Oooh except last night- one alarming thing happened. I think I stood up from the sofa too fast and I was literally bent double in pain. It felt just like a stich on my right hand side. It went after about a minute but my gosh it was painful. I hope it was just a stretching pain or something.

I have had this a few times since last week as well, its quite scary isn't it but thankfully it goes really quick. I think its round ligament pain so nothing to worry about it:)

the evil starp pain which is like being stabbed is usually the ligaments stretching.. it fades over a few minutes but does happen a fair bit as your insides are shunted about.

The dull achey dragging pain on the left.. you need a poo and is very common symptom of constipation.. trapped wind is more gripey crampy type pain and often higher in the abdomen though the bubbles can be felt and sometimes heard gurgling through the intestines. the periody type pains are just the uterus stretching to accomodate its inhabitant.

Hope this helps a little :D

Unless pain is crampy and associated with bleeding or leakage or following a fall of other accident it is usually nothing to worry about .

Yeah, what she said! The sharp ones (bit like a stitch) are "round ligament pain" according to dr google. I've been getting quite a few this past couple of weeks when I turn in bed, stand up quickly or stretch to reach something. I've also been getting the mild period type pains all along, on and off, and think it's uterus stretching and moving.

Hi jcr hope everything is ok for you when you go - I got an alarming letter to see a specialist around 4 weeks ago out of the blue, no mention what it was about and in the end if was because of something I had mentioned in my booking in. I am sure it's something they just want to do now, perhaps they think it will be easier than when you are more heavily pregnant.
I do have my 20 week scan coming up next week yes, so will let everyone know if we find out the flavour...
Sounds like your hubby is arranging something nice so hope you find a lovely outfit!

Apricot have no fear - yours will be soon! I got to try on items from Dotty P today, the size 10 linen trousers are enormous round waist, so I guess I will see what tummy is like in 2-3 weeks. The dress I got is nice enough, but it's just one colour and I do tend to wear pattern type tops, so it really shows my bump and I feel self conscious in it for now. I also got a tunic from New Look and same thing - it's a light caramel colour, and as it has no pattern shows off bump alot... So I am pleased I had bought a patterned dress from NL which I am def keeping. On the plus side, it will be £17 plus £13 back onto my debit card!

The pains everyone is mentioning sound about right - round ligament pains as mentioned above. I got a bad one couple of weekends ago, like the kind that makes you stand still and take in breath. I find I get mild ones if I move too quick so have made sure none of my movements are too sudden!

Claireloo - brave you with the waxing - I may do my legs soon as a treat but that's as far as I go! Nice to have the comment from the lady there, I don't think anyone would notice mine yet. Mind you as mentioned above it seems my current clothes with patterns are helping to disguise it!

Evening ladies and bumps. Well we are having a lovely week off work, been very nice to be able to sleep when i feel like it, only problem is headaches from hell. I've had this last one for 5 days now. I'm starting to get concerned that there is something wrong with my blood pressure. Is it possible that the increased hormone levels, i think it was the hcg hormone, could cause headaches? Not sure but going to speak to the midwife about this at my next appointment becasue this is getting unbearable.

Other than that, starting to get a bump i think, although i think at the moment i just look a bit fat. Oh well, speak soon, love and hugs to all.x

    Morning ladies and bumps

I am in my Dotty Ps maternity dress for the first time today after I discovered my black pencil skirt which I often wear for work didn't fit this morning:rotfl:

The only thing is, its kind of designed loose around the tummy which highlights any bump and people keep staring at my stomach now as if to say "is she?????"

And by the way ladies, the wax was v. painful - more than normal. But I'm going to have to keep it up. The beautician said that when heavily pregnant women go in to *ahem* tidy up down there before having the baby, she uses a mirror so you can check out her handiwork!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a jersery maternity dress yesterday which is loose at the front - I have a teeny bump at the moment but I actually look pregnant when I wear it - can't wait to put it on!!

Re the Dotty P's linen trousers ladies - I ordered some too in a size 8S and as far as I'm aware they are intended to go under your bump (round your hips) not sit round the waist (usually you have buttons inside to tighten if they are to be worn around the waist)
There are some belt loops so you can wear a belt to hold them up a bit if necessary (I find Dotty P sizing quite generous)

This is where I am wearing mine and they fit ok - I am a size 8 with a very large bump.
