When did it happen for you guys, the first flutterings?
Dizzi - I'm finding it really hard to imagine what you look like! The picture you've painted is pretty amusing. Glad you're loving it though!
I had B-shaped bump for a while, it is just filling out now. It doesn't bother me, it is bump nonetheless!!!!!
I still can't feel them kick really. I think I felt it a few times in the last week or so, and I managed to get the first kick on doppler the other day, but nothing very prominent or something that would make me stop and say it is baby kicking. The boy was head down for a while now, maybe he is stuck that way? The girl has been head down and then head up over the last few weeks (only know because of the scans). I know they are moving, as I can feel the bumps under the skin, when it very hard, and then they move and it is all soft within few minutes. I am 23w+3. I have been feeling 'pressure' since about 15 weeks or so, but now i know it was not kicks, just the babies moving. I have anterior placenta with both of them!!!!!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

I expect it's your placenta that's preventing you feeling much. Plus individually they may not be as big as a singly so not strong enough for you to feel them yet. Or maybe they're just too busy kicking each other to bother with their mum"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
My first movements felt like someone was blowing a raspberry inside my uterus! Now it's definite kicks, which I think may become quite uncomfortable as time goes on, judging at how strong it seems to be already  (I'm 21+2). Baby also seems to think my bladder is a trampoline!
As for bump shape, I've defo started looking pregnant in the last couple of days. Bump is a proper bump shape rather than the "is she just fat or is she pregnant" look I was sporting for a while!0 -
rebekahR - I wish I was being ignored!!! My MIL is obsessed with babys, but only small ones. As soon as the next person has one she swans off and bugs them intensely untill the same thing happens. I'm desperate for someone to announce their pregnancy at the moment.
MrsExcited - My bump seems to change daily, sometimes I'm all out in front and the next its really wide. I also find it nearly disapeers after a bath as it all seems to sink in lol.
dizzi - im 1.3% into the obese weight range so im high risk to, but now under that due to all the sickness issues I've had. Not sure if I will get weighed again at next scan though and escape their clutches lol. I've seen on OBEM that they now make extremely long epidural needles so hugely hugely obese people can have them. (nothing implied)
I've had a dull day today, was sick first thing when I woke up but that isn't unusual and not so bad on an empty stomach. Deffo not as sleepy as I have been though.

lots of bump talk - i am thin so i would just look fat to you if you didnt know i was pregnant 16+ 3 today.
Rebekah - families can be really difficult sometimes, maybe just let your mum and sister sort their own relationship out as they are both adults and its quite stressful being the inbetweer. unfortunately we cant choose our families.
feeling ok at the moment, tired and an aching back thats about it.
went to watch woman in black last night at cinema, found it really scary but then i am a wimp.
what are people eating to qwell the hunger?

Thats why I joined the thread really, I've been really lazy about chronicling my life so far (I’m just not a picture taker or a blogger/diarist/whatever) so thought here might be the best place to track what I'm predicting will be a very strange but exciting adventure for me!
Where has your dad moved to? It's a fascinating country but very culturally fragmented. Beijing and Shanghai are just like any other major city in the world, but the countryside is still stuck somewhere in the 1950’s.
Yes this is the year of the Dragon and it is a major thing for the Chinese to have a dragon baby so as I mentioned a few posts ago there is a huge baby boom, which is leading to major problems such as getting prenatal appointments and actually getting a bed for delivery. The hospital we are registered with (you cannot change once you create your ‘profile’) is fully booked up until the end of September with people qeueing overnight in order to apply for one.
Because of the one child policy hospitals do not tell parents the gender because it creates the issue of selective abortions. Culture dictates that children look after their parents in old age so having a son is preferred as they will earn more and be able to take better care of them.
Attitudes are slowly changing however as China develops, and these attitudes are now pretty much obsolete outside of the big cities as equality and wages in the workplace for women are improving massively.
Being a foreigner I am not subjected to the one child policy, but we are only able to register one as a Chinese citizen. We will be moving to a private hospital when OH reaches six months and I believe they do tell you gender if you want to know. Now I think about it however I'm not sure if I do want to know!
OH is desperate for a boy, and I want a girl so that's a recurring argument
If you have any questions, or just want hints on visiting China don't hesiatte to ask!
Hi Big Alf! Will send you a PM re: Dad's whereabouts, it's an obscure place that it would instantly identify anyone!
My husband is desperate for a girl and I'm starting to think a boy would be good. Anything mind you
Are you there for a while then re: child as Chinese citizen? My older brother was born in Asia but parents didn't go for dual nationality as he would have been called up for national service  now and then I think that may have been a good idea for him though
I will definitely be bothering you for tips if I end up going there in April, especially on how a pregnant woman copes out there!!
going to read rest of thread now, sorry for hi-jacking

Ahh can't multi quote?!
useless me. I want the bump just so its a clue that I am actually pregnant. I can't wait for when odd body parts stick out too, hehe.
I'm quite tall and slim but at 13 weeks, I feel I look fatter though people are telling me now. I'm not sure if my uterus has travelled up though? and though some work trousers were tight, it is hard to know if that's just because I've put on weight, which I have from only being able to stomach rubbish.
Those of you near to me in Cardiff, NCT are holding a nearly new sale on Sat. Never been s don't know how good they are but as its half term we're going to pop along I think and see what we see. There's another one in May so could reccy it. http://www.nct.org.uk/branches/cardiff/events/cardiff-caerphilly-nct-nearly-new-sale-0
Rebekah, I'm so sorry your mums not more excited. Mines driving me mad and works in a doctors so brings me bounty packs, tries to get me to change midwives - to one that is ages away, and is referring to herself as granny even though so many things could still go wrong.
Where I do think I have a bump, it has been sore these last 2 days. I have gone back to an old job for some money and though its mainly sitting down, it seems to knacker me (as people keep asking lots of baby things!) and also have a sore bump, now. hope thats normal, but who knows.
I have a blood test for downs in 3 weeks, is there a scan then, too? I'm sure I read somewhere that there was but now think I imagined it...
how is everyone else? (and sorry for the epic-ness, I've missed you all!)

Triangle, have you spoken to your local Children's Centre/Sure Start Centre about classes?
Mine has a bump to 12 month group and runs different classes such as breastfeeding, antenatal, baby sing and sign, and baby first aid. I haven't started attending yet but hoping to start going to the bump-to-12mth group from next week.
Yes, I popped into local Children's centre, lots of great stuff to get involved with when little man arrives - baby massage, breastfeeding, baby sign, buggy excerise - but nothing for mums to be (anymore - used to be). They have my details in case any new classes run.
Thanks
