Thanks for the advice Kira :)

I've read about it more & it looks like it's just a few extra injections I'm in for. I just worry too much I think :o It is my first pregnancy too so I'm edgy about everything right now lol. As for the back rub, my bf works 6 days a week & is always knackered so I feel bad asking & I know he hates giving massages :(

Apart from that he's been brilliant through all my sickness & moaning so I can't complain really...

    Hello Stacey,

Sorry you are still suffering with the M/s

Re the backache if you are lying in bed (which I do frequently whilst watching trash on tv!!) I am using my hubbies V shaped pillow which I put on top of another on and this helps me lie more propped up and as I rest my arms on the side of the v it helps take some of the weight off back might be worth looking into.

Kira is lovely and has given you really good advice and as she says not as likely to have as much impact on the first pregnancy.

By the way am 13 plus 3 too

    Take care

    Thanks Ro :)

I'll have to track down some bigger better pillows and for now I'm using a hot water bottle which is helping a bit. :) I know it's unlikely something will go wrong now with the rhesus neg & I'm so glad for the advice you can get on here so thanks everyone. :D

  • Just tried to paint my toenails. Crikey was that an effort  You should see the state of them, they look like a 3 year old has painted them.

Blue Monkey, not seen you on here for a while. Hope all is ok?

Hi ladies - sorry have been MIA for a few days - nothing much going on here, except for my bump seems to have popped! Whilst under clothes it's not really noticeable, in the nude it deffo deffo is! Next scan is tomorrow (Tuesday for me as it's now Monday morning).

Been chatting to my friends and family back home quite a bit on Skype and though its fab to think I'll soon be just round the corner to them, my god I forgot just how much everyone has a bloody comment/opinion on EVERYTHING. OH and I are beginning to think we're going to feel really overwhelmed by being surrounded by them again, specially as we've had 18 months doing our own thing pretty much.

So what have I missed? I've not read back much I'm afraid.....

WW - thanks for the concern as to my whereabouts, I'd been meaning to get on here and see how things were going with you actually? Have you seen any more consultants or been to the new hosp yet? Hope you're feeling ok chickie? I think you should get a proper pedicure.. I'm a late bloomer when it comes to pedicures - had my first one at 28! But I love it now, it's my little indulgence (except it's winter here and no need to get my toes out, so haven't had one for a while, going back to yoga this week so will have to think about it) and I'm soooooo rubbish at doing it myself normally, let alone when there's a bulging bump in the way!

Hope everyone else is ok - and welcome to the newbies!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I defo need more practice, I've neglected my hooves lately. Usually I sit at the top of the stairs and have my feet on the next step down. Last night I thought for some reason the sofa would be a good idea, even though it is knackered and got no support in it. OH offered to do them for me, but I didn't like to impose after he spent the day making me a cooked brekkie, taking me wallpaper browsing, to McD's for a muffin, helping me paint my hedgehog house, fetching and carrying hoover and buckets of water up and downstairs all afternoon, rescuing me from a beastie in the bathroom, sanding the polyfilla in the nursery for me, and then, clearing up after my piece de resistance ...... flooding the bathroom so that it comes through the kitchen ceiling

BM, are you excited for your scan? :j:j:j Are you going to find out the sex?

We were back to see the Consultant last week to let them know that we aren't going ahead with the amnio. It was awful. I can see how they terrify people into having amnio's and terminations if the results aren't good.

They kept mentioning 'the consequences of our actions' from not having the amnio. When the Consultant had no joy talking us round they sent a Specialist Nurse in and she was saying that if we wait until the 20 week scan to make a decision, if it shows the baby has Down's they would have to commit 'fetalcide' to the baby in the womb by killing it before performing a termination. I told her we had already made our decision and we aren't having the amnio and we aren't having a termination regardless of the results of the scan. It was horrible and I felt like they just wanted us to have the amnio, but if we did that and the baby has Down's then they would try and talk us into a termination.

We go for a scan at the Fetal Medicine Centre on the 25th and then have an appointment with the Consultant to discuss anything that they find on the scan. I'm quite nervous about it in case they can see any soft markers for Down's etc, but I can only hope everything is ok. Even if they don't see anything, nothing is certain until Eugene the bean is born :o So I am trying not to worry and just carrying on as usual.

We've bought a 3D scan on living social for £99, you get a 15 minute DVD of the scan and 8 photos so we are really excited for that. Ideally I would like it done when I am about 28 weeks so that the baby is well developed but still got space to move around :D

I think, possible, maybe that I may have felt Eugene move last night, but I'm not entirely sure. I was struggling to sit up on the sofa and my belly felt really firm, usually it is like jelly on a plate. This lasted for about 5 minutes, then I got a twinge across the centre of my belly that lasted 20 - 30 seconds. Afterwards my belly went all soft again . I don't know if was though as everyone says that at first you feel a fluttering like butterflies in your belly and it wasn't that.

I am quite excited to see the baby again, but a little nervous too given that they will be checking for anomolies... No, we're not finding out, like the surprise...

WW, how horrible for you to have to hear this... How ridiculous that they seem to suggest that every Downs baby should be terminated, that's just so sad... I hope you feel better now that you've decided about the amnio anyway? Is it the same consultant you'll see apres-scan as the one you've already seen?

I  that you're calling your baby Eugene.... We call ours Squirrel (as if it's hibernating - sleeping, stocking up on goodness etc given that it's winter here). I've been wondering for a couple of weeks if I've been feeling movement too - mine doesn't really feel like butterflies, more like a twitch (you know like when your eye has a little flicker) - I swear I've never had that in my belly before, or at least I've never noticed it... I guess time will soon tell for sure :D
  • Hi everyone, hope your all ok.

Thank you for the advice about DFW but I regulary check my bills and only thing i can drop is my mobile (which Im still in contract for)

Luckily (:T) Tax credits paid me £160 that they owed me from last year so that has tied me over so no borrowing :T:T

Cant believe there is a 4 week delay at the council to process the forms. Its ridiculous. I was considering cancelling the Direct Debit that's set up for £120 (I should only be paying £79!) but I dont want to get in trouble - I know they will refund it but still . . .

Anyway - Sorry for the whinging! I have blood tests today for my thyroid, Back at hospital on the 8th for my third scan and then back on the 9th for blood results. Weight wise, I've put on 5lb's but looks a lot more than that. Still in size 14's (just!) so buying more "fat" pants as i call them lol

WW - dont let them bully you, if they carry on tell them you'll make a complaint!

Our bump is called "flump" (DD was called Bam-Bam because I swore she had a club in there to hit me from the inside with!)

I can feel flump moving, its butterflies :D

This ones official title is Dot... but I usually call it 'this lazy lump' as the darn thing still never moves.. it has bit of a poke about in the morning and about midnight some days... but it will still go up to 3 or 4 days without moving at all.. it probably has a jive when I am fast asleep lol.

Womble.. I would tell them if anyone suggests you have the amnio again when you have made the decision not to you will put in an official complaint which you have already prepared and is just waiting to be emailed.
