Phunkles, they ring you in 5-7 days if its high risk, if not you get a letter through the post and i was told it could be up to 4 weeks but usually a couple of weeks I think.
I'm another worrier but thats no surprise considering everything we've been through so far! I'm going in for them to listen to baby's heartbeat tomorrow and they'll scan me if they can't find it as I'm only 13 weeks tomorrow so its a bit early. They were very nice and agreed to do it as we were a bit worried about the risks involved with the CVS I had on Monday. I've got some teeny tiny niggles low in my tummy today and its stressing me out a bit so will be glad when tomorrow is here!
Also, I seemed to be huuuuge earlier on! I posted a pic at 9weeks on the <12 weeks thread and people thought I must be having twins! Now I'm not as big though so I assume it must have been bloating earlier on! I'm not ready for maternity clothes yet but not sure what I'm going to do as my normal clothes were just a good fit before and having put a bit of weight on they're getting a bit tight now!0 -
Does anyone know how long it takes to get the results of the quad test back? And will it be a letter or a phone call - mine was done a week yesterday and starting to think about it a bit...
Phunkles in my area you get a phone call if you're high risk and they try and get your bloods done, results and back for a high risk follow up in just 4 days! If you're low risk they you're just left to wait for a letter to come through the post, mine took 2 weeks and 2 days for the letter to come through.0 -
Flutteryby - did you have the NF done at scan?
My midwife wouldnt even try and listen for heartbeat at 16 weekSo ive not heard it yet - I hate how each area is different!!
Thanks lovelys Im a worrier anyway by nature. I too said id relax after the scan but I havent at all. And was thinking this morning that I hadnt heard. I also paniced about my routine booking in bloods but got calmed down else where by people saying if theres a problem then theyll let you know about it.
Lisa - I bloated like a marshmallow man between 6-9 weeks - on holiday I looked huge none of my shorts would fasten up - got home and deflated a bit. then swelled again and bought maternity jeans but I think a lot of its bloating I took a pic the other day and I look humungous - was chunky to start with but i look really preg in the pic. OH reckons the over the bump up to boob level jeans make me look more pregnant??Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together0 -

Phunkles what is the NF? Is that the Downs Syndrome thing? Yeah I had that and got the results back, is this what you are referring to? Yeah I read that you can hear the heartbeat from about 14 weeks. I am 17 now.0 -
Also, is anybody still taking the healthy start vitamins, which includes folic acid? I take them sporadically but not everyday....unsure and forgot to ask today.
Thanks guys0 -
NF - Nuchal Fold - done during the 12week scan they measure the back of the babys neck?
They dont do that in my area so if we wanted to know the risk level of downs we had to have a blood test where they measure markers in your blood and take into account the mother weight/lifestyle - smoker etc and then it gets put in a computer and risk level is given. (think it measures 4 hormones but not sure)
Im 17 too but nope no heartbeat just not done in my area til 24week checkLove is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,

Hello Ladies,
Just moving over from >12 weeks. Had my scan this morning - AMAZING!! She said baby looked very healthy and she has put me at 13 + 1, I thought I was only 12 + 2! So pleased we can tell everyone now :0)
Lisa, my bloating has gone down a lot too now, also my boobs haven't grown much yet - gutted lol! Already have my next scan date; 8th December. I'm sure the time will fly as it did waiting for this one0 -
My midwife told me they recommend a multivitamin through out pregnancy.
Im still taking pregnacare - even though they considerably more expensive as they contain iron and I dont want to risk being anemic. But yeh thats what she said to me at 16weeks - i asked cause I was running low and was going to swap to the healthy start. Plus it means I dont feel bad when I have a day of eating complete !!!!! :SLove is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,

I am with you phunkles - yes I had the back of the neck measured and blood test done at the 12 weeks scan, so again this is different in each area.
I remember my scan was the day after your but it has now been changed to the week before!0 -

I was just looking at the healthy start website and so will continue to take them - I forget. My son has the same healthy start vitman drops and I am terrible for remembering to give him these lol, but he eats a fantastic diet so not too concerned! Me, on the other hand, my diet is terrible!!0
