Galvaniser I did cheekily ask but this lady was not as chummy as the last chap and besides, I knew that wasn't the point of today so almost felt bad mentioning it. She did say we will find out 'more detailed' info in March, so here's to fate! I loved seeing their little hand, came out in he scan pic not brilliantly but enough to remind us, we also saw some ribs I think!

Lately have been thinking more about names, must talk to Portuguese embassy to see whether we can get Portuguese nationality for bubs or not. If so they are sooooo strict about names, we'd have to choose a name for them and a name for the UK, which adds more to our lists!

That's a shame - some sonographers do seem more personable than others.
I had an Austrailian lady yesterday and she was really sweet - OH got a flat tyre on way to hospital  (he works miles away) and didn't make it to the scan - I was so gutted as was he.
The scan took nearly 40 mins though as madam wouldn't keep still but she managed to see everything on her list - she got 2 clear views between the legs so was quite confident of a girl - though you never know for sure of course just by looking :o

We have a name already but if anybody asks we just say they will have to wait ;)
  • Ohhhhh I'm so jealous to all the people hearing the heartbeat and feeling baby move (but pleased for you all nontheless :T) . I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and I think I was gearing up so much for the 12 week scan that I didn't really think about that inbetweeny stage I'm at now where nothing happens. It's bizarre but I still don't feel pregnant and I can't wait till my 16 week apt on 9th March when I get to hear the heartbeat.

Also, what do you make of this. OH was on the phone to his best mate who lives down in London last night and I heard him say "no she's not showing but she has put on a bit of weight". Ummm how to make a girl feel good about herself!!!!!

  • LabLover / Anderson that's a great idea to get hubby to tell you, I'm such a romantic at heart am tempted to no find out now and do that too!

Oh no Galvaniser that's a shame about the flat tyre, typical isn't it! Never happens when you are on your way to a boring work day... ;) Great news re: a girl, I think I remember you saying it's a name you've been using a lot and it's stuck so that's great. I have one in mind for a girl that's been growing on me, and have been trying it on OH every one in a while and he's coming round to the idea too. I guess it's because I have a feeling it's a girl, may be totally wrong though!

Turns out bubs can have Portuguese nationality, which is good but oh the joy of bureaucracy that awaits :p... Around May time I need to get a 'recent' copy of my birth certificate from Portugal no less. Why recent I have no idea, it's not like it'll have changed over the past 34 years now is it... :rotfl:

Oh have been so bad today, keep checking MSE and little work, am off tomorrow so already in the relax mode... but today the midwife and sonographer did say for me to take it easy because of Monday :o:p

  • Claireloo don't take it to heart - remember that putting on (the right amount of) weight is needed, essential for bubs to grow. Besides your OH probably wanted to show his mate some signs are happening of pregnancy, and if weight is one, then all is good! However you can still make him feel a little bad by asking for cake as Ddebski says...!

I am 17 weeks 4 days apparently, thought I was only 17 - have put on around 2.5kg - how about you ladies?

Well I had my triple test today and they got blood from the vein first time WOO! I had to have extra blood taken though for my substance midwife, boo :(

    I've lost 4kg!! That's almost 9lbs and I've dropped 2 BMI points! I'm still a fatty but wheeeeeeeeeeee!

Also had my 16 week midwife appointment. She found the heartbeat for a second but then lost it. Boo! but what I heard was beautiful :o

  • Hi Sequeena great to get your triple test done, shame about the heartbeat but bubs can be fidgety! I guess the weight loss may be down to morning sickness? My hubbys mum lost weight when she was pregnant and at the end of the pregnancy weighed less than before she got pregnant...

Lablover that sounds about right, ckecking it properly I was 47.7kg before and am now 50kg so just over 2kg. Will check with midwife mid April at my next appointment so we can see if I'm at around the right level.

Am off today and spending the day and night with a friend at an Usher gig, looking forward to it loads, so very relaxed morning so far - have a lovely weekend ladies!

  • 14 weeks today :T and I feel fat!!!! I don't look pregnant just really rounded at the waist. I don't mind when people who know see me but I think other people must be thinking she needs to get down the gym :rotfl:I keep wrapping my huge cardigan round me subconsciously.

Other than that feeling great and off to London to see my mum's side of the family this weekend. They are the last important people to find out but I wanted to tell them face to face. So really looking forward to that.

Have a good weekend everyone xx

sparkle it could have been the morning sickness, all the weight is off my thighs though so I'm thinking it's because I'm finding it harder to walk up and down the mountain so I'm using more energy.
