oh dear i'm crying already with obem, just had to pause it . do not watch girls if your slightly emotional like i.

I watched it with my 12 year old daugher who thought babies look weird when they are first born. :rotfl:

I was in floods of tears. :o

    Hi all,

Sequeena positive thoughts for you and hope everything turns out ok and they can advise a little more. There really is no time any of us can relax is there? As fate would go, a book I picked up on the weekend (chick lit) is about a lady who is pregnant due to low amniotic fluid, it only says it when you start reading a few chapters, which I thought was weird given it's what we have been talking about. It is called 'Bed Rest' and it may give you light reading as it's a bit Bridget Jones like, it may help whilst you are waiting to hear more from docs.

I watched OBEM last night but found it very hard going especially the lady that showed the pic of their previous little baby that was stillborn - it was definately one of the more emotional ones and I almost switched channels at some points.

it wasa tough show last night wasn't it. certainly makes me feel very grateful that the only thing i'm worried about is not feeling pregnant. and yes although hubby and i lost our first baby, i've gone gone on to have 3 great pregancies with only high blood pressure to worru about i feel very lucky.

on another note, it was car's mot today. was dreading it, in last 3 yrs we've had it the mot's have been passed 08, failed on wipers but cheap to sort 09 , failed on a type but again cheap to sort 10 and today , failed on wiper blade genuine parts were £60 !!!! each. but got non genuiine for £18 inculding vat and fitting. so i'm very chuffed. on a down side i felt so ill waitin got the car, the workmen had stopped for the break and i could smell all sorts of foods and i came over so sick feeling. i just sucked fruit sweets and did a puzzle with my little boy to take mind off it. but i'm so glad i'm home now.

jcr not sure about the cots, I have a moses basket to start off with and a large cot for after that... hoping it will be ok.
You are brave to consider natural birth, I think I will need gas and air minimum! Do want to try hypnobirthing techniques though.
I am glad your MOT wasn't too bad in the end, it's always a hold your breath moment isn't it!

Tw1ight I can't wear maxi dresses as am already 5"0 ha ha, I need to show more flesh otherwise it makes me look even smaller! My Dorothy Perkins order has arrived at work today so will try those on later tonight. A jade colour maternity dress and a pair of maternity green linen trousers (these only cost £0.80p due to 20% discount!).

ecoelle well done re nesting instincts and good luck re: mortgage advisor - we got our first home just over a year ago and it was such a battle, thankfully we'd been saving for 5 years so managed it in the end.

Is anyone looking into childcare arrangements yet? I will take around 9 months off but have heard childcare is best to arrange sooner rather than later... scary!

thanks sparkle. you so true about it a hold ur breath moment. our car 8 yrs old and never has a single prob in the 3 yrs we've had it. apart from last week a light got left on so the batt went flat and thats it. we love our car ( well mpv, lol), but then it only got 30k on the clock it's had regular services, cam belt done before it was even needed, everything is looked after so in theory there should be nothing to go wrong. but there is always that omg don't bring out that red mot sheet, if u do don't let it be much, lol :rotfl:

as for cot, i'll get a moses aslo, but won't spend too much on it as baby only in it a few weeks. but cots are so baffling me at mo. prob cause it a bit too soon for me.lol. made ym first baby purchases on ebay ( i can't handle buying from a shop yet seems too unreal and too soon. lol) got a great disney sleepsuit and a sleeping bag  wow, how early have i bought something. scary stuff.

Good evening ladies. I found OBEM sad too. It certainly makes you realise how precious life is.

Almost 16 weeks and off to see the midwife next week. Other than that I've got nothing else to report.

    I hope you're all keeping well x

    Evening ladies,

Just spoke to local group called Parentcraft who arrange maternity classes, we are booked in for may to have one class about general pregnancy and labour and one about feeding and once baby is here etc. Both are in the evening for 2 hours and hopefully we will also meet some people from our area. Feels quite nice, as if all our answers will be answered then and it will all become clear ha ha...

jcr we got a good 2nd hand amas & Papas Mdeal inc moses basket for £25, but also lots of matching linen etc for the room, but that's also our first proper purchase. I only got a Winnie the Pooh set on ebay for £5 apart from that. The rest has been free from Freecycle - a pram, a vibrating day bed for downstairs, a bath.

Hi DogLover good luck for next week - it reminds me I need to book my April midwife appointment too.

Next week we are off and have our 20 week scan, who knows whether baby will be coy or not, but i have a feeling it's a girl - we will see...

was getting concerned today after pains in the area between my belly button and pubic bone, some of them were agonising. well after getting home tonight, i promptly pumped about 30 times! making me feel a million times better!!
do we ever stop worrying in pregnancy?

Hi Anderson glad you feel better! What do you mean by pumped - exercise?

I am trying to go on my cross trainer 2-3 times a week and that's the extent of exercise for now. Hoping to go swimming at some point too but mainly when weather improves.

doh ! pregnancy brain. i wrote a post and instead of posting it , i logged out.:rotfl:

sparkle that sounds a good bargain. i do buy alot second hand baby wise , as i know from prvious experiance babys don't get much wear out of items before they dont' need it any longer.

i've been starting to buy maternity wear from ebay. as i don't need anything at mo, i'm not too fussed what i win and what i don't , if that makes sence , so i'm getting my bargains. get a great demin mini skirt last night for 99p !! and got some 3/4 linen trousers in white, plus ordered online some long linen maternity trousers in black and a white pair. i love my linens teamed up with a figured hugging vest top or halter neck. but i feel my linenes from last summer won't fit, lol.

i'm trying to find a nice maternity dress, as hubby and i are planning on going away for the night to celebrate being together for 10 yrs and he said he wants to take me out to dinner in the hotel where were used to stay before having our own home and where we had our honeymoon. i don't want anythign too ott, but it is a special occasion so i want somethign nicer than normal.so hard to find somethign that fits the bill.

Anderson i don't think we ever stop worrying, and even if we have no pains, no problems we then worry about that as we think it a sign somethigns not right.
