Hi Hon... you have my sympathy! I've had PG related congestion all the way through my pregnancy, and a cold on top of that for the last two weeks. Unfortunately not much you can really do about it. I asked my consultant re:congestion and she said that the vicks stick inhaler was ok in small amounts. Otherwise, best to eat plenty of fruit for vitamins, and drink lots of good fluids. If you have a sore throat, then glucose pastilles and real honey and lemon is good (avoiding lemsips).
I have a feeling that olbas isnt good, as it has camphor, which isnt a good oil to use with pregnant.

Yes, i'm sure it will have been fine, small quantities and via steam, not direct. Just steam is pretty effective anyway!

You can take paracetamol too if it'll help. 2 tablets every 4-6 hours but no more than 8 tablets in 24 hours. That's what I was told by the midwife after having my CVS.

Bought some baby stuff and maternity clothes at the weekend. Makes it seem more real now!

    Hi Everyone,

I've been on the missing list for the last few days but I'm back now :)

Floatylight - FAB costume, beanie looks uber cool!!

Darkphaery - Great news on team pink :D many congratulations

Did anyone go to the Babyshow at Earls Court this weekend? I went on Friday and we spent lots of the grandparents money ;) and a little of our own. We ordered the cotbed, bought a set of BumGenius washable nappies, bought a Medela electric breast pump and some other twiddly bits.

Was someone on here asking about the Medela Swing breastpumps or am I mixing it up with the big >24 week thread? Anyway, Medela were offering the £99 Swing electric breastpump for £65 so I nabbed one and the BumGenius nappies were £300 on offer at £250.

If you get a chance girls - get your bottoms to the Babyshow!!

I went to the show on Sat and bought the breast pump as well, we bought the package deal, swing pump, steriliser, food warmer, bottles, extra teat etc for £150. OH totally showed me up at the stall, they had these rubber boobs for demonstrating the pump, I turned my back and when I turned back OH was covered in orange coloured water as was the table, he'd decided to squeeze the boob and it had burst everywhere!!!

I bought some stuff off the Tots Bots stall as well.

Thought it was well worth the drive from Cardiff to London, only downer was paying for parking £3 per hour!!!

Did you see the £4,000 cotbed? It was stunning, but £4k really!!

If anyone didn't go and is thinking about it the next one is in February I think at the ExCel in London

I had my 20 week scan on Fri, everything seemed ok, but when they tried to scan the heart the baby just refused to cooperate. After about 20 mins of trying they sent me out for a walk and then tried again, but nope just didn't want to play ball. It turned over, even looked like it was trying to play with its toes at one point was so cute, but just wouldn't give a clear view to the heart, decided to wrap its arms around as well. They've booked me in for another scan in a week to try again!!

It posed great for the scan photos though!

Oh well get a 3rd scan for free!! :D

Hey Lola - my beanie did the same. His/her feet were up on their shoulders, so we had to go back a week later. Thankfully baby had moved (into breech, lol), so they saw everything that was needed.
We were pleased to have had an extra scan too :)
