nice to see this thread a bit busier!!
laura my way of explaining BH is they are jus like tightenings/or like practice contrations. i used to get them along the top of my bump, a crampin sensation which lasts for a few seconds (maybe like 10 but seems longer) then would repeat a few times. others might not agree with this but everyone is different and not everyone gets them. my next door neighbour, who is due in 3 weeks, with her 3rd, thort she was labouring a few nights ago but they turned out to be BH but she had never had them befor.
thanks for the freebe list, i got some good vouchers yest and alot of junk emails!! cant wait to pick up my free nappies from asda an tesco! and i love gettin something excitin in the post so that should keep me happy for a few weeks!!:rotfl:

Hello all. Making a preliminary visit here. I am 12+1 today. Scan will be Thursday so will dip in and join for real after then. I really need to get some more bras and maternity tights etc. After all the talk of m&s being good I took a look at their site but it looks like they only do them in specific sizes? I am hoping to go to mother care and get some tha stretch several sizes so u can wear for maternity and breast feeding also. I am kinda of banned at the moment by hubby from mother care as he hasn't told his mates yet. And he is scared I will be spotted ...0

I know lol. Mainly I have settled down over the past week, Still a bit sickly on and off but nothing like it was before. Still tierd and having the odd really bad day where I am so breathlessly tierd I can't do anything like yesterday. But overall feeling better. Just can't wait to get the scan over with and then I can start writing lists and allow myself to step in mother care etc lol.0

Hi lovely to see you on hereI think any maternity bras have at least the extra hook at the back (so 4 hooks) so they last a while. The ones I got do have nursing clips but I don't think they will still fit then :rotfl:
Hope your scan goes well, it will all feel so real after thatDebt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

I had one scan at 7 weeks due to bleeding. The heartbeat was present in the little leaf lol. But I still bled for another 10 days after but wasn't rescanned. So whilst I'm sure all is fine I am quite scared for Thursday. Even if that is all ok I need to harrass them for more information on my heartshaped uterus as that will most likely cause some problems down the line if its severe. They only told me I had one at the 1st scan and not anything else and i've worried since.0

popping over from less than 12 weeks preg thread, i am 10 + 1 today and would like a bit of advice about waist extenders as i am starting to feel uncomfortable in a few pairs of my trousers.
just wondered what people recommend? was just looking on ebay as some are just buttons with elastic and others have material inserts...what worked for you?
many thanks
Laura

Greetings! We're 15+2, feels somewhat surreal now. My DW's stomach is barely noticeable but the "opening top button of trousers" trick seems to be getting her through, without buying any maternity clothing yet.
We had a consultant appointment this morning, the scariest thing ever. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat. Makes it all real, to think that my DW has two hearts beating inside her!!!
Two questions:
a) we also received the results from the Downs testing. I think that 1 in 650 is a good and low chance, right? We shouldn't be worried, should we?
b) has anyone bought a doppler thing to listen to the baby's heartbeat? Is it worthwhile? Obviously kicks is a good way to track, but would hearing the heartbeat also be helpful? Any feedback/comments gratefully received!
And yeah, RebekahR, time really does fly. Hopefully Thurs will be problem-free and you'll be able to go mad in mothercare... (buying stuff for you, not the baby, not yet anyway)
Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0 -
If you're a worrier whowantstobrich, I wouldn't get a doppler, my doctor struggled sometimes to find the heart beat up to about 28 weeks with me sometimes, as it all depends on how baby is laying etc. So if you'd panic if you couldn't get a heartbeat I wouldn't get one.The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
