wed as I'd only be there a few hours before having to leave again to return home to make the appt.

On the plus side, I'm now feeling Pip moving much more regularly, which is really exciting. Even though I've had two scans already - and Pip was bouncing around at both scans, heard the heart beat, actually feeling Pip is making it so much more real!

    take care ladies

Hi Saffagal - quite lonely on this board isn't it!

The Farm park was really good and my 14 year old had a great time!! There was table tennis and a war museum in there, so hardly saw him! He got some party food too - so totally sorted. Food is always a winner with a 6ft 2 inch 14 year old who can never be full :rotfl:

Ok I now have a tummy like a baby hippo - I look about 8 months pregnant :o I am only 5ft 3 inches and plus measuring 4cm over already - it was never gonna stay a secret :( But I have a feeling I have another chunky monkey on the way :o

I have had no letter from my blood test and it is a week tomorrow...So fingers crossed it is good news and I am classed as low risk :T I won't be able to relax properly till the post has been tomorrow :o

I am still just getting the bubbly/windy feelings when "olive" is dancing - can't remember when I felt the others "properly".

    Hope everyone is well xxxxxxxxxx

Hi chonorla and helen, yes it is rather quiet in here but I don't feel quite ready to move into the "big" thread yet.

glad you all had a good time at the Farm Park; it sounds like a great day out for a range of ages really. Fingers crossed you have good news in the post on your results.

My body is so short - literally I have 10cm from the base of my ribs to the top of my hip bone... means not much wriggle room!

helen, hope that the sickness starts reducing soon x

afm, had a late start to my day which was very welcome and my meeting this evening was shorter than expected - YAY! I've a consultant appt on Wed as mw has classed me high risk and wants me under consultant care; not quite sure what to expect? Any ideas?

have a lovely day tomorrow ladies x

helen4891 - All my others were over 9lb 8 oz so not tiddlers :o I was induced 2 weeks early with the last one because they reckon we would have been looking at a 11-12 lb er  if I had gone full term. They are all really long too between 60-62 cm so guess that doesn't help either :) At only 5ft 3 - it means I get a fair size bump :rotfl:

Saffagal - I have been under Consultant care with all of mine. Firstly it was for asthma, then big babies and quick labours and now added to that anaphylaxia. My consultant is lovely and have had the same one for all of mine - which is nice considering my eldest is 14 years old. He discusses all the risks and what I do in the event of any of them happening - so for now just my asthma and using my inhalers and my epipen if necessary - and the risks to me and baby. I will then be monitored weekly from 32 weeks to check the size of the baby. Obviously quick labours are not something anyone can control but they have discussed another early induction in case - so at least I am safe in the hospital. As large baby plus quick labours are not always a great combination :o They just checked my tummy and listened to the baby. Do you know why you are classed as high risk?

Hugs for the sickness helen4891 - sadly am still with you on that one :( Not pleasant.

Did they say why they'd decided you were high risk?
They decided I wasn't high risk, so essentially if all goes well and you're not under consultant care you never see a doctor during the entire pregnancy, just midwives. (My mother is freaked out by this as she's used to the SA medical environment, which I presume you're familiar with given your username ;) )

If there's something that makes them a little concerned they'll put you on consultant care meaning you'll also see a doctor - depends what for and how bad it is as to how often you see them though, and you can be discharged from the consultant later on.

Saffagal - forgot to say last night - I wouldn't worry too much about it, it is only a precaution. My Consultant only sees me once at the beginning and then monitors me (well size of baby) at the end as he feels I manage the issues I have well.

And none of my pregnancies have been affected by any of the issues they class as "High risk". It is just so they are aware of complications that "may" arise.

(I thought I had better say that - looking back at my last post I look like a nightmare pregnant women with everything wrong with me ) In fact I only had a bit of gas and air with two of them, nothing with the third and laboured completely naturally with them all! Albeit rather quick :)

    xx
