Hi guys,
I hope you all had a good weekend.
Sorry I haven't had chance to read back and will do in my lunch break but I just wanted to ask some questions cos I've been getting a bit worried.- I'm 16+3 and I swear my bump has shrunk! Can someone reassure me this is normal?
- I've been getting pains at the bottom of my stomach, strong stretchy pains, not all the time. But they really hurt when I get them. Do you think this sounds like ligament pain?
What do you guys think?0 -

My bump comes and goes, depending on what I've eaten and how bloated I feel. Sometimes it's rock hard too, and other days it's softer. I guess this is pretty normal.
Your pain definitely sounds like ligament pain. You have a 'band' of ligament exactly where you're describing and I remember feeling this sort of pain around the same time as you. It didn't happen often, but could be incredibly sharp at times. It also could catch me unawares if I got up too quickly or rolled over in bed.
Whenever I approach a scan or midwife appt I start (extra) worrying, simply because I always do if someone's about to check me for anything. I suspect the cancelled appt has made you feel a little more anxious too. Plus at 16 weeks you won't have the continual soothing feeling of your baby moving regularly to reassure you it's still wriggling around in there.
Everything you've said I've thought myself only to discover that things are absolutely fine
On a completely different note... weird baby-related dream last night. Beyonce made an appearance to advise me on baby monitors."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
24 weeks today! Feeling rubbish more than ever - got really bad groin pain yesterday (well, slipping sidewise didn't do it any good) and had hip pains all night, so had to keep turning from one side to another all the time! Never mind, we reached that next magical stepping stone in this journey, and I am just happy for this!

That's exactly what I had at exactly the same time... I had a chat to a friend who is a few weeks ahead of me and she described the same thing, although her ligament pain was so bad she couldn't stand up straight for a day poor thing....
I guess everyone is slightly different. I still get slight pains now sometimes if I roll over in bed or get up too quickly. But the important thing is that you can still go to the loo without pain, and that you don't have any bleeding. If you do have issues with either, call your midwife. I'm pretty sure that is what they recommend.
For me, when tha pain started I'd also been to Pizza Express at lunch and for dinner the day before, so had eaten a lot which I suspect didn't help! I immediately panicked that it was the pizza... The idea of 5 months without pizza was horrid!!:rotfl:

Hi Ladies,
I haven't been on in a while, hope everyone is feeling well.
I'm feeling great with energy levels back to (nearly) normal, though when I do do alot during the day I'm in bed for 9pm!
Does anyone else get abdominal pain after peeing? I have had a look on the internet but can't find much info.
Thanks0 -

Yes! I do and I'm wondering why too. I'm coming up for 22 weeks and sometimes the top and front of my bump hurt, it feels muscular and I think it's either my uterus or my abdominal muscles stretching.
When I'm suffering, if I go for a wee it makes it worse. It's almost like my bladder's been propping up my womb, and when I deflate it my womb 'drops' and it feels like it's pulling at the top.
That's my incredibly unscientific explanation which is probably completely wrong but I've no idea what's going on"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

:hello: everyone
I did see all your posts re: scans and blood tests and nuchal translucency but then had to prepare for yet another observation and totally lost it everytime I went to reply on here.
So, I definitely thought it was a nuchal translucency scan I was having with the bloods but as I'm 13+5 today and MW said it had to be booked for 16 weeks just to take my blood, I'm just having blood tests. That same week I have to book to see MW at my doctors though so will I get to hear heartbeat then? I'd be 16 weeks and I'm in Wales if that makes a difference. I have to book in to get the blood test results back from the scan 2 weeks ago.
Otherwise how will I know there is a baby in there until the 20 week scan?? Argh, someone in work who had IVF said to me that she would have loved a glass/see through stomach for the 9 months she was pg and thats exactly how i am feeling - argh! It does seem to be going quickly which im grateful for.
Hope I haven't jinxed myself as found some stunning newborn photographers in my area last night to price for a budget! All the way up until my scan i wouldnt let myself get excited though so hoping its okay to be now...
(((hugs to all)))
p.s. We bought our first baby things on Sat, just some clothes etc at a nearly new sale (outfits for 1 and 2£ each and excellent condition) and Triangle, I started a spreadsheet with 4 different pages - things we have, things we want/need, money we've spent and clubs joined!! made meand think of you and your to do lists!
