I'm doing ok thanks moneypuddle. I know exactly where you're coming from though. When are you thinking of having your 4d scan? If I were you, I would wait a week or so until your feelings are less raw. I think there are a lot of expectations placed on pregnant women to look and feel a certain way - they are meant to be happy and excited, and look blooming; I think this certainly doesn't help if you're anything but. Your feelings are completely valid, and don't let anyone tell you differently. Do people at work know you were going for you scan? I think I was lucky in that I didn't have work the next day as it was the weekend, so I didn't have to talk to people if I didn't want to. Talking about it on here helped tremendously though.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Awww, bless you. I had it the other way round. I had a rubbish 12 week scan because the woman was rough, and really didn't care at all. I was excited and nervous and when I came out afterwards, managed to convince myself that there might be concerns because she was so unexcited (daft I know).
My 20 week one though was awesome. The lady smiled and giggled the whole way through, she was so relaxed and turned the screen quite often so I could see what my crazy little man was doing in there.
I have to be honest, I think I'd have been disappointed if I was having a girl. I've never ever wanted a girl. I wouldn't know what to do with one. Sounds awful just admitting that, but I'm sure like others have said...if it happens as soon as I saw her I'm sure I'd be in love either way.

Just jumping over from big girls thread lol...
Money puddle.. We have just had our 4D scan in Leeds...we went to this one
    http://www.thisismy.co.uk/ultrasound-pregnancy-scans-care-packages
It's behind the BMW garage on Scotthall road....was really good and got some great pics.... You might have to wait a few weeks ..they recommend about 27wk which is what I was last week... Baby is a good size then and has filled out a bit so doesn't look too 'alien'.
We got the silver package which was £100, we came away with a disc of still pics, a copy of the actual scan session on dvd and about 15 actual black and white photos.
Hope you feel better soon (hugs)

Moneypuddle, that's so crap that she told you without the others in the room - incredibly thoughtless. If I were you I would write in, doesn't have to be a nasty complaint but if no one complains she won't realise there is nothing wrong with that sort of thing.

Sorry you are feeling down about the gender, as others have said dont feel bad about it and give yourself time x

Hello all - wandering over from the less than 12 weeks thread as I've just had my first scan and they've dated me 13+3, so due date 26th November!

Hi everyone and welcome to all the newbies! It doesn't seem that long since I've had my 12wk scan (it was so lovely!) and the next 1 is approaching already. I just can't wait! I have lots going on at the minute so time is really flying!

Anyway, just a quick post as I could do with some opinions. I'm not sure what to do. I've been having some pains on my left side for the past 3 days now. So far I've only been getting a few twitches here and there. Initially I just assumed it was because it's my first pregnancy and the muscles are stretching, etc, but the pain isn't really going away so I'm not sure if I should be concerned??

I keep telling myself that it's just the muscles but is it really? I have a small frame and although I'm 19+4 Im still not showing. I have to wear maternity clothes but unless they know I'm pregnant, people just think I've got a bit of a belly so I'm wondering if this is just my body trying to stretch more as I can definitely tell that the belly is growing bigger quicker now.

I haven't really had any other symptoms out of the ordinary. Am I exaggerating here or should I call someone tomorrow?

It could be ligament pain, but if worried get it checked out. My hip and lower bump are now in constant pain due to ligaments.

I get ligament pain pretty constantly as well. I'm of a small frame. But I've had ligament pain before so knew what it was straight away. :D

I agree with the others, if your concerned get it checked out. I went to the docs today after my funny turn due to overheating at work yesterday. Turns out I have a UTI as well. Doh! Always worth getting checked out.

Thank you for your replies. I only really complain when I'm in a lot of pain and I was concerned because the pain was pretty sharp and quite intense as well.

I was going to GP today but OH is away and when I mentioned I was in pain, he was pretty worried so I ended up going A&E last night. A bit embarrassing because the doctor explained that the pain wasn't near my womb and her best guess is that I'm constipated :o

At least I know that all is well though! Thank you!!

Better to be a little embarrassed than have something seriously wrong and not do anything.

Maybe a bit more fibre for you, but it is perfectly normal during pregnancy.
