Thanks for the welcomes, and the info. I'll call the GP surgery this week to make a midwife appointment for week 16. I've already got a consultant appointment at 16+4, but doubt that will cover the usual stuff. In fact I have no idea what they want to do with me at that, although it is because my BMI is higher than they like.

Been finding out, as we gradually tell people about the pregnancy, that a load of friends who are done with having kids have still got stuff that they are willing to pass on, which is absolutely brilliant. However, had the most amazing one today - my parents have a cot, just needs a new mattress... I asked where they got that from, and apparently it is the one they bought new for me and my brother to use... I am 36 and he is 34 :rotfl:

(On a side note, is there a support group on here for the families of hoarders...?!)

  • Tut tut!! Down on the 3rd page ladies!!

It's our 2nd wedding anniversary today, been together 8 and half years though. We went out for lunch and had a nice afternoon planned, but I was too tired after lunch and had to come home to sleep. I'm getting terrible for afternoon naps :o

I went to the dentist today and it was fab not having to pay :D Although he said I need a filling replaced after baby is born

Hi all, hope you are well.

Happy anniversary WW! Hope you had a great time and managed to leave behind your recent worries, even if it is temporary.

With regards to bumps, I have quite an obvious pregnant belly now, not just looking huge but can actually tell there is a baby or babies there. Had another scan today and all is looking well. We tried to find out the flavour however one had closed his/her legs and the other crossed them. Pesky babies.

No names yet, we can't seem to agree on many so have now given each of us a different coloured highlighter and are making our way through the books. Finding it easier doing it separately so we don't make snap judgement on the others choices. Hopefully once the flavour is known it will become easier.

Went for my 20 week scan yesterday, growth, heart, organs etc are all fine but have to go back in a couple of weeks as baby was breech and the man doing the scan couldn't see the spine properly. Had to go for a wee to see if I could shift it but it was being an uncooperative little bean and wouldn't move :rotfl: Then last night when I was trying to go to sleep it felt like it was doing somersaults so hopefully it's flipped itself around :)

Also ignored everyone's advice and found out the flavour, we're Team..... PINK!! :D:D

Congratulations on a little girl Claire! Not up to anyone else to decide whether you should find out or not.

DH was all for not finding out, but since then he has got it into his head that we are having a boy, and started referring to 'him'. I've said that we have to find out now (if baby will co-operate at the 20 week scan:)) because I don't want to go through the remaining months thinking it's one thing and getting the other. Either way though, we may not tell anyone else as I have a horror of every single baby item I get given being pink or blue - I'd like some variety!

We've got names for either team, but not telling anyone those either, in case someone we know uses them or worse, some mad celebrity (although they are probably not wierd enough;)). Means we can change our minds if necessary, and tease the parents about possibilities - we've already been told not to give it a 'strange' name.

And I haven't got a bump. To be fair, I had a stomach before bean came along, which has obviously not gone anywhere. It is getting a bit tighter though, or feels that way to me. Just over 15 weeks and still no sign of needing maternity trousers... and as I don't want to tell work for a while yet that is fine with me :)

    Hi everyone

Hope everyone's okay. WW I hope you're managing to relax a bit on your week off!! Good luck for the consultant tomorrow, one of my consultants is a k**b and was pushing unnecesary things at me so was quite upset by the time I got home. DH was annoyed (he didn't come as it was only the guy reading my notes, total waste of time) and said we're not seeing him again, but we do have to after we have our detailed heart scans!! Big fat bummer! :rotfl:

Have had an upset tummy since last night, hope it will settle by tomorrow. If I keep going to the toilet (Sorry TMI) I think I'll ask the hospital when I have my Quad bloods on Thursday. Can I ask how much weight people have put on, (a bit cheeky I know) As of this morning I am 8 lbs heavier and am worried that it's too much, (maybe less by the end of the week with this bad tummy, lol :rotfl:)

  • Thanks Kimmy!

I am feeling a bit better today as I feel as though I'm finally getting somewhere now I've taken matters into my own hands. I woke up feeling stressed and a bit down about things.

2 weeks ago I asked the midwife to refer us to a particular hospital, I last spoke to her on Thursday and she swore she had sent the necessary paperwork off. So I rang said hospital today and they said they haven't received anything in relation to me.

So I got really upset on the phone and told them my story and said I was feeling really stressed as MW now on holiday and I have loads of questions and I am getting very upset. So they got the maternity co-ordinator to ring me back and she booked me in for a scan on 25th July with the Fetal Medicine Unit and an appointment with a Consultant afterwards to discuss the scan. I had a lovely chat with her and she answered a lot of my questions so I feel calmer.

If you want something sorted, do it yourself!
