ginvst couldnt you try your doctor to get a sick note? in my last pregnancy the midwife wasnt at all bothered with my tales of feelin ill and just said it was all part of being pregnant so suck it up, the next day i went to my gp and he put me on sick til the start of maternity. think i was about 32 weeks but if you just need a week or two to get back on your feet it mite be worth trying there xxx

Hope you ahve managed to relax a bit today Gin. I think my baby hate being back at work, wont stop kicking me!! (or it could be that I am squashing the poor thing when I lean against my desk) :o

Lisa, all calm again now, it is measurements over 10 like you said, few! :)

Thanks all. I would feel guilty of taking up GP appointment and asking for the sick note... Will try and keep going on. Will see what bloods and urine sample show, I might have to collect enough courage to ask for note next time used midwife or consultant.

Ah Gin, there's two in there and that's a lot of baby, do try to get plenty of rest and take the weight off your feet.

Today we had the nursery room painted, I love it! Feels a bit odd to have an empty room in the house, think we'll start buying things this weekend when I reach V day, feels very real now!

Desperate for DH to feel her kicking, he's felt some movement but she saves her best kicks for when I'm at work unfortunately, my LO is definately in protest at being back on an uncomfy deskchair Laura! Told my boss I'm not comfortable with travelling for work anymore, I usually do two 6hr round journeys a month, he was understanding so feeling better about putting in my mat leave notice now.

    Morning all.

Nice to have something positive to say for a change - VDay for me today!!!

And something interesting (to me anyway!!), googled centile charts for adults yesterday and found that hubby's head measures below the 3rd centile - same as baby!!! Obviously the internet is not the most reliable source of info so it may not be entirely accurate but I'm slightly encouraged by it!! Only spent about 5 mins looking late last night so will do a bit more research to see if other sources back it up!

My baby seems to be moving loads more now, this last week its been really active most days, usually has a few quiet days and a couple of active ones but its been much more this week!

Oooh if any of you like roo from winnie the pooh Tescos have some lovely baby clothes with him on at the minute and they'd be fine for boy or girl. I bought bubs a little sleep suit from there the other day, think it might be his/her coming home outfit.

Congratulations on V day Lisa, as happydays said, good luck with the MRI, it's funny how pregnancy is a time of really mixed experiences and emotions and I've loved having this little community to share things with, see you on the 'big' thread tomorrow when LO and I move across!

    Congrats on V day!

Madam Bumpette is now sulking and kicking the living daylights out of me because I decided to spend the afternoon attempting to get the spare room/dumping ground for "where the hell do we put this/nursery-to-be under some semblance of order... I don't recommend crawling around under beds and lifting stuff into high cupboards with a knackered pelvis and back! All the spare room crap is now sorted into piles or put away elsewhere - just need to get the couple of bits of furniture that we're storing with other people until needed (daft getting rid of a single bed when we'll need it back in years to come) up to them and the room's empty and ready to go... working on washing the baby clothes we have and putting them temporarily into labelled drawers by age (so have newborn/small as heck 0-3, 0-3 and 3-6 drawers on the go) to start to get some semblance of order into it all!

Least the room's now almost a blank canvas ready to paint/stick furniture into.

Hooray! I have an appointment on Tuesday and I can go see the consultant afterwards so don't have to do the 150mile round trip twice!!
