First definitive kick last night (actually just about feelable outside as well) - until then I've had bubble pops, moving on into definite wriggles, and the hideousness of wriggles against your cervix (which I can only describe in strangeness as being on a par with when you used to put Crunchie wrappers onto the fillings on your teeth as a kid for the really strange feeling that gave you).
Mine's probably a girl - no evidence of any dangly bits so I'm taking that as it's either a girl, or it's a boy with some serious issues!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

I booked mine at my 12 week scan, did you receive your 12 week scan appointment in plenty of time or is your local maternity unit not very organised?
If you've had your other appointments arranged quite early it may be worth giving the department a call and making sure they have you on their system.
It may be that the appointment has been made but the letter has got lost or delayed in the Christmas post, there's no harm in checking.I was asked to call the hospital and book my 20 week appointment after the 12 week one. If I were you, I would call the hopsital/midwife and ask about it. It could be that they have sent out a letter, but the fantastic Royal Mail may have lost it in Christmas mail. You don't want to wait until 20 weeks!
hey - not at the 12 week i asked and they said - oh no we don;t book at the 12 week for the 20 we'll send you out a letter.
I was at the midwide on Monday (for my belated 16 wk check due to Christmas) and I said to her about not receiving a letter yet and she said they only normally give you 7-10 days notice (which to be fair was about when i received the letter for my 12 wk scan). She said to call her next wednesday if i still havent heard anything.
Must differ depending on the health board.0 -

Yeah i think it does differ - I never got mine at the 12 week scan, I got it in the post with about 5 weeks notice.

Yeah in ours they book you in for your next whack of appointments at your previous one (unless my midwife's forgotten to give her following month's appointment slots to the GP reception again - hence my 24 week check will be on week 25 - despite me having tried for the last week to book it - grr)!
Just succeeded in the impossible - found some non-pink girls' clothes (working up the 3-6 month stockpile now)!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Got my test results from last week back. Urine is fine, no infection, but the iron is low at 9.7, so I am getting a prescription for iron. I really hope it will help with the fatigue and tiredness.
However, I still have the pain in my side, which consultant thought might be because of the infection, but since I don't have the infection, I have no idea what that could be. If it is still there tomorrow, and I am brave enough, I might ask if it is possible to speak to the midwife when I go to collect the prescription tomorrow.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

Or you could be buying a gift for someone. We waited until after the first scan to tell people but , as we were saying at the time, to be honest if they are anything like my OH brothers/friends, I probably could have got to about this stage (21 weeks with a bump) before they even noticed :rotfl::rotfl:so they might not make the connection even if they did see you, but if you are more comfortable with the whole thing after the scan, it's something to look forward to after scanDebt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016
