Well that took a lot longer than expected! :o Went in and the sonographer was all flustered as the clinic was running late then she couldn't get a good view of my placenta so she told me to go back later after having loads of water and jiggling the baby about, so went back at 1.50... everything was good and we're TEAM BLUE. :) Baby was mooning us and we got a perfect view of his dangly bits, there was no question about it! :rotfl:

Little disappointed when she first told us as I'm so girly and always wanted girls but I had a feeling it'd be a boy so not that surprised. OH was convinced it was a girl so took some time to come around to it but he's now so excited about having a little Jedi- he's planning a Star Wars nursery now! :p
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Congratulations on your healthy scan Birdie, clearly little mister knew of your girly hopes and wanted to make sure he didn't end up in pink :D

Star wars nursery sounds fab, you should call him Luke so he can say 'luke, I am your father' lol

    That's lovely birdie!

I've always wanted a girl too, I'm also very girly, however since spending some time when we went travelling in Oz with a family with 2 super cute little boys, and seeing what great care my dad & brother take care of my nan, I can honestly say I don't mind!

Ideally I'd love one of each. But what I want most of all is just a healthy baby!

Oh plus I saw a very very cute little boy at the weekend in a very cute outfit!

I've been feeling ill the past two days :( didn't leave bed yesterday as had a thumping headache, today I worked but came home early, feeling really sick and tired, OH is cooking chilli and the smell of it is giving me the heave :(

I haven't been able to drink water or fizzy for about a week now so I think I am dehydrated, the last few days been managing some lucozade sport and ribena but i'm worried as that's not very nutritional.

Hope this passes soon :( just want to lie in bed and sleep non stop

Did you see anything that made you think ooh that looks like a boy/girl or will you have no idea until you open the envelope?

Might have seen something boy-ish but that might also be umbilical cord! Congrats on Team Blue Birdie x

  • Hi all

I am hoping our little bud is a little boy too as 1. we have a name already, 2. DH thinks boys are easier, 3. I have seen so many cute outfits that I just adore and unusually for me, not seen anything girly I like, 4. we are quite outdoor type people and I don't really want a girly girl, a boy/girl who loves to get muddy is right up my street! if it is a little girl than of course we will love her just the same, it will just be really hard trying to find a name (DH dislikes every name) and DH has already said she is being a tomboy! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

After feeling ill yesterday, I chilled out all day and today done the same too....work shouldn't let me have annual leave as I can not stop looking at baby websites!! We rent our home and we can not really decorate our spare room much (already neutral) so I have found a website that sell the most cutest stickers to add to the wall and if they do leave any marks then it will be easy to touch up if we leave.

First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/14 :D
  • We didn't mind at all one way or the other. Although one good thing about having another girl is we now have an "excuse" to have baby #3 as people will think it's cos we're trying for a boy :rotfl:

ETA: Birdie and Fran-o, really pleased to hear about your great scans! x

Thank you all for your reassuring comments. I emailed and was told it's just an initial meeting with a consultant, so no tests but disappointingly probably no scan.

I've got a terrible headache as I'm so worried about being made redundant. I know I shouldn't stress as it makes no difference to the outcome .

Both my mum and sister thought they saw 'something' in my sister's 20 week scan. They were very wrong and it took my sister two weeks to name my niece after she was born. :rotfl:

Congrats on your scan Birdie, how lovely to have a son.

Con1888, try sipping ice cold water rather than forcing yourself to drink whole glasses. Original Lucozade is good for giving you some energy when you aren't eating much, I don't know about the sport version.

Mincepie - Would pads soaked in salt water help? The NHS website suggests Fusidic Acid eyedrops for pregnant women so maybe your pharmacist could help.
