    Hello all.

I'm migrating over from the "Less Than 12 Weeks Pregnant" thread. I hope that's okay. :)

I had my dating scan today and I'm 12 weeks (although DH said that on the screen it said 12+2 but on my paperwork it says 12+0) and my EDD is 7th December. :)

money puddle I only just saw this. We had a similar experience at our 20 week scan. I too really wanted a girl, but was convinced it was a boy deep down, I'd even bought girl things, despite knowing it was a boy. When we asked "Do you know the sex" She said "oh I thought I seen something" and my heart sank because I knew she meant a boy. We also had a few problems at our scan with measurements in the head and the woman turned around and said "oh yes that could mean chromosomal problems, you know like Downs Syndrome do you understand?" That was it, no explanation, NOTHING. Her friend then proceeded to come into the room, and they spoke about what they were doing with there weekends off, and they proceeded to talk about "those new machines" and how they didn't know how to work them.

It was the worst day of my life. I've never actually shared that with anyone, but thought I should to say I understand completely how you feel.

Now my little mans here, I really can't imagine ever having a girl, in fact with my next babies I WANT boys. Everyone tells me they're so much more affectionate and laid back. Hope you're ok xxxx

    hi girls,

hows everyone doing? We've got our 20 week scan tomorrow, very exciting as we are taking our DD with us and she is very excited. We arent finding out what we are having, we didnt find out with her so wont be finding out again.

HOw is everyone coping with this heat, its killing me. I'm hardly sleeping at night :( Also suffering with hayfever not bad but its annoying me. I'm going to go to the docs if it gets worse as the chemist wont give me anything.
Also has anyone been waking up at certain times, for the last 5 weeks i'm waking up between 5.09 & 5.20 every day, i dont need the toliet or anything but again its driving me mad.
I also have had my first hormonal breakdown. I left work at 4.30 on friday to nip home and change my shoes before i picked up DD from Nursery. Someone had broke down on the motorway and therefore i was stuck in the car for over an hour and a half for a 20 mins journey. I had to ring my mum at 5.40 to go pick her up as nursery shuts at 6, and had nursery ringing to ask why no-one had picked her up yet as usually i pick her up about 5. So i was that annoyed/stressed i just broke down in the car, luckily i had my sunglasses on so other people couldnt see me cry.:(:(

Thanks so much for this Gillyx. In an awful way, its really nice to hear someone else had a similar disappointing experience - sorry that sounds horrible but I'm sure you know what I mean :o

I dont think some sonographers realise how important their job is and how important their manner is either, as they are dealing with women (and some men) who are already on an emotional (and hormonal) rollercoaster. I would feel gutted if I upset someone as much as she upset me.

Does your little boy have Down Syndrome or did they get that bit wrong? How thoughtless of her to break the possible news to you that way!

They don't realise, honestly I was so excited for my 20 week scan, finding out the sex, seeing baby again and when I came out I felt like I'd been punched in the stomach. She printed off 2 pictures and the bottom one was torn up the way so half way through the picture.

My little boy is fine, luckily I had 2 appointments with consultants after that, 1 a man who was pretty brutal too, and then 4 weeks later a woman who told me everything was measuring fine and my little boy had no more risk of chromosomal problems than any other baby.

I actually had a re scan with the same woman again due to her not being able to see the chambers of the heart etc clearly, but the consultant could, so I cancelled it, as I just couldn't face seeing her again.

Now when I look back, it doesn't even annoy me at all, some people are just knobs, what can you do :( Big hugs xx

Can I move over from the less than 12 weeks thread?

This is my second pregnancy. I have a DD who is 18 months and I loved the pregnancy thread last time, it was so helpful.

I am 12+1 I think. EDD 10th December, but as i had a section with my DD I hope to get another section at 39 weeks.

Putting this here because putting threads on the benefits board terrifies me!

Does anyone know at how many weeks you let the DWP know that you're pregnant? DH and I are on IS because I'm disabled (I haven't been moved to ESA yet) and he claims CA for me but the only information I can find is claiming benefits if you're pregnant, whereas I need to know at what point to tell them I'm pregnant if I'm already on benefits!
