Congratulations on V-day snoopy, wednesday for us :0)

Me and the OH did a massive baby shop today with the vouchers and cash we got for Christmas, we got:-
    *Moses basket and rocking stand
    *Manual breast pump
*Newborn bottle stater kit with bottles, dummy, bottle brush (so OH can feed baby my breast milk if I can manage to do it!)
    *Microwave sterilizer
*Maternity pads, breast pads and disposable breifs
    *Nappy sacks
*Baby health care kit with, brush, thermometer, toothbrush etc
    *Changing mat
    *Angelcare movement and sound monitor
Think thats it! :0) Not much more we need to get now as I had already started buying basic clothing and nappies. MIL is going to buy the cot for us and my Mum is taking us shopping at the end of the month for the travel system so should just be a couple of small bits left to get after that. We have moved the sideboard from the lounge to the nursery and it goes perfectly in the room, and perfect height to use as a changing table. It is starting to look lovely in there now, got the curtains and lightfitting up that came from OH's sister, soooo excited!!

I have a wriggler too, likes to kick Daddy in the back when we go to bed ha ha ha. Its really strange how you can feel movement down by your pelvis and up under your ribs at the same time but I guess baby is growing rather rapidly now - and me, I have put on a stone now since getting pregnant and feeling very aware of it. Still in size 8 maternity clothes though so shouldnt worry too much I guess.

Right, I think I've done enough waffling now :0)

    Good luck tomorrow Lisa xx

I was so excited the day we did our big baby shop - great isn't it!

I am really heavy anyway, but I now weight 7lb less than the first weigh in at the midwife appointment at 8 weeks. Lost a stone before I started putting weight back on - but have eaten like a horse lol. Just don't get it, but am steadily putting it back on now x x

Do you have Excel on your computer? If you do - send me a PM with your email address and I will send you my bible list! There is way more on there than you will "need" but it will give you an idea - and then you can make your own list!

The hospital list is a link on the main thread list that I just updated with my details on!

    Men are just t"%ts sometimes!!!! x x x

Can i be cheeky and send you my email address too? I'm 17 weeks +2 today.

I haven't bought anything yet or read much to be honest - plan to do that in the next 3 days when I am off before going back to work.

Santa did bring me a bath themometer and a stick in the fridge rubber ring teether thing in my stocking! Along with 2 packs of gaviscon for the heartburn I've been told by my Mum and Sister I'm bound to get!

I was bad earlier this evening. I spent £18.50 on a non necessity.. an angelsounds doppler from amazon.. I havent heard the heartbeat yet cos my 16 week checkup should ahve been on xmas eve and the first appt I could get after xmas with my midwife was 9 january.. so I decided that will keep me going so will mean I wont want to get a private 3d or 4d scan.

Morning all, hope everyone's feeling well and had a good Christmas/New Year - it seems amazing that by next Christmas life will be a lot different :)

I'm now 17 +4 and have started to show, much to my OH's delight :) Got my 1st obstetrician appointment on Friday, OH is coming with me because I know otherwise I'd get home and he'd ask me questions which I hadn't thought to ask at the appointment :p

I presume it's just going to be a quick chat to see what extra support I/the baby may need during the labour and to discuss whether I need to have any extra appointments/scans. There's a chance that he'll want to order a detailed fetal heart scan at ~22weeks to check for abnormalities.

My midwife thinks he'll want me to have a planned birth and induce me early but I'm not exactly happy with that idea at this stage as from the point of view of my health (I have epilepsy and hydrocephalus, both treated and controlled) there is no medical reason for an early induction.
Of course if later in the pregnancy something happens which makes it medically important to have an induction (inducement?) then that's different.

I'm a bit wobbly on my feet at the moment, my centre of balance seems wrong - I presume this is just getting used to getting a bump?

Not bought anything for baby yet, want to wait until the 20 week scan until we start buying things and making a general announcement - only close family and some friends know at the moment. - Hoping January goes quickly ;)

Oh, just remembered what else I wanted to ask - I'm planning on stocking our freezer with homemade ready meals before baby arrives so my OH and I can eat properly without having to worry too much about food shopping and cooking for a few weeks. Can anyone suggest any good recipes/recipe websites? - want a bit more of a variety than just bolognaise, chilli, and curries ;)

No problem at all - nice to feel organised enough to help others lol - I have sent it already!!!! x x

Sorry, haven't caught up yet with the thread, but thought at least I will check in!

Happy New Year to you all!

I am back from the holiday - we came back Friday night, and basically stayed on the sofa for the following 2 days. Started the house tidying up yesterday with the cleaning of the fish tanks, which still needs a lot to be done, and we have visitors on Saturday/Sunday! So, I have bed linen to iron, and house to clean, but no energy for anything.

First day in the office this year, and started with almost missing my train, having to rn, which ended up in the hip pain again, and now I am in pain walking. Never mind, all part of the deal. I came back today to fins out that another colleague is expecting! She is 12 weeks now and has her scan tomorrow. And she already has a bump bigger than mine!!!!! I am quite jealous, I have to say :p Ok, I have a bump, but it is not than noticeable under the clothes I wear - I was bigger to start with, so there is space for the babies to hide. That is my excuse!!!! She has a really neat one, where is mine looks sort of cut in the middle!

Have got the consultant appointment on Thursday and hope this one will be more useful than th booking appointment and she might actually suggest something for the headaches and hip pain. I had low blood pressure before Christmas (85/55), but haven't checked it after - might do tonight, and maybe she will check it for the first time officially!

Hello again all - just back from my 20 week scan - all bits and bobs in the right place, little monkey was NOT in a happy mood and proceeded to give us cracking views of the back of head, butt, and spine in a flounce. Everything's where it should be though - totally normal, she couldn't get a great view of the "assets" but couldn't see anything sticking out so thinks it's probably a girlie in there!
