Hi Just Peachy
I hope you are OK now, I know how you must be feeling I miscarried in October @ 6w and in January @ 7w and now pregnant again 19w6d and had a bleed at 5w and 6w and a blood clot at 13w it is so scary and like Aimless says you just don"t know if it will stop.
I have never had any reason for the bleeding my MW says sometimes it just happens which is no reassurance at all!
How far are you now?
I"m here for a chat if you need it

Just Peachy,
Sorry you have had such a scare, I have had a mc previously too and with this pregnancy had a light bleed earlier on in pregnancy which scared the pants off me.
Its good that they know what caused the bleed so its nothing sinister and that beanie is all fine and safely tucked up in there.
Hugs for the uncomfortable pain problem too.
I hope you get a good rest tonite
Take care

Just Peachy, sorry to hear about your scare. Hope you have managed to relax today and get some rest/Blue_Monkey wrote: »Please please can you tell me more about this?!?!
WW, how horrible for you to have to hear this... How ridiculous that they seem to suggest that every Downs baby should be terminated, that's just so sad... I hope you feel better now that you've decided about the amnio anyway? Is it the same consultant you'll see apres-scan as the one you've already seen?
OH bought me a hedgehog house for the garden last Christmas but I have only just gotten round to painting it. It needs to go out in the garden soon with some food in so they get used to it and will use it to hibernate
We are going to a different hospital for our next scan so we will see a different Consultant. I thought that we were seeing the Consultant directly after our scan, but I got home to a letter tonight and we see the Consultant 8 days laterBlue_Monkey wrote: »Mimi - I weighed myself today - have put on 10lbs  Not happy about that particularly.... I don't want to get back to the UK and everyone think that I look pregnant from the eyes down....... I know now is not really the time to be worrying about weight, but would like to look back on this time with fond memories and not be cringing at any photos........
I've put on 8lb since my midwife weighed me at 8 weeks + 4, so 8lb in 11 weeks  Not good, but I am just sooooooo hungry all the time. I wake up in the middle of the night starving and have to get up for some cereal.
I had a bit of an incident at work today when I was supporting 2 clients to a Boxercise session and one of them accidentally punched me in the stomach. I've not had any cramps or bleeding but OH is stressed out about it0 -
Peachy - sorry to hear of your scare, hope you're ok now?
WW - do you have many hedgehogs in the little house or does it need to be painted first? I hope the next consultant is better, sorry about the wait though..... That's funny that you wake up in the night to eat! Might be worth mentioning to your GP about your punch, but if you don't feel worried perhaps not? (might be an excuse to get an early/another scan?)
So I had my 20 week scan today (even though I'm just over 19 weeks). We were in there for quite a while as the sonographer couldn't see what she needed to as the baby was in an awkward position (head right down low in my pelvis on the right hand side)! Cheeky monkey wouldn't plan ball at all no matter how much she jiggled the scanner thing on my belly or tilted the bed up so my head was right down! In the end she told us to go and walk about for a few minutes - the baby had moved slightly, but not much, but she got to see what she needed and said all looks well. I mentioned that I wasn't sure if I could feel kicks yet or not, but just as she zoomed over one of the baby's legs we saw it kick, and I could feel thatSo I think my "twitches" are in fact kicks - I love that I first felt them the morning after we got engaged a couple of weekends ago!
OH was most disappointed that we don't get any more scans now (all being well) - and I think we both had a bit of a freak out when I said "Next time we see him/her will be at the birth"!0 -
Hi,
Thank you for your kind comments, feeling more relaxed today and have had no more bleeding, I have a doppler and have checked the babies heartbeat a few times and it is going very strong, so that has helped me to relax a bit. I have still not felt the baby move yet, well I don't think I have anyway, I had a weird feeling last night but wasn'[t sure if it was the baby or not - do you know straight off when you feel it move??
I am in absolute agony at the mo from this pain I keep getting on my left side, I mentioned before that I have had two lots of key hole surgeries for adhesions (adhesions are 'sticky' fibres that join organs together) the adhesions were sticking my ovary to my fallopian tube and although I had them snipped off in both surgeries, I'm pretty sure they have returned as I am in so much pain now. I also had a cyst found at my 8 week scan, this was also on my left side, so I'm not sure if it's the cyst or the adhesions causing the pain, but it is just awful right now and is only on my left side so I'm pretty sure it must be one of the two.
I have to get myself into a comfortable position and then try to not move as if I sit or lie in the 'wrong' position it's really painful. I know this is nothing to do with the bleed I had one Sunday, as I have had this pain from the start of my pregnancy and have also had pain like this prior to being pregnant. I have a hospital appointment tomorrow about this and it can't come soon enough
I hope everyone is doing ok xxx
PS Tiny Tink I am 18+5 (today)0 -
Oh peachy you poor thing... Glad your hospie appt is imminent, hope they help you out with your pains....
As for 'knowing' the kicks, well, what I think are kicks feel a bit like twitches - you know like you get in your eye or leg/arm/wherever sometimes like a regular throb - except these aren't particularly regular. Sometimes they happen in the same place, then nothing for a few hours, then in a different place. I notice them more when I'm sitting and relaxed, don't notice it when I'm lying down or walking about but then I guess I'm doing other stuff so not so focussed on them. Had my 20 week scan this morning and saw the foot judd out just as I felt a "twitch" so I'm starting to think the twitches are gentle kicks... My layer of blubber over the top is probably shielding them for the time being.... Can't wait to feel it properly, I sometimes forget I'm pregnant and only on the odd occasion do I feel 'connected' with my bump, so looking forward to 'bonding' by knowing the baby is deffo there via the kicks, if that makes any sense at all.0 -
Just Peachy
I would say if you feel something weird that you hadn't felt before it more than likely is the baby as i was the same at first i wasn't sure what it was and it was very irregular and everytime it happened it was that quick it hardly registered.
I am now 20 weeks and it is more regular specially like Blue Monkey says when i am relaxed or sitting, maybe because i am not really doing that much at the time and notice it more.
Can't wait for a real kick!!
I have my scan tomorrow and can't wait to see our little sea monkey againmaybe even find out the flavour!!
I am too excited, oh and scared all at once, being pregnant has probably been the biggest mix of emotions i have ever felt in my life!!
Take care all xx

Hi All, hope everyone is having an OK day.
Quick question. Just back from my 16 week midwife appointment. Are they all going to be such a waste of time?
Spent 45 minutes past my appointment time to see her ( none of the three women -all on 2nd/3rd/4th appointments with her) before me had bothered to take a wee sample, so all had to come out, ask for a pot, wee, and go back in).
Finally went in, she dipped a stick in my wee, did my BP, and that was it. No questions, no weight, no measurements, nothing. All of 4.5 minutes.
It was the first time i had seen her, and she was actually lovely, but somehow i expected a bit more?
Or am i hopelessly optimistic about the NHS?

Thanks PP. I guessed you might have that view! I s'pose from the guideline in my notes i was expecting to be measured in some way, shape or form. I suppose that its good to know the wee and BP were OK, but really, with all the xtra consultant/hopsital visits i'm booked in for doing wee and BP, it just seems a bit pointless!
TBH, we spent longer talking about our respective cats and house prices, than anything remotely baby/pregnancy related.
Hope the house clearing/doing is going ok. Your new tables and chairs sound great. I managed to restrict my next sale spend to a few maternity clothes items. It was very very tempting!!
Hey ho!
WW, i loved the sound of hedgehog painting!
Peachy, sorry you had a scare. Hope everything settles down again so you cna relax a bit!
