Hello all. Making a preliminary visit here. I am 12+1 today. Scan will be Thursday so will dip in and join for real after then. I really need to get some more bras and maternity tights etc. After all the talk of m&s being good I took a look at their site but it looks like they only do them in specific sizes? I am hoping to go to mother care and get some tha stretch several sizes so u can wear for maternity and breast feeding also. I am kinda of banned at the moment by hubby from mother care as he hasn't told his mates yet. And he is scared I will be spotted ...

Sorry about the lack of politeness but screw your husband's mates! Since when is telling them more important than you enjoying your pregnancy? What bizarre priorities! If you want to shop in MC (or every single baby shop you can find) you go for it, girl. :D

yep, 18 +4 and no kicks.. had things where im like hmm that could be it moving but equally could be wind etc!! Still not got my 20wk scan appt date in yet..

I was asked to call the hospital and book my 20 week appointment after the 12 week one. If I were you, I would call the hopsital/midwife and ask about it. It could be that they have sent out a letter, but the fantastic Royal Mail may have lost it in Christmas mail. You don't want to wait until 20 weeks!

    Hey ladies

I am a lurker as well and probably won't post much, but thought I would say that it is really reassuring to hear your experiences with kicking etc (and everything else). I am 17wks today and haven't really felt much (nothing I could say might not be my imagination working overtime). I am starting to swell in the tummy region although I haven't put on any weight and sometimes I feel like there is something there, but I could not definitively say that I have felt kicks or anything. My friend is a few weeks ahead of me, but she has been feeling them for quite a while. At her 20wk scan she was told her placenta was to the rear of her womb so that was probably why she could feel them so early on. All varies so much doesn't it?!

    Take care Lxx

  • Thanks for the congrats. Can't believe I am married!

I was told feeling movements depends on so many factors. Babys position, placenta position, your shape, weight, previous pregnancies etc etc and you can feel for fist time from 14-24 weeks and of course what movement you pick up first varies.

I started feeling mine at about 16wks, felt like a tiny bubbling/fluttering. Then about 10 days ago I started to feel little kicks. They feel more like a 'flick' than a kick as obviously it's still early. As I have SPD so I am not very active for long periods and I am on my side and back a lot. I always feel the baby kicking when I have been lying down for 20mins plus ( Mom said I am waking it up by being still ) but it's not strong emough to be felt on the outside yet, much to my DH disappointment :(

We picked up a pram we bought on eBay at the weekend. It's in mint nick and got it for £70. (its a £400 pram new) but DH took it straight to his Nans for storage so haven't seen it yer.

    So excited!

Anyone got any top tips on where to go for nice maternity wear? I'm 16 weeks and things are starting to get a little uncomfortable. I've been looking around but it seems that every shop thinks that pregnant women take leave of their senses and stop wanting stylish/funky clothes but instead want to look like a sixty year old.

The jeans in particular are disgusting! I don't want some mid-blue pair that a fifty year old M&S fan wouldn't even been seen dead in! I'm not saying I want to be in skinnies (they've never suited me anyway) but surely there's some middle-ground!

Maternity wear wise, New Look has some, and I got some trousers from there, jeans and a sweater. Can't say the trousers are very comfy, but they work.

I also got some bits from Mamas & Papas (tops), and I love them. I managed to get them in the sale, so it was a bit cheaper.

And my favourite bits so far are from Seraphine (google). They are pricey, and it was MIL Christmas gift to me (she gave the money and asked me to choose something for myself that I can use for the next months).
