  • Hi ladies, I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

ecoelle, I'm glad you are ok x

Sparkle How do they check your amniotic fluid? is that something they can check at the 20 wk scan? I know I dont drink enough, gosh if its not one thing to worry about its something else!

Popped into New look today and picked up some maternity tops for work and a pair of leggings, I could really do with some work trousers as I spent most of last week with my buttons & belt open! :o Il have a look on ebay tomorrow as I dont want to pay too much.

Think I can feel kicks!! :D they started as flutters but last night we had a few strong kicks and OH got to feel a couple, and he got all emotional bless him! aha x

  • Welcome Caelshorn, I know what you mean it's such a minefield of can/can't lists - in the end I am naughty sometimes, you have to keep your sanity after all! I do enjoy a real coffee on the weekend (or two), occasional brie or camembert (heated) and had a small glass of wine with a friend a couple of weeks ago for a celebration. It's down to each person, some are prepared to take more risks than me, others less, each person has to be happy. Glad you got some maternity bits and not sure about your question re tests, maybe call midwife and check?

Pookie Lou re amniotic fluid I don't know, just heard that if the baby hasn';t got enough to swim and stretch in it can apparently restrict limbs, which could be true I suppose so not worth taking the risk really even if it means umpteen more trips to the loo! Well done on the movements and great that OH got to feel them too - apparently babies can be coy at that point which is what I am scared of... during a dvd last night (Damages, I am hooked!) I felt a different kind of twinge, was unusual so not sure if that was a more defined movement? Seems baby moves alot in the morning but for now still feels like flutters. Each day I am getting to distinguish slightly more I think.

Must remember to take tummy photos - anyone else doing this?

I am pleased with myself as sanded and base coated the tv unit... hoping to finish tomorrow, been meaning to do it for so long!

Your amniotic fluid is checked at your scans and clubfoot can be picked up then too (although it is often missed) and although it can be linked to low levels of amniotic fluid and the baby being a bit cramped, it is more a congenital conditon. Of course stocking up on all that water wont do any harm LOL ;):o

Just don't want everyone panicking that there bubs will develop clubfoot if they don't drink enough water, surely if it was that simple it would be drummed into us!

Sparkle that's not a dig at you, everyone panics about these things it's only natural so I hope I have not offended you in any way :o

the level of amniotic fluid has little to do with how much you drink.. plus if our body needs water you feel thirsty and go get a drink..

Talipes is usually caused by positioning in utero (as with my daughter and my cousins daughter) or a problem with the ligaments/tendons in the legs. My daughter had her foot folded flat against her shin and her leg twisted around her back so her foot was on her bum.. the other leg was flat up her tummy with the other foot on her forehead.. she is the only person I have ever know be in a Barbie position! My cousin has learning difficulties and had drawstring trousers which she fasted way too tight and squished her baby's feet. Both were corrected with physio thankfully.

Good morning girlies. A lovely Sunday ahead :j

No specific plans today; I think DH can have the day off after his man efforts yesterday at the shops. Not a single moan and he was picking decent bits out for me.

Apart from a chunky waist and ongoing thrush there are no signs I'm preg. I guess that's good?!

I hope you all have a nice day x

gosh i never drink water. i've never been told by a midwife to drink x amount.

before i was preg i'd drink about 10 plus cups of tea a day , and a glass of sqaush maybe.

now i have 1 coffee and maybe 1 glass of sqaush a day. of course this varys day to day some days loads more, some days less.

Morning ladies and bumps, well i officially start a weeks holiday today so am spending the first day catching up with all my foody programmes i have recorded and then never watched. I want to make hubby something lovely for tea as he has to work today. I am really appreciative of the support you have all offered, and the advice, so thank you:)

Other plans for this week include getting the small bedroom decluttered and starting to plan the colour scheme and decoration, this will be squids room when he or she makes an appearance! I am really excited about the pregnancy now. I have my wobbles every now and again but i am determined to not get overly concerned over our 'increased' risk, it's still not a definate so i want to try and concentrate on the positives and look foraward to meeting out baby.

Hope everyone else is ok today, my bo-obs seem to have settled down a bit in terms of pain and soreness, i have ordered some new bras, 34GG....OMG...hubby loves it! I have also bought a couple of maternity items, a new pair of trousers from dotty p's, and a couple of tops from h and m, they are so comfy, and i can breath in the trousers! Anyone not sure about buying maternity clothes i would say do it do it now!

  • Morning

Well I'm in my mat jeans today - they are comfortable round the waist but keep falling down! Much prefer leggings but think i need to vary my wardrobe a bit :rotfl:

Went to a party last night with people who haven't seen me since I've been pg and everyone said they could tell . Well that's it now then - god knows how big I'm gonna get considering I'm only 15+2 today!!

And had the BEST news this morning - my little sister called me up to tell me she's just found out she's pregnant too. (She's actually not that little - she's 27!!) I'm sooo happy and excited we're going through this together now. She's scared my mum's going to tell her off tho for "stealing my thunder". But I don't feel like that at all - I couldn't be happier :j
