Also, not sure if it was on here or the pain thread that I read about a book that was good for dads to be. Can anyone recommend one?

    Thanks x

I bought my DH " The expectant dads survival guide" as it got good reviews. He says he has found it very helpful..

Jannine, is this your first baby?? WHen i had DD1, there was a right screamer in the room next to me, i laughed my way through the first half of my labour at the noises she was making! There really is no need to scream (until the head crowns  ) but even then, its seconds worth of burning (also know as the ring of fire!) Dont let other peoples behaviour scare you. The noise that comes out of your mouth takes energy, which is less energy you have to use in pushing that baby out!
Can someone please update the team colours now we have had a few more scans?? thanks! xx

  • Morning everyone,

Still bunged up - it is driving me mad now, feels like it has been going on formonths!!!

Congrats on all the team notifications, I just can't wait until the 20 week scan, I am so excited to find out what our first bundle of joy will be. I am fairly sure it will be team blue, as DH has 3 boys already.

Having a few less trips to the loo in the night at the moment, but then in the day time having more - and some that seem pointless almost, I feel like I am desperate and then, just a trickle (sorry TMI).

Getting closer to moving day, I will be so glad when we are in and it is done, it is so unsettling, and I hate having everything boxed up, I can see me being very very tired! But it will all be worth it, when we are snuggled in the new place. xx

But on the plus side oh may have agreed to a 4d scan :)
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together

Just to balance things out a little, I had the flu jab last Friday (7/10/11) and have had no side effects, felt fine.

They recommend it as it passes some protection on to the baby as well.

The receptionist was a little funny with me when I booked it, then the nurse was also a little funny. I know there are low stocks of the vaccine and they want to give it to the people who need it the most, but I felt a bit of a criminal having to justify myself. Even when I told the nurse I was pregnant she was still questioning me and telling me it wasn't on my notes and how pregnant was I!!! Its not my fault I'm not showing yet!

I had no questions about having it and was seen as a priority above older people. They were turning them away due to limited numbers at my surgery.

My mum was really really ill after hers. Glad you are ok though.

Hi ladies, I'm now 12+3 and finally ready to join you! Had a terrible few days, here's what I posted on the <12weeks thread about whats been happening to us!

On Thursday I got the most awful phonecall ever from the hospital telling me that the result of our downs syndrome screening test was high risk at 1 in 10!!!!! Bearing in mind that 1 in 150 is classed as the start of the high risk group then we were VERY high!!! Anyway after discussing it with the midwife we opted to go to sheffied hospital for CVS testing. We had that done yesterday and finally got a call at tea time to tell us its good news and all is ok with baby!!!! Theres still an extra test they do that has a 2% chance of showing up a result that they didn't pick up today and there's also a 1-2% miscarriage risk so I've to take it easy but hopefully thats us out of the woods now and able to actually enjoy this pregnancy and get excited!!! Its been such a tough time up till now with the problems I had earlier on too so fingers crossed it can only get better!!

Hi and welcome. Glad the news is better than it first appeared, what a worry for you.

    Good luck.

Morning everyone. Think I'm coming down with the lurgy too *sneeze, cough, splutter*

Woke up about 4am for a wee, then missy woke, first about 5 prods on one side, then this weird feeling like she was changing position, then another few kicks on the other side a couple of mins later:T spent ages feeling her moves. Couldn't decide whether to wake hubby as he keeps missing her kicks. They are definitely getting more visible now. Am tired this morning tho lol:)
