I may have to resort to surgery :( ha, I'm hoping it's just because I'm wearing non wired bras I'm noticing it more, fingers crossed.

That's fine then, we'l see how it goes, my booking bloods was horrible, the midwife couldn't get a vein at all and when she did it was agony, the blood trickled out and took forever. Got blood done recently and the midwife was great, didn't even feel it. Weird how 2 people can be totally different.

Also helps to be well hydrated before having bloods done. If you are at all dehydrated, it is much harder to find a good juicy vein! I also cheat a bit, and pump my fist for a bit before i go in to have them done!;)

Thanks for that info, I don't fit into any of those catergories so must be why my midwife hasn't mentioned it.

Neither do I, but unfortunately they found sugar/glucose in my last urine sample :( therefore need the test

Hi hon, are your work quite relaxed and understanding? The only reason i ask, is that you have to give your employer your MatB1 by 25 weeks in order to "obey" the conditions needed for you to get your mat pay on time. If your work are difficult, officious or not very efficient with paperwork, then you probably ought to contact your GP or Midwife in advance of your appointment, and ask them to do your form for you to pick up. They dont need you to be there to issue it..

(ps. i just got my GTT all clear today as well! Phew!)

Thanks Kira - emailed HR today and said I was only seeing midwife next at 28wks and would it be ok for me to get form only then, she said it was fine thank goodness :)

Cool! Wasnt trying to be a fear monger, it really does seem to depend on employer. Glad yours are being good about it! :)

GTT was fine really. I'm not a fan of very sweet things, but it didnt take long to drink. Is yours using a powder you need to dissolve? If so, it really helps to make it up the night before, and keep it in the fridge. Drinking it cold is ALOT better than warm! And make sure you eat something with good long lasting carbs for your dinner- pasta etc, and you shouldnt feel so bad after the fast.

Thanks Kira! I have no idea what I'm drinking, was just told to fast from midnight, they take bloods at 8am, I drink the liquid, then bloods again 2 hours later.

Slightly different to the one i did. I think they will give you the drink ready made up when you are there, so the cold trick wont help. Soz!

  • Eugggghhhhhh, I feel rubbish today, and have done since the flu jab on saturday. headache and achey all the time, and to top it off I now have a cold (which I know is nothing to do with the flu jab). I could do with someone waving a wand over me that allows me to be one of these, healthy and glowing pregnant people!!!

On a happier note, we move on Friday and then I get to start thinking about decorating the nursery, yay!!! Anyone else got plans for nursery yet? x x

  • Oooh funny you should mention nursery decorating, I was going to ask what everyone thought of this wallpaper I have found.

I was planning on having it on one wall and then the rest of them white. My cot and nursery furniture ar all white.
