Wow, I thought I was organised!!
Are you local to Kiddicare then? I am fairly close by in Cambourne (8 miles from Cambridge)0 -
Lisa, sorry to hear things are still up in the air with baby, if all measurements are a bit below though fingers crossed it will just be because baby is a bit smaller than average but at least they are doing everything they can to try and make sure for you. Were they showing as below average at the 20 week scan as well? Just wondering as our baby was below in some areas and I seem to remember the head being the most out. I put the measurements in to a (cant remember what it was called off hand) and I'm sure the head measurement came up at around 17 weeks. No comments were made about it from the sonographer or consultant? I'll get my maternity notes out later and tell you what the measurements were, it might reassure you a bit xx
Hi Laura, lovely bump pic! Sounds like your head measurements might be similar to mine then! I'd be grateful if you would share. We only got a femur length measurement at the original 20 week scan as that was all they could get at to measure so we had it repeated last week at 22+5 and the actual head measurement was ok, only the one measurement inside was small but the doc yesterday measured it smaller which took it off the bottom of the scale. I assume thats just due to 2 different people measuring with different equipment and baby in a different position on a different day!0 -
Hi Lisa, hope you're feeling a bit better today, and what you're saying is completely right about the different people and different equipment, my consultant actually said that to me. I've done nothing but think about you since last night, and I know exactly how you're feeling. Once they get you back you'l probably find he/she has grown again and everything is fine. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Right Lisa, hope this helps.
Measurements at 20+5
BPD: 45MM (2 weeks behind according to the averages in my maternity notes)
HC: 174MM
CM: 5.7
TCD: 19.9MM
AC: 151MM
FL: 31.1MM
HC/AC: 1.15
BPD/FL: 1.45
The only measurement that was not below average on mine was the CM but I actually dont know what CM stands for lol! I dont really get how the head circumferance can be normal yet the width (BPD) can be two weeks behind? I think like other people said it depends a lot on what position baby is in, dont forget the head will be very soft so if it is squashed up when they measure it might give a false reading.
Hope you feel a bit more reassured now, if the size of my bump is anything to go by I think my baby is growng just fine but we do have another scan with the consultant on 27th feb to make sure xx0 -
Hi Laura, thanks. The CM is one of the measurements in the head but from what I can see on google it is worse if it is enlarged rather than small. My measurement for it yesterday was 4.5mm so hopefully for that one atleast its a good thing to be small!!
The HC was 185mm yesterday but the local hospital measured it at 201 last week but baby was head down then and is now breech. the BPD yesterday was 52.1, they didn't measure it last week. The head circumference and femur length are both bigger than yours and had both increased from last week so that should be a goo sign! Last week's scan was at 22+5 and this week was 23+4.
It just goes to show how some places make a big deal of it and others don't although I think mine are still more below average than yours but its difficult to compare with our dates at scans being different. the only one I can compare fairly directly is femur length as they measured that at my first 20 week scan when I was dead on 20 weeks at that was 31.4mm so almost identical to yours!
I guess the thing is that whatever is or isn't happening we can't do anything about it! Whatever will be, will be!0 -
Now I'm worried my CM measurement is too large!! Though just had a huge kick from baby, probably saying Mummy stop being so silly I'm fine :0) Every baby is different and as you said what ever will be will be, I'm still super excited.
The measurements were different at the first 20 week scan we had at 20+1, they were:-
BPD: 43.7
HC: 171
TCD: 19.8
VENTRICULAR ATRIUM: 7.6
AC: 149.5
FL: 31.6
HC/AC: 1.14
BPD/FL: 1.38
Not sure why the CM thing wasn't measured at the first 20 week scan?0 -

Ooh sorry, didn't mean to worry you! When it was talking about the CM being enlarged it was measurements in double figures so much bigger than yours! Don't forget mine is small! I had lots more measurements yesterday with the consultant than at the 'normal' scan so its probably just that they go into more detail if they have you back to check things out.0 -
So, I am back from my appointment. For the hip pain I was offered codeine and referral to physio. Headaches and stuffy/bleeding nose - will just monitor, if I get the nosebleed I can't stop go to A&E. As I am so tired, they decided to repeat the bloods to check iron levels, as last time it was just above border line. Also, they something they didn't like in the urine sample, so they are sending that to the lab to check for infection. All in all, it went well, although I was hoping to get a week of work or so, just so I can get some rest. I am working from home for the rest of the day, so decided 'to move' my office to the sofa... Maybe not the best idea, but at least I can have my feet up and don't need to go up and down the stairs for a drink/snack/etc.
I will be getting scans every 4 weeks now just to check the size/position of the babies, and also the consultant/midwife appointments at the same week. As the consultant is only one morning a week at the hospital, I will need to try and make sure that I get them both at the same day... So, next time I am there - is for the scan and then 2 days later for the consultant appointment.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
