Big hugs star, it's almost a year since my miscarriage too, being pregnant will make things a lot easier but I'm sure I'll be feeling really emotional about it too xxx

    I've just ordered a cotbed! :D
A little bit MSE, but not totally! Really wanted to get a new one, so have been looking round, we already have a pine wardrobe so wanted something in vintage pine, which is not so popular. We really liked the M&P hayworth, but not paying what they want for it on M&P!

Well, I found it on ebay much reduced to £169 (instead of the rrp of £275). I called them up to check delivery costs and by going direct it was £149 (plus delivery - free collection if you're near Leeds). Ill pm the details if anyone's interested in one.

Did they also have the white version? That's my current favourite (wel second favourite but I'm not paying £350 for the Silvercross nostalgia!)

Spend a fortune in Aldi yesterday on baby bits, my first spend on anything other than generic furniture. Felt strange but also kind of exciting!

    18 weeks today :)

I don't think so. But we looked at the m&p site on a mobile last night to show the folks what we'd bought and they seem to be 170 on there, but still over 200 on the normal website?? Not sure what was going on there! Might be worth looking on the mobile site if you have a smart phone.

Ouch, 350 on a cot!! that is expensive.

A bit worried as I've still not put back on any weight, so still a stone lighter than when I got my bfp. Will bring it up with the midwife at my 16 week appt.

Keeping off baby related websites now for a bit, spent enough this month now! Although..... Emz where did you get the hungry caterpillar baby grows from?!

It's only natural you're going to feel emotional star, must bring back horrible memories.

Congratulations on your healthy scan Birdie, clearly little mister knew of your girly hopes and wanted to make sure he didn't end up in pink :D

Star wars nursery sounds fab, you should call him Luke so he can say 'luke, I am your father' lol

This is OH's dream! :p He's such a nerd! He was way too excited last night when he realised that once baby is old enough he can do the Jedi Academy experience at Disney World, even though it is, in OH's words, 'factually incorrect'! :rotfl:

Big hugs Star, hope the 1-year mark isn't too painful for you or Fran-O. How about planning something nice for that day?

I'm really struggling with the whole moses basket thing, it just seems like a bit of a waste of money for the sake of a few weeks. We've got nowhere in our flat to store outgrown equipment so I don't know what to do with it afterwards as I doubt I'll have the energy to deal with ebay! Then there's the question of where the baby goes from the moses basket, we liked the idea of a rocking crib as it'll be a bit of a squeeze to get the cot in our bedroom, but again it won't be used for that long and would it just be a waste of money- and again, we've got nowhere to store it afterwards?! Gah, I just don't know! OH is getting so carried away and keeps saying, 'Oh, I've found this for £50, then we'll need this for £40 and this for £100...' I don't know where he thinks all this money is coming from! :o

Birdie - we've gone for a cheap second hand moses basket, and hopefully that'll last 4-6 months (fingers crossed!!) then straight to cotbed. That'll last till about 4/5yrs old or next baby too, so didn't mind paying a bit more for that from new.
We're lucky that we've got plenty of storage room, but it must be frustrating if you don't.

My nephew was only in his moses basket about 2 months before he was hitting the sides and they had to move him, which is why I'm wary about it! What do people do if they don't have one, or is it a given that everyone has one?!

We've got a nice cot already but it just seems so big for a tiny baby... :o

I'm thinking the same thing, it can go in the loft after. Birdie maybe by the time you'd want to get rid of the Moses basket you might have a friend who could buy/loan/have it off you?

Or get your OH to deal with eBay. Or I don't know if thy sell stuff like that at nct sales?

If you're happy to squeeze the cot into your room, then just stick with that. Although I know what you mean, they'll look soooo small all wrapped up in there!
OH and I are a little vertically challenged :D so hopefully we'll get a few more months out of the basket. Either way it was only £20 so I don't mind.

Congrats on Team Blue btw. We just cannot think of any boys names we agree on at the moment!
