Not always the case though so if you can have a full bladder I'd have one as I was sent away to drink more water, my boys always been quite low down and even now at 25 weeks, i look about 18-20 weeks bumpwise and they couldnt get a good look at parts despite 3 attempts so i had to go back in 2 weeks which was agony!!
so i would say drink, drink!!

Easier to have a full bladder and be told to go empty it than go with an empty bladder and be told to go fill it.
I'm impatient I want my scan date through. If I had stayed in Ripon I would have had it by now as they wanted to do it at 17 weeks, I'm wondering if the consultant on Monday morning will tell me when my scan date is though or if it's a case of wait for a letter to come through. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Ive emptied my bladder before each of my scans as I find it just to uncomfortable, i tend to get there and book in and then pop to the loo and have a glass of water while I wait.
Our scanning dept seem to be getting worse and worse at running on time though so some times ive been to the loo more than once, never been told off yetBow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -

I just have to share the "wonderful" comment that came out of my 4 years old mouth last night.
I said to her, look mummy belly is starting to get bigger, she said oh yeah, turn around. So i did, her next comment was "That baby is making your bum bigger too"

Sorry I've been AWAL. It's a busy old time at work and I've been in pass out mode as soon as I get home.
That said, I'm 23 weeks on Monday and am feeling my little boy more and more every day. Had my first alien moment of watching something stick out from my belly button and dart across my belly. Was so strange.
My best friend made me cry today as well. Her little boy was rushed to hospital yesterday because he's really poorly (he's 13 months old). Anyway, he was allowed home today and they popped to the shops to buy some food in. The next minute I got a text to say they'd bought us a Moses basket...their treat. I'm so touched.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Hello sorry for gatecrashing your thread I'm not pregnant but my daughter is :T. Herself and boyfriend have been buying little bits and bobs and are now looking at buggies, cots, furniture etc and can't make their minds up and invited me along to see what I think. They are looking at Tutti Bambini furniture sets which are amazing value for money but are all online and the reviews are bad both for customer service and quality
Does anyone have any experience of these products?
And buggies? What ever happened to good old prams, pushchairs and car seats, these contraptions are mind boggling.
And whilst I'm on does anyone have any opinions on these changers on top of the drawers or that glide along the cot top?

OH and I went into town today. A little girl was crossing the road with her mum in front of us, carrying a balloon on a stick, like the free ones you get form pizza hut. It flew off out of her hand and up the street, and the ear-piercing scream she let out was enough to stop everyone isn their tracks.
OH darted off, collected the balloon from the middle of the road and ran to meet the little girl around the corner with her balloon. She stopped crying straight away and her mum looked so grateful.
I was proudI think OH is going to be a great daddy. :j

I've just booked to go to NCT antenatal classes, but they are fairly pricey (they do provide a discount for those on benefits or low incomes - combined income of less than £26160 I think). It's a 16 week course in my case, and runs mostly in the evenings (the NHS ones here seem to run in the daytime on a Saturday when my DH works, and only seem to be a couple of sessions long).
Thanks, our income is well above the minimum and we dont get any benefits, so I dont think we would get any help. I would like to go but just think we might be better spending the money on other stuff instead :cool:0 -
jetplane we don't intend to buy an on cot changer or changing table - a changing mat on the floor in my mind is much safer (no chance of the baby accidentally falling or rolling off from a height. I suspect that when I've first had the baby though, the changing mat could be put on top of our bed (not close to the edge), just to stop me having to bend down too much in the early days (never know if I'll need a caesarean). We looked at a top of cot changer in Babies r Us yesterday, and to be honest, they seemed extremely hard for a baby to lie on too.
Buggies are an absolute minefield - we just wanted a simple pram too, and didn't want to spend an absolute fortune either (£2-300 at the most ideally), but when we went looking in the shops yesterday, we soon found out that the budget wasn't too realistic, and fell in love with the Bugaboo Bee (Plus) as it is small, fairly lightweight, suitable from birth and doesn't have to be taken to pieces to fold up. Unfortunately, it's also fairly pricey (just under £600 in John Lewis, although I've been researching on the net today, and think I can get it closer to £500). My DH talked to MIL yesterday, and she said she's happy to buy it for us despite the price, so hopefully we'll get one nearer the time (maybe once the newer model has been out a little longer, it may have more special offers on it - our baby is due end of September).
Cot - we've decided to go for a package that Babies r Us is running at the moment - it is on the Henley cotbed, and you get the bed, matress, bedding, and changing mat for £199.99. My Mum and Dad have kindly offered to buy us this.
moneypuddle my friend was in a similar situation - earned too much combined to get any discount on the antenatal classes, so went to the postnatal classes afterwards (made some really good friends there who coincidentally have all been pregnant with number 2 at the same time as she was as well), and just went to the NHS antenatal classes. She also paid to go to some of the mother and baby classes as well. This may be a better option for you.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170
